GWYNEIRA the BAXCALIBUR was enjoying the wintery weather quite a lot. Many of the Pokémon in Hoenn weren't used to the snow falling so heavily. This made this clumsy and slow. Or, in other words: easy prey.[break][break]

Remiel hadn't brought the dragon out to the SAFARI ZONE with the purpose of hunting and eating, however. As far as he was concerned, she had plenty to eat back at the draciary. No, he'd come to pay witness to the new Pokémon reported to have been seen in these territories.[break][break]

A TATSUGIRI gracefully skates across a frozen lake, using a WATER PULSE to propel itself. Before it realizes it, however, it propels itself in the direction of a Baxcalibur waiting for it on the shore. Before it can adjust its heading again, Gwyn strikes it with an ICE BEAM.[break][break]

The small fish-like drake ends up FROZEN as a result. It slides right up onto the shore at the Baxcalibur's feet afterward. Before she can bend down to eat it, however, Remiel captures it within the confines of a Luxury Ball.[break][break]

The COMBEE seem to have come out a bit early this season. Remiel supposes, in certain territories, the ice and snow have already begun to melt. Though he can't fathom there's much to pollenize at the moment.[break][break]

Nevertheless, he and Gwyneira come across one. It's friendly enough and only buzzes around them for a moment before taking off. The pair continue on afterward with little trouble.[break][break]

Gwyneira wades into the flowing river with the intent to fish. At first, she proves to be abysmally bad at it. Her arms don't seem long enough to snatch a passing fish in time. But then, she changes things up.[break][break]

By bending down and dunking her entire head in the water, Gwyn finds success. She reemerges with a MAGIKARP between her teeth. A large one. "This might make a great new year's dinner." Remiel remarks, quick to pull out a Luxury Ball and catch it.[break][break]

The CHARMANDER effortlessly manages to keep itself warm in this frozen wasteland. When it sees the Baxcalibur, it invites itself to the challenge of defeating it. Gwyneira is in no mood to entertain the fire lizard, however.[break][break]

The lick of a FIRE SPIN might sting her scales, but Gwyn retaliates with a fiery DRAGON BREATH of her own. The Charmander finds itself succumbing to this blue flame after mistaking itself for being able to stand it. Afterward, Remiel pulls out a Luxury Ball and captures it.[break][break]

The METAL SOUND that the BRONZOR makes echoes throughout the icy valley. Though Remiel wishes to avoid it, the path they're on dictates the opposite. Eventually, they find the floating mirror in a canyon clearing.[break][break]

Gwyn narrows her eyes at what appears to be some sort of RECYCLING activity. When the Bronzor realizes it is being watched, however, it scrambles to escape. Remiel shrugs, and then the pair continue forward.[break][break]

The POLTCHAGEIST is a trickster. Such behavior is second nature to most Ghost-types, of course. Remiel supposes he shouldn't have been so surprised when it cast a RAGE POWDER on his Baxcalibur.[break][break]

Unfortunately for the Poltchageist, however, this would soon backfire. Gwyn would charge it with a GLAIVE RUSH that would serve to completely incapacitate it. Afterward, catching it within the confines of a Luxury Ball is easy enough.[break][break]
