Law had been getting his licks in for a good bit. Battles aplenty, slamming down with one foot, and doing his best to fight. In all honesty, Ashley loved this little bear, he just wished... he could run with the little guy. Walking with a cane these days makes it really hard. The little Kubfu always seemed to be concerned for Ashley first and foremost.[break][break]

"It's okay, Law. Really, it's-"[break][break]

A familiar face. He recognizes him well, as the other recognizes him... the Head Ranger. Ollie Morales. A very slanted, weird history. "Sup?" He looked dejected, downcast eyes showing a hint of fear. The little Kubfu waves. They were already near an arena, overlooking the skyline here in Lilycove.[break][break]

Sunken silver eyes tell a story. One closer to death than he'd realized. He only came back from that thanks to Isaac Merlo ... reborn now against Rocket. Or at least.[break][break]

He hoped he was going to be seen that way.[break][break]

"Name's... Ashley. You uh... wanna battle?"[break][break]

Law looked ready to roll out and FIGHT.

All those memories come back. The debilitating mental state should be red flag enough, but the self-immolation he put himself through. The moment in the Dewford cave had been their most positive experience.[break][break]

But. Ollie opened up. He knew him, and as Ash's chest tightens, at the hand outstretched, he can feel his eyes water. With a quick brush of his sleeve, he gives a smile himself.[break][break]

Hand-to-hand, Ash feels good about himself. "You too. Ollie."[break][break]

Then, he takes his spot, the long trek back there, with Law taking this moment to stretch, even getting on a handstand to workout.[break][break]

The moment the match is ready to go, Law smacks a foot to the arena floor, a FOCUS ENERGY made, before racing forward in one boundful stride, and throws his paws out. In sync with him, Ash nods.[break][break]

[attr="class","textbody"] Battles don't require words, and that's probably for the best for now, with how complicated their histories are intertwined. Ollie isn't sure if Ash is ready to talk about it yet. Like Isaac Merlo, he may need some time.

[break][break] The FOCUS ENERGY starts off the fight, giving Tofu enough time too to prepare. So that when the HEADBUTT comes for him, he's already ready for it. TRAILBLAZE burns beneath his feet and lends him the swiftness to dodge nimbly around his opponent, before he aims a flying kick at the other's face.

Something about that Pikachu throws Law off his game, because as Ash seems to be off balance by meeting Ollie cordially, it's the strike to Law that has him pay attention. The Kubfu, quickly grabbing onto the Pikachu, snatches Tofu's tail, and attempts to throw the Pikachu in the ground with a COUNTER![break][break]

Hopefully, if all went well, Law would smash the Pikachu into the arena. If the little Kubfu could manage. That kick was so direct, that the bear was a little woozy right now.[break][break]

Ash can't even look at Ollie right now. The guilt is too much to bear.[break][break]

That blast of DISCHARGE cannot possibly be dodged, and while little Law can't block it, what he does instead, is attempts to tank it. With a glint of his eyes, the bear throws both arms up to block in a DETECT.[break][break]

And if that goes well enough, the return is a trio of kicks in an AERIAL ACE, a taekwondo jumping one, a spin to the other one, and a falling ax kick for the last.[break][break]

If Tofu was going down, he'd go down alone.[break][break]

Ashley just smiles sheepishly, rubbing the back of his head. Law really was letting loose.[break][break]

[break][break] Still his head throbs violently from the massive attack from earlier, his yellow fur darkened with dirt and sand from being pummeled into the ground.

[break][break] And he was — or at least attempted to be — as the Pikachu attempts a TRAILBLAZE to quick his steps into a blur of speed, leaping backwards out of the way. The AERIAL ACE still barely cuts him, but not as harshly as it might have before. Leaf sprouts from the ground, aiming to slow his opponent.

The moment Law realizes he's just grazed Tofu, he's landed already, slamming into the leaf sprouts and vines of the TRAILBLAZE, and forced to stay in place, but the moment the vines ensnare him, Law attempts to rip his way out.[break][break]

Ashley has to respond, right? He can't just... not. But Law would look at Ashley with a pout, before quietly breathing in, and breathing out.[break][break]

The moment that Pikachu made an attack at him, Law was going to IRON HEAD. His head wasn't ensnared. So he would make sure to connect back.[break][break]

And if that Pikachu ran away, he'll just break the fines and do it anyways. One way or another, that Pikachu was getting slammed with a head-on collission, and Law would impose his version of martial law to speed with relative force.[break][break]

Oh FUCK. The moment that the SURF comes, it washes over the bear, throwing him backwards, and forcing him to slide backwards, drenched in water. Law wasn't giving up, no way, no how. But...[break][break]

It was getting hard to focus.[break][break]

"Don't worry about defense anymore. Everything to offense." Law nods. Smashing one paw to the floor, he races forward, roaring out with a scream, as the bear comes in for a CLOSE COMBAT, punches flying out in an ORA-ORA-ORA.[break][break]

[break][break] Just like always, his band glows white and the powerful Dynamax energy synergizes between the two. With a roar, the Pikachu grows to triple in size, his large body overshadowing the rest of the arena. He goes from looking like a cute, fluffy Pikachu to a behemoth made of marble.

[break][break] ORA-ORA-ORA — the punches hit him straight in the chest, and Tofu takes it like a soldier. Energy swirls in the shape of an IRON TAIL as a paw slams down on the smaller pokemon in attempt to capsize it.

Punches galore, the Kubfu screams loudly as he throws every paw punch forward to make sure he keeps slamming forward, taking each step towards the ever-growing foe ahead of him. The Kubfu smiles, seeing the Pikachu giving him everything he had, and all the bear can do is keep it going.[break][break]

The IRON TAIL comes down, and Ashley calls it out last minute.[break][break]

"Counter!" He'll take this strike, and fire every last ounce of damage back. The winner of this duel is the one whose left standing, and the little fighting bear screams loudly, as he prepares the COUNTER in response.[break][break]
