Cassandra looks around the park area for a quiet place to sit and do some outdoor sketches. It's a rare opportunity to go outside during class, but sometimes Cass wish it would maybe be in the springtime ... but she wouldn't actually go and complain about leaving that stuffy classroom. Today, her Tinkatuff Sona accompanies her - and quickly, Cass is dragged to a particular spot in the park by her pokémon.

"Alright, alright, I follow you already," she tells the excited pokémon, who makes exciting noises at ... something. She's not entirely sure what, really. However, the bench that she's been lead to isn't empty - another person around her age is sitting there. "Let's go- okay, fine, fine." Sona would not want to give up the spot, so Cass gives in and continues the approach with a friendly smile.

"Hi there! Would you mind if we sit next to you?" she asks, supported by polite and friendly cooing from her Tinkatuff.

The park was a place she had frequently visited over the years of coming to Hoenn. It didn't matter what time it was; she would rarely pass up the chance to visit the park if she was already in Slateport. The only exception was if she had other plans, which actually didn't happen that often, but did occur on occasion.

Usually, if she had plans, they had to do with her sister or she had promised to do some work for someone. When that didn't happen, she could be found anywhere and everywhere, working on her art in some way. One of her favorite places to do that just so happened to be the park.

She was in the middle of working on a new sketch when the sound of a woman's voice broke through her concentration. Surprised, she raised her head, her purple gaze coming to rest on the younger teen. If the other girl were to look into her eyes, she might notice they were unfocused.

"Oh no, I don't mind. Go ahead and have a seat," she said before turning her face towards the Pokémon she had brought with her. The cry wasn't one she was familiar with, so she couldn't help but be a bit curious about it.

As for herself, Eos, her Kirlia, was the only Pokémon out of her Pokéball. And, like always, she was currently sitting on her lap. The only reason she hadn't alerted her trainer to the other's presence when she had been making her way over was because she had been transfixed by what her owner was doing.[break] Cassandra Kubrick

Cass gladly takes a seat upon the invitation, and couldn't help but notice two things - first, the brunette girl's eyes appeared unfocused, and that she was also drawing something. She has no idea right away what to make of the former, so she just keeps that as a mental note for now. "Thank you!" she says, making sure not to crowd the other. "Are you drawing the park as well? Is it part of a school assignment, too, even?" she asked, and does a weird little dance-like thing where she leans closer out of curiosity, trying to see what the other is drawing, and then immediately backs down so they wouldn't bother the other.

"I'm Cassandra, but you can call me Cass," she also offers. Her eyes glance around the park then, as she opens up her pad to an empty page. "And this here is Sona, my Tinkatuff. Say hi," Cass advises her pokémon, but Sona is the actual extrovert of the duo. The Tinkatuff lets out some more greetings and friendly noises, and also does a little courtsy. She also eyes the empty spot between Cass and the other girl. Her trainer sighs with exasperated fondness, "Do you mind if Sona sits down next to you?"

Cass has the feeling she might want to have the best view on both artists' work, just like a certain other fairy type. "That's a really cute Kirlia, by the way!"

At the question, she shook her head. "No, I'm drawing a picture of an Absol for someone actually. I'm not in school or anything like that. Anyway, they want to frame it and put it on their wall or something. I think the guy's main partner is an Absol," she explained to her before continuing. "I just needed to get some shopping done, restock on art supplies, so I decided to spend a bit of time here since I was in the area anyway."

At the introduction, a small smile graced her lips. "Cassandra's a pretty name," she complimented. "Anyway, my name's Opal, nice to meet you, Cass."

"Tinkatuff?" she mused. "Can't say I've ever met one. And of course, I've never seen one. I'm blind, born that way. But I taught myself how to draw when I was younger by using braille as an outline. People must think I'm good though since I've been commissioned to do artwork by people," she told her with a small shrug as if she hadn't just admitted to being a blind artist.

Hearing the question, she shook her head. "No, I'm fine with her sitting beside me," she reassured the other teen.

The mention of her Kirlia made her realize she hadn't introduced the dual type. Eos, for her part, seemed to be ignoring the conversation around her.

Cass nodded at Opal's reply, and couldn't help but lean in a bit while keeping a respectful distance. It just doesn't seem like your usual drawing, with the way the lines seem to actually be tangible ... and actually are? "Oh wow," is her first thought as she also finds out that the other is a professional artist - this definitely matches the level of skill, something Cass could not come close to. There's also a hint of envy, maybe, because she's stuck in school still despite knowing what she wants to do ... but her mom insists. "That's so cool! And huh-" She honestly hasn't processed the blind artist part, but now it came around, making her eyes go wide.

"That's crazy impressive," she says, and couldn't help but take another closer look. "I think you're pretty good, too, if that's anything," she grins. She is also vividly reminded by her own task at hand, even if her Tinkatuff Sona couldn't be bothered anymore, being fully focused on what Opal's doing.

"Eos, it's nice to meet you," Cass tries, but also doesn't expect much of a reply coming from any pokémon right now. There's a bit of a sigh, but then she works on getting her pencil and an eraser out - yeah, she knows it's a crime, but she really needs it. "I'll be quiet for a moment, too, need to focus so I can get some of my school assignment done, but I'd love to chat more in a bit if you want!"

For now, however, Cass engages in a surprisingly focused state, only occasionally interrupted by glances at Opal's artwork, with the conversation to be picked up later.
