Thankfully the Tornadus didn’t hold grudges unlike his human companion who did and continued to chase after the not-quite-a-Thundurus, however it was undeniable…

Just some swapping around and the blue one with the funny tail, if sitting in a cloud form, would be the spitting image of the purple-and-green one, albeit with a lesser number of horns.

The immediate problem now was the electrical fire that was raging all around them—yikes. Normal water wasn’t going to cut this; hopefully the blue one would leave and he would give chase so they could put out the fire!

“You go! I’ll—stay,” he breathed out; seeing as his cloudman had other ideas on how to quell the flames.

“I can’t just leave the fire here!”

"Roger! I'll try to get us some help. Maybe they'll delay the next round until we can get the fire under control if it gets any closer to the venue!" The young man waved goodbye to the Birdfather, trusting his Tornadus could keep the fire quelled. Little did he know that this would be the last time in a long time that the two would see each other as allies.

The beleaguered man arrived back at the tournament grounds as quickly as Resheph could safely carry him. "There's a big problem - we have an electrical fire threatening the tournament grounds. Anyone with ground-type Pokémon, we need the help!" Josh leaned low on his Dragonair; if it weren't for his cocoon saddle, he would have fallen completely. He needed to get looked at. Those electrical burns looked to be more than just mild...

Putting out the electrical fire with water was a bad idea, and some shuffling later he would eventually pull out two Pokéballs—one with his Charizard, and another one containing—surprisingly—a Ninetales.

Why Ninetales?

“Ravana, I’m going to need your help! Can you help put the fire out?” he asked his trusty Charizard—before the Ninetales then rushed forward, seemingly drawing the fire unto themselves thanks to their Flash Fire ability.

“Yeah, any missed spots will do!” he added as he then chased after the two Pokémon, recalling the Tornadus before things got even further out of hand than they already did.

They would have to deal with putting out the electrical fire now, after all.
