Thunder split through the sky, angry and loud. Nabi twirled the cherry-patterned umbrella in her hands, just the slightest nervous about lightning striking her. Bruno, on the other hand, had nothing to worry about.[break][break]

Nabi stood with her swampert by her side, hand held out for paxton concordas to shake. "Interesting hair," she told them. Her eyes did a quick up and down, silently judging their appearance. Passing. Barely.[break][break]

The ends of her lips curved into the smallest of smiles. "Well, let's make this a good one, yeah?" She and Bruno moved to take their places.

Nabi knew little about mawile, but it was clear to her that it was both a cute and dangerous pokemon. She appreciated that in a pokemon.[break][break]

"Try to keep your distance," she warned Bruno before the start of the match. "That extra mouth is going to be a handful."[break][break]

At the sign of the battle starting, Nabi quickly rolled out her first order. "MUD SHOT, Bruno!"[break][break]

From the swampert's mouth, goopy mud bulleted out. It traced along the ground, leaving slabs of wet dirt across the field, before straightening its aim to land a hit on the opposing mawile.[break][break]

Nabi bit her bottom lip when she saw the familiar glow of mega-evolution in process. From the get-go, huh? It just meant they were going to have to work even harder.[break][break]

Bruno braced himself for the mawile's attack. The ICE PUNCH connected with his chest, his opponent's mega-evolved power inflicting more damage than he had anticipated before. Still, there was plenty of fight left in the swampert.[break][break]

With a big inhale, Bruno released yet another attack from his mouth--this time, it was his HYDRO PUMP.[break][break]

The mega mawile's speed and agility proved a menace to the swampert. His attack missed, and within seconds, his opponent was back on him, landing a hard-hitting IRON HEAD straight at his jaw.[break][break]

Bruno's teeth clicked on impact, nearly biting his tongue. At this rate, Nabi surmised the battle would end soon, with her and Bruno taking the loss.[break][break]

She gave an order for a MUDDY WATER, hoping to cover the field in a long range attack and catch the mawile in its waves.[break][break]

Though their attack had hit, the mawile's ROCK TOMB made for great cover. Nabi raced through her options--what could they do against this little monster?[break][break]

Only seconds could be spared on decisions. Nabi gave the next move, feeling unconfident. Obeying, Bruno took aim with another MUD SHOT to try and break away the rock coverage and cover the mawile in its goop.[break][break]

Depite her best efforts she can't escape the flood and is pushed back further onto her side, towards Paxton. Still, she scrambled up, guarding her health jealously. The finale of the battle ended Bruno on the receiving end of an intense ICE PUNCH. The swampert recoiled out of bounds, clutching the spot where the mawile had hit him.[break][break]

The call was made, ending the battle. Nabi collected herself and returned Bruno to his pokeball. "Thanks for the battle," she spoke to paxton concordas. "See ya around!" And just like that, she was gone, off to heal her pokemon at a center.[break][break]
