After taking a little break, Luka and Sugar feel refreshed and ready to go![break][break]

They'd sat out of a few matches, but it's probably for the best. After all, potions can only do so much. But now that Sugar has been able to properly rest, she's practically sprinting towards their next match![break][break]

Luka arrives shortly after her Sylveon, her skirts fluttering around her legs and cheeks flushed with exertion. But she still grins brightly at her opponent, waving at him from her side of the field.[break][break]

Hisuian Arcanine’s paws leave deep impressions next to him as she practically vibrates with excitement for the next match-up. Topaz is his rough and tough Pokemon, after all. Luka’s Sylveon mewls in agreement, the tips of her ribbons curling into little hearts as she steps onto her side of the field. It’s more of an adorable display than an aggressive one, but perhaps that’s an effective strategy in it’s own right. If they keep looking cute, it’ll be harder to hit them![break][break]

”Well then, let’s get started! Good luck, Monsieur! Let’s put on a great show!”[break][break]

Sugar bolts onto the field to make the first move, her ribbons extending and curling around her lithe body as she runs circles around the Arcanine. Close combat isn’t her style— instead, she quickly fires off a dazzling gleam towards her opponent. The burst of sparkling light might be easy to evade, but hopefully it’ll keep Topaz at a distance as she’s forced to dodge it.

His opponent wastes no time in starting the grand bout. A blinding DAZZLING GLEAM lights up the field, enough to make him shield his own gold eyes. But if you look closely, he is caught grinning the entire time. Topaz the Arcanine feels her trainer’s energy and while it’s difficult to get a clear picture of the tricky Sylveon, through limited vision she tries.[break][break]
Charged with the energy from the Tera Orb, sparks of electricity fly off the sturdy fire type. Distance isn’t an issue when sparks zig-zag in all directions, and she WILD CHARGE’s forward in an attempt to collide with the fairy type.[break][break]

The fairy type doesn’t need to be told twice. However, sparkling electricity still settles in her fur as she tries to evade the attack, making it stand on end. She looks like a little puffball, and hisses her displeasure.[break][break]

But despite a bad hair day, she’s otherwise unscathed. In her blindness, Topaz had charged right past her! [break][break]

Sugar’s ribbons curl and unfurl as she prepares her retaliation. A newfound grudge towards the Arcanine manifestis as she opens her maw, tiny fangs glinting in the light. The shadow ball that she unleashes pulses purple and speeds towards her opponent– proper payback for ruining her hair, in her opinion!

The bad hair day is enough to make both trainer and Pokemon laugh outloud. Sadly their maturity level is just about the same. However there’s no time to bask in the hilarity of the moment. Sylveon instantly retaliates and Arcanine has to fight back! Preparing for the SHADOW BALL Arcanine feels heat pile up in her lungs before unleashing a FLAMETHROWER to combat against the ball of ghastly energy.

“Awww, don’t laugh!”[break][break]

But Luka herself is holding back giggles as she looks at her little puffball of a Sylveon. Even though she’s angry, she looks so cute![break][break]

Sugar, meanwhile, is still unhappy. Worse yet, the shadow ball she’d unleashed is easily blasted out of the way by Topaz’s fireball, and that broiling heat reaches her before she can fully get out of the way.[break][break]

Her fur is now static-y and singed, and she’s furious. She growls and snaps and pulls out all the stops, her fury translated into a swirl of sparkling wind and sakura petals. A springtide storm comes rushing towards the Arcanine, seeking to trap the oversized canine in a whirlwind of glittering pink.

Cute but ferocious, Sylveon has proved itself not a foe to be taken lightly. Despite Topaz snickering at the other Pokemon’s singed fur, she continues to keep her guard up. Arcanine tenses as fairy dust collects at its feet, and that’s when eyes glow fiercely in retaliation. [break][break]
The messy combination of flame from it’s natural typing, and electricity from the tera energy together. It can only be described as the move RAGING FURY. Hot flames come out in waves as the Arcanine howls, aiming for the Sylveon.[break][break]

"You've got this, Sugar!" Luka cheers, waving her pom poms. "You're doing so well, sweetie!"[break][break]

Sugar yips and braces herself as Topaz cloaks herself in flames. The Arcanine is faster than her, but Sugar is small and nimble and manages to zip across the field just enough that she only sustains a glancing blow from the attack.[break][break]

This entire experience has been a nightmare for her fur. Though Sugar manages to avoid taking the brunt of Topaz's raging fury, she still has to deal with the fallout. Static electricity continues to crackle around her, and there's dirt on her paws to boot. She'll need a proper bath after all this.[break][break]

But a little dirt and a bad hair day isn't enough to bring her down. If anything, it's more motivation to take down her enemy! She aims a shadow ball at the canine as they chase each other around, hoping to put more distance between them.

The yellow Arcanine is far less prissy about getting dirty. Though unlike the gutsy Sylveon, her endurance is visibly wearing thin. They both have speed to them, and from the sidelines, it’s looks like a Tom and Jerry catfight. [break][break]
There’s an attempt at distance and it almost works. She narrowly dodges the SHADOW BALL, bursting forward as the beast’s maw opens in desperation. Looks like Arcanine is attempting to CRUNCH onto one of the tricky Sylveon’s magical ribbons. Take her down with them.[break][break]

The command comes just in time. Sugar just barely manages to evade Topaz's teeth as they come together with a mighty snap. She can feel the canine's hot breath against her leg, and shudders as she darts nimbly out of the way.[break][break]

It seems their strategy of evading and has worked nicely. Their opponent seems tired, her movements no longer as precise. Do they actually have a chance at winning this?[break][break]

Sugar certainly thinks so. She rears back her head and attacks with a final dazzling gleam, though this one seems less powerful than the first— more a display of pretty, glittering light than anything else. After all this, is she letting her enemy off easy?
