Luka still isn't used to having her own office. It's more conventional to hold meetings there, but it feels so formal that she still seeks outside rendezvous whenever possible. A coffee shop is much cozier, and it comes with it's own perks, such as the strawberry tea latte that sits steaming on her table.[break][break]

When her appointment arrives she stands, smiling cheerfully and holding her hand out to shake.[break][break]

"Thank you for meeting me! I hope this wasn't too far out of your way. Would, um, would you like me to get you anything?"[break][break]

The cafe has quite an extensive menu, after all. Luka sizes the man up, trying to figure out what he might order. A black coffee? Matcha? Or perhaps he'll surprise her with something full of cream and sugar.

The detective flashes a smile, one worthy of a gentleman as he cordially shakes her hand back. He can’t remember the last time he’s set foot in a quaint cafe like this. Whether it be on the clock or not. Usually he grabs his meals rather late, relying on convenience stores or whatever vending machine is around (yes, his diet is horrid.) Once pleasantries are out the way he grabs a seat across from her, quietly takes in the interior aesthetics of the cafe. He doesn’t take long to voice his order. [break][break]
“Ah, black coffee’s fine. I like to pair it with something sweet — like a donut! Makes for a nice combination.”

"Coffee and a donut, eh? You're proving the stereotypes true, monsieur," Luka says with a giggle. But her lighthearted teasing doesn't last long, for she quickly excuses herself to place an order for her companion. She's the one who had dragged him out here, so treating him is the least she can do.[break][break]

When she returns a few minutes later, she holds a black coffee in one hand and a frosted donut in the other. With a cheeky little smile, she sets both in front of him.[break][break]

"Okay, so! Not to cut pleasantries short or anything, but I'm sure you're a busy man. So I hope you don't mind me getting right to the point?"

“Haha. Well they stem from somewhere, don’t they?” [break][break]
An officer’s work is never done. Though, Tai has a knack for making his schedule unusually free. Despite working diligently when given a task he’s a true slacker at heart. But, he can’t think of a better way to spend his afternoon other than with the beautiful woman before him.[break][break]
Once set on the table, the detective wastes no time digging into his complimentary snack and drink. The perfect combination of bitter and sweet. But he waits to swallow his helping before speaking again, he’s not completely without manners (no matter what his colleagues say about him!)[break][break]
“Not at all, xinh.” He says softly with a visible wink, while a smile forms hidden behind the sweet pastry in hand.[break][break]
“Although if I'm allowed to be honest… I’m a little surprised I was sent out for this. Not that I don’t want the work! I welcome it. But I'm more used to being “in the shadows” so to speak. But! I'm happy to help anyway I can.”
