Matias, one of the Elite Four... Though Makoto recognized him, they weren't sure what to make of him. And though Makoto heard of and knew of Dynamaxing, actually seeing it in action was something else.

The Meowth towered tall, casting a long shadow over the battlefield - and they, frankly, were a little intimidated to be facing such a high-profile trainer, and a pokemon who was high-profile in a whole other sense...

... But, Tsukiko was abso-fucking-lutely vibing. He went BIG! When would she get to go BIG!? All she could do right now was go crystal-y glow-y! That and casually start petal-y whirlwinds and become a walking lightbulb, but yaknow, that stuff was just standard fare, right?

Which was what was going to happen right now - Makoto bringing out their Tera Orb to terastallize Tsukiko into pure Ice type.

for such a big pokemon, meowth sure seems to move fast as it TRAILBLAZES right into ninetales, looking to slam into it.[break][break]

Like a speeding truck, Meowth charges forward - and Tsukiko blinks owlishly at first at the sheer acceleration on display! How was she going to deal with this?!

Her first thought is to try and maintain distance between the both of them, however - letting loose a tera-boosted Blizzard in the Meowth's direction to try and blow it back..!

matias is caught off guard by the intensity of the BLIZZARD that's strong enough to blow meowth all the way back. frost begin to creep onto meowth, slowing it down despite its attempted TRAILBLAZE. he could intervene with his DESOLATE LAND but that seems a bit overkill and petty for what is meant to be a friendly tournament.[break][break]

so, he doesn't do anything and watches meowth return a THUNDER at Makoto Kurumi's ninetales.[break][break]

The stormy clouds above rumble - and as electricity arcs from the Meowth, Tsukiko is forced to try and dodge from side to side to avoid the bolts of lightning coming down!

Her answer is to try and let loose a Springtide Storm at the massive feline - in the hopes of stopping its electrical terror, and avoiding being electrocuted..!

dropping to two lives, Makoto Kurumi takes the decisive lead, and now it's up to him to pull it back. he doesn't have much confidence in meowth to do so, but he's stuck with it so he supposes he should at least try to support it.[break][break]

Okay, so far so good..! Tsukiko didn't expect for her to be able to take this titanous feline on so easily - but she wasn't complaining!

The flurry of Power Gems that came her way, though, were an issue - and there wasn't so much that she could do against it, upscaled as the projectile jewels were! So, she'd attempt to escape underground with Dig...

... And upon burrowing, she was eager to pop out behind the Meowth and ambush it, like the (comparatively) little anklebiter she was!

Fire rages, and Tsukiko yelps as she's caught in the midst of it. The only thing that keeps her from immediately KO-ing from the ferocious fire attack - from such a large pokemon no less - is both the natural protection the snow from Snow Warning offers, and an Aurora Veil she sets up to further weather it.

But as the blaze dies down, she's ready to retaliate, even if she's now on the back foot. Her tails light aflame in draconic violet, and she attempts to slam them into Meowth's legs in a Dragon Hammer to try and trip the feline up..!

able to bring it back to two-one up, matias takes the lead, and now it's up to him to hold on to it as he looks to close out this battle against Makoto Kurumi.[break][break]

tripped by DRAGON HAMMER, meowth stumbles but does not fall. it remains on its feet, standing very tall, but the nature of BLAST BURN makes it so it has to spend most of the round recharging.[break][break]

that doesn't mean it can't fire off a POWER GEM still, no matter how weakened.[break][break]

Though the Meowth staggers a little, it does not fall, and it is still fighting - a Power Gem striking Tsukiko dead-on. It is softened by the Aurora Veil but still leaves her stumbling back. She's swaying, but not down yet.

And eager to try and bring the fight back under her control, she'd fall back on what worked - firing off another howling Blizzard at the Meowth..!

the only way to contend against BLIZZARD is with fire and heat, and so meowth's BLAST BURN erupts, sending heat waves through the battlefield, turning snow to water and then steam.[break][break]

it ends up the winner, standing triumphant as it shrinks back down to its regular size.[break][break]
