This match was bound to be one of her favorites. She adored Hideo Kino with her whole heart and she loved to watch him continue to grow, it was extremely satisfying and a rare sense of pride always welled up in her when she thought about it. [break][break]

This was one battle Hideo wasn't 100% trying to win: if loser made dinner, then that meant tasting Melody's cooking again.

But he couldn't just throw the match; he was a Gym Leader, and he had to put on a good performance.

Plus, he was just that competitive.

"Ready when you are!" Hideo said, donning his Z-ring as his Beheeyem took its spot in the arena.

She grinned, as soon as that gamble went out she saw his facial expression alter ever so slightly. [break][break]

"Alright Let's start off strong!" she exclaims as suddenly Primarina and the sygnasuit cry out together, one in voice and the other in light. [break][break]

Primarina starts of singing a sparkling aria as she tries to create a million smaller projectiles that linger in the air before she combos with a psychic to have them desecend upon his side of the field quickly. [break][break]

It was hard to keep a straight face when the possibility of facing Melody's cooking after this remained a threat.

But so did his cred as a Gym Leader.

The only winning move was not to play, but he was already here.

"Well, if you want to start off strong…"

Screw it, he wanted to power move on Melody. It was wholly unnecessary - even his Beheeyem was mentally telling him he shouldn't - but the energy was already moving from his Z-ring to his Beheeyem, energy building up within the psychic-type.

Which would soon manifest as a burst of Psychic energy, a Shattered Psyche pushing away the projectiles, going straight for the Primarina.

The psychic power in the arena is palpable, Melody's psychic attack was quickly nullified as Beheyeem took over everything. Primarina cried out in pain as psychic energy barraged her body and Melody was helpless to do anything about it. [break][break]

"No! What the fuck Hideo?!" well she did tell him to. [break][break]

Primarina quickly recovers and immediately springs to action "Misty terrain! Hyper voice!" she calls out as she tries to obscure his vision, not like it really mattered since hideo was blind already but the beheyeem might be surprised by the sudden explosion of pink? It wouldn't work long so melody took the opportunity to use an attack that wouldn't miss. [break][break]

Hideo merely shrugged, a smirk on his face. "Gotta put our best foot forward!" he said, his Beheeyem merely shaking its head at the reckless attack. It was wasteful, but getting a chance to style on Melody like that was worth it. "'Sides, if I win this, I get to say I beat an E4 member!"

He knew there wasn't any benefit to that kind of win. He'd beaten kyle lopez , and that didn't automatically make him Champion-ranked (or whatever the new system was). But the opportunity to taunt was worth it.

And he had to take that chance, because his Beheeyem warned him that combo the Primarina used was something it couldn't handle right after dealing with a Z-move. The best it could do was conjure up a Reflective barrier to slightly diminish the blow, and toss in a Rock Tomb at the Primarina, but it wasn't getting out of this attack unscathed.

Oh well.
