The very first journey of Zachary went from blissfully simple, to unspeakably tragic as he encountered one of his favorite Pokemon. An Abra. The elusive psychic type rumored to be the starter form of one of the best psychic Pokemon around. He had wanted to have one since he was a kid. [break][break] He had found one with his evolved Delphox, he named Dizzy. And was trying to catch it. However, it did what Abra's would do. Sleep and disappear via teleporting. [break][break]

But Zachary had no intention to give up, so he tried to find it again. The little Pokemon kept resting by riversides and in the shade, as Zachary would PHYSICALLY try to sneak up on it-- but it would slip by him. But soon it wasn't just teleporting-- it was awake. It was watching them. It was laughing at them. [break][break] Then to add insult to injury, the Abra would teleport behind him. The sneaky psychic Pokemon took Zachary's tarot cards from his pocket and slipped away.

"Oh, that does it!" Zachary shouted, his face twisted with anger. [break][break]

Dizzy, his Delphox companion was surprised and shocked by both the anger of his trainer-- and the fact Abra stole from him. All the while, Abra currently sat on a tree branch. Eager to get his cards back from the Abra's paws, he climbed the tree to catch him-- no longer interested in catching Abra as a Pokemon, but as a thief who took his most prized possession. [break][break]

Abra continued to sit there-- till the change in weight caused the branch to crack. The sheer momentum was all that it took for Zachary and Abra to get closer. Determined, Zachary lunged his arms and grabbed hold of Abra's arm. "Gocha!" Zachary declared. [break][break]

It was then, however-- was how the chaos started. Light enveloped both Abra and Zachary. In the blink of an eye, Abra's teleport whisked him away, along with Zachary! [break][break]

Dizzy looked wide-eyed and concerned as he looked around, trying to find where his trainer had disappeared to. After a bit of time, the poor fox realized they were no where to be seen. Concerned and lonely, the fox gave a loud howl-- calling out to his trainer! [break][break]

He had lost his trainer-- and his trainer was now lost in the wilds too!

He was on assignment again. Apparently, someone had told headquarters about a problem in Meteor Falls. Something about a Pokémon causing a disturbance. Since he was currently free, he had been tasked with investigating and reporting his findings once he discovered the nature of the problem.

As he walked through Meteor Falls, he pondered what the issue could be. Perhaps it was an injured wild Pokémon. That was the only possibility he could think of, especially considering the numerous assignments he had received involving injured Pokémon. It was his least favorite type of mission. He would much rather deal with injured people than Pokémon.
[break][break]
It wasn't because he didn't like Pokémon. Quite the opposite, actually. He cared more for Pokémon than people, in most cases. However, if he had to choose between helping an injured person or an injured Pokémon, he would choose the person. Seeing an injured Pokémon pained him more.
[break][break]
The cry of a Pokémon interrupted his thoughts, causing him to come to a stop. He scanned his surroundings, trying to locate the source of the cry. The sound repeated, and he turned in the direction it came from. It sounded nearby, so he assumed he wouldn't have to search for long before finding the Pokémon responsible for the cry.
[break][break]
With that in mind, he began to make his way towards the sound. As he approached, he could distinguish the cry more clearly. 'A Delphox,' he thought curiously, just as he came across the fox Pokémon.

He observed the Pokémon, noting its behavior. Based on its actions, he didn't believe it was a wild Pokémon. It seemed more likely that it had become separated from its owner.

"Hey there little one, did you get separated from your trainer?" he asked softly, his usual impassive expression softening. In the dim lighting, he couldn't discern any features that would indicate the Pokémon's gender, so he opted for a more gender-neutral term until he could be certain.

Hoping to have caught the Pokémon's attention, he spoke again. "How about we find your owner?"[break] zachary stellar

The moment that lonliness and sadness seeped into Dizzy's heart, he heard the sound of another. His ears perked up and he looked to find another human. An older man with pink hair! When asked if he was separated from his trainer-- Dizzy was happy to hear he caught on quickly. Unlike what many would presume, Dizzy was very intelligent being a long-time trained Pokemon. The fox jumped up close to the man, eagerly barking and waving his stick about to try to explain what happened. He even tried to 'mimic' the face of Abra, to indicate what happened. [break][break] Naturally, barking and waving his stick would get him nowhere... so he tried to explain in one way he knew. Taking a moment to think, Dizzy faced a nearby grassy patch. He took a sharp breath, and blew a puff of his Flamethrower! Fire scorched the ground in front of him, burning the grass and softening the soil below! Taking his stick, he began to draw. He drew out a figure, Zachary, and the small impish creature-- Abra! Of course, Dizzy's artwork was left for interpretation, as the Abra looked dramatically more evil with sharp teeth and creepy eyes and pointy ears-- resembling more of a Sabeleye. He further tried to draw the aura of 'teleport' and then the poof-- but would end with the Fox trying to gesture the 'poof-- gone' method. It was one big game of pictionary for poor Ever! [break][break] The lack of understanding, of course made Dizzy more frustraited and crossly glare at him as if he had been 'leering'. [break][break]

Meanwhile[break][break]
Everything blurred as Zachary grabbed hold to Abra as the terrain and scenes changed! Light and colors swirled as if they were tossed inside of a washing machine! "WHHAAAAAAA...!" Zachary shouted. [break][break] Abra now in a panic, was Teleporting to any conceivable place it could go! In another tree, up in the air, a nearby road-- before blipping to the next part. Zachary's head was spinning, verging on feeling naucious as they were sent to random locations along Abra's sense of awareness. [break][break] A splash and sudden stop of their teleport made Zachary gasp-- as there was no air and he was suddenly wet! Both he and Abra were now underwater somewhere, in some lake. The two looked at one another, almost equally baffled. [break][break] A sudden disturbance in the water drew their attention to a growing shadow. The two turned, soon spotting IT[break][break]

[break][break]
The massive maw and beady eyes of a Garaydos glamed before them-- as the massive water serpent dragon Pokemon caught sight of its next meal.[break][break] "GYAAAAAAA!!!" Both screamed as they clung to eachother! In that moment, Abra teleported all the same while clinging to Zachary. The two teleported the moment the serpent attempted to crunch down on them, missing them! The serpenet just continued on... as if his latest prey had never been there. [break][break]
This continued for some time, as who knew where Abra was teleporting them. It was entirely possible, Abra had no control where he wanted to go and was just going anywhere to try and elude Zachary. [break][break]

Though caught off guard by the Delphox's sudden proximity, he didn't show it. Despite realizing it belonged to someone, he hadn't expected it to be so willing to approach him. He had always seen himself as a lover of Pokémon, so he decided to put aside how he felt to try and figure out what the Delphox was telling him.

And he had no clue.
[break][break]
To him, it seemed like the Delphox was trying to play a game of charades with someone who wasn't very good at the game. He couldn't make heads or tails of what the Delphox was trying to tell him. And this was coming from someone who had gotten pretty good at reading body language.
[break][break]
Making a helpless gesture, he watched as the Delphox changed tactics. Now, instead of trying to act out what had happened, the Delphox tried to draw what had happened instead.
[break][break]
A lot of good that was doing, though. All he was getting was that his trainer's disappearance had something to do with a Pokémon. A Sableye, maybe. He couldn't be too sure.
[break][break]
He could see that his lack of comprehension was annoying the Delphox, and he pinched the bridge of his nose as he debated what to do. A sudden noise drew his attention, and his gaze swept the area around him. His gaze finally landed on some nearby water, and he cautiously approached to see a Carvanha.
[break][break]
Well, that gave him an idea.
[break][break]
Taking a Pokéball in hand, he pushed the button to release the Pokémon inside. A Sharpedo appeared in the water, and he addressed the dual-type Pokémon. "Hey Jet, do a bit of communication with the Pokémon, won't you?" he inquired.
[break][break]
Once Jet had his task, all there was to do was sit back and wait. He kept his eye on the Pokémon as he waited. And finally, it seemed that Jet had something.
[break][break]
"If you have something, lead the way. I'll follow along on land. I need to stay with the Delphox for now. If it comes down to it, the Delphox can ride you and I'll swim," he said, hoping it wouldn't come to the latter.

Jet seemed to be in some kind of agreement and started to swim through the water. "Come on, we should follow him."[break] zachary stellar

The Fox didn't like the idea that this human couldn't understand him. So he tried another way. Taking the stick once more, he began to have it spark fire. He was using Mystical Fire, and drew a big circle of the fire in the air. As the fire floated, Dizzy gave a bark to command the fire and the flames began to turn a hue of different colors. The circle of fire began to shift and the inside of the circle began to warp-- the flames creating images like a television almost. After a moment-- Ever could see it, as it replayed Dizzy's memory he created in the flames. It was as clear as it soon showed Zachary-- along with him trying to climb a tree to catch the Abra from before. It showed it perfectly, from the part where the Abra stole Zachary's cards-- to when he grabbed him and was forcefully teleported with him. [break][break]While he did make the image, the presence of the odd fish Pokemon appeared. Dizzy too barked his questions tot he fish-- but it only resulted in a rather badly timed Water Gun at his face. Dizzy soon looked like a drowned rat, an angry leer on his face as he looked to Ever. Regardless, the Delphox was eager to find his master and followed him.

Meanwhile[break][break]
The insides of the caves were quiet, honeycombed with streams and rivers and waterfalls. The rushing water, sounds of life and darkness of the caves made the place very mysterious. Things were quiet there-- until the flicker of psychic light sparkled in the dark. The shine of a teleport broke through-- and followed by the cry of Zachary as they dropped from out of nowhere with Abra in hand. The two crashed into the ground, now dizzy from all their teleport hopping. The smack into the ground caused Zachary to let go of Abra. The two were on the ground, both exhausted and dazed. Slowly, Zachary regained his composure and rubbed his hed. "Ugh... jeez... Now where are we?" Zachary groaned as he looked around, seeing the open areas of the cave he was in. He had no idea just how far away he was-- and it only occured to him now, he was now seperated from Dizzy! Everything sped back to him as he remembered, and then looked to his side to see Abra soon sitting beside him. [break][break] "Kr-kruu. Ku!" Abra grumbled glaring at Zachary as he too sat up. [break][break] Zachary glared at Abra angrily, and pointed back to him. "Alright, you! First, give me back my cards, and second, where the hell did you teleport us anyway? We are no where near where we started and you left my Pokemon all alone!" Zachary said, both annoyed and rude. [break][break] The Abra looked quietly at Zachary. It didn't do anything-- that was till it raised its paw, and pulled one of its eyelids down-- and stuck out its tongue in a mocking face. [break][break] Zachary's face twitched in irritation. The Abra wasn't even the least bit apologetic! [break][break] It was in that moment, light formed around Abra-- telling him he was about to Teleport again. Before Zachary could even panic about being left behind in a strange location-- the light around Abra 'popped' and dissipated. Abra still remained. Oddly, Abra looked just as perplexed as Zachary was that the creature was still there. [break][break] Surprise soon turned to a smart-ass look from Zachary as he crossed his arms against his chest. "Oooooh, so you used up all your energy with all that teleporting huh?" Zachary asked sarcastically, seeing that Abra now had no juice left to pull off his little trick. Abra tried again, but nothing happened, and soon looked up at Zachary sheepishly. [break][break] With that, Abra did the one thing he could-- he soon dashed physically to a stalagmite nearby to try and hide from Zachary. Zachary was annoyed-- till Abra tripped. [break][break] It was then Zachary saw it-- Abra had soon had a gash along its foot. He had not seen it before, but with the memory of the Gerados attack, maybe in the struggle and teleport, Abra had hurt himself. "Wha... your hurt?" Zachary asked. "Did you get that when we teleported all that time?" [break][break]
Abra didn't answer and just got up and hid behind a nearby Stalagmite as it peered back to Zachary. It still gave an angry grunt to the human, not liking him. Zachary glared at the Abra. He still had his cards and he had sent them to a place that didn't seem to have an easy exit. They were now in the center of a natural labyrinth. "Well serves you right, doing such things. I would have half the mind to leave you here, you know?" Zachary grumbled, feeling resentful to the Abra. Rare pokemon or not, Abra was a mean creature and wasn't worth the headache. He now had to find a way out. As he turned, determine to find a way out of the cave, the soft cry of Abra made him pause... [break][break] He glanced back. Despite it all, Abra couldn't teleport, and now was injured. Thief or not, and rude-- could he really just leave the little creature there. Though it was bitter at Zachary too, left on its own without the power to teleport out of danger in this cave, could be dangerous... [break][break] And in the end, Zachary wasn't that cold-hearted. [break][break] Before long, Zachary now held Abra piggy-back on his back. His arms held Abra by his legs, while the Pokemon rested his arms along his shoulders-- Abra's head resting on the back as it would peek over his shoulder to see. Abra let out soft purrs and cooes as it was carried. "You better give me back my cards when this is over. And you owe me an apology to me AND Dizzy when we find him again." [break][break] Abra didn't reply as it just rested on the trainer's back. [break][break] However, as they now navigated the large cave system-- they were far from alone. All kinds of Pokemon dwelled there, including a certain vicious one whom now lurked through the cavern walls-- and spotted the two alone that stuck out like a sore thumb. It leered at them, very curious. [break][break]

Unsurprisingly, the Delphox wasn't the only one who didn't like the way things were going. Ever didn't like it either. He didn't like the fact that he couldn't figure out what Dizzy was trying to tell him through body language.

Reading body language was an art he had perfected.
[break][break]
He kind of had to, considering the kind of father he had. It was good to know what kind of mood his father was in to know how he should act, or if he should avoid him. Not that it had mattered very often. Ever, if anything, was very opinionated, and that had often landed him in trouble despite trying to judge someone's mood.
[break][break]
So the fact that he couldn't judge what Dizzy was trying to tell him from watching his body language was a sore spot for him.
[break][break]
Luckily, the fox Pokémon seemed to think of another way to tell him what had happened, and he started to watch as Dizzy began to use mystic fire.
[break][break]
His gaze remained on the fire as shapes began to form in the flames, showing him what had transpired. Showing him that an Abra had taken away the Delphox's owner, presumably by accident.
[break][break]
"Damn, that complicates things. But hopefully we can figure out where they teleported to," he said, trying to figure out just how they would accomplish that.
[break][break]
In the end, he decided to use Jet as a means of communicating with a wild Pokémon. Apparently, Jet was more well-received than Dizzy, considering she got a face full of water when she tried to interact with the wild Pokémon.

He gave Jet an apologetic look, even if it really wasn't his fault, before telling him to follow, since Jet had seemed to find information on the whereabouts of his trainer.

As he followed after Jet by land, he considered releasing Nyx from her Pokéball to scout ahead. Much like he had done on an earlier ranger mission, it would keep them from running into any surprises while also giving them the advantage of an extra set of eyes. Nyx, being a Gliscor, was also better suited for finding things in this kind of setting and could easily double back if she was successful in the task.

In the end, he decided it couldn't hurt and released Nyx from her Pokéball, telling her to scout ahead and alert them if she found the Delphox's trainer while she was scouting.[break] zachary stellar

Zachary sprinted as far as he could, but the dragon was fast. Even for a ghost. He was prepared to keep going till he skidded to a stop, finding an edge to the path. The floor ended to a cliff, overlooking one of the running streams of the cave. Holding Abra, looked into the water, concerned if they could jump in and survive. "Talk about being between a rock and a hard place..." Zachary grumbled. Abra added on more as he grumbled too-- not voting to jump into the water. [break][break] It was then that suddenly a black bird Pokemon appeared and attempted to deviate the big dragon. It let out a cry as the sand got blasted into its eyes, blinding it. Zachary blinked, finding it all good timing. He looked around, trying to find a hiding place-- till he found a giant, round boulder of all things. He quickly ducked behind it and leaned against it, keeping hidden. [break][break] "Ahhh... this should keep us safe for a moment..." he said. Abra felt okay too... till he looked at a certain hole in the rock-- finding a pair of eyes look back at him. [break][break] "Ku-kurr! Kruu!" Abra shouted, pointing to the eyes in the rock. [break][break] Curious, Zachary looked soon finding it wasn't a rock he was leaning against. It was a shell, and the hole soon revealed eyes of something alive in there. "W-whoh!!" Zachary jumped.

The rock wasn't a rock-- but a Shelgon of all things, as it moved, acknowledging Zachary and Abra. [break][break] In that moment, as the Dragapult was distracted by the sand attack-- it soon let out a roar, and from its head, a series of tiny Dreepy dragons began to erupt from the head. They didn't attack in direct shoots-- but were out like a hoard of dragons, now filling the air around it. (Infestation). The dragons began to sprawl all over the place, trying to find the target of the main Dragapul's interest. The small Dreepy began to fly and surround Zachary and Abra-- along with Shelgon, pestering them. Though they didn't appear malevolent, they wouldn't leave them alone. "Gah! Hey, stop it! Shoo! Shoo!" Zachary urged, Abra too swiping a paw to keep them away from it-- though one landed on its head, adding to the silly situation. They too began to surround and pester Shelgon-- causing its eyes to narrow with anger. [break][break] As time passed-- the shell of Shelgon began to suddenly become red with anger and a growl of frustration began to show on the creature's 'face'. It was now using Rage-- ticked off by the pestering creatures that disturbed its nap. Zachary backed away from the dragon, clearly not wanting to suffer its wrath. [break][break]

From outside, Dizzy and Ever continued to march on in hopes to find Zachary and Abra. The fox kept up with Ever, but the look of concern was still clear on Dizzy's face. He was worried about the trainer he grew up with. Zachary and Dizzy been inseperable for years. The little Fox as a Finniken was raised by him and grew up with years, becoming smart and strong together. But Dizzy always looked out for Zachary, just as much as he did for him. He couldn't imagine what danger Zachary was in. "Krukruuu.." Dizzy whimpered a bit. [break][break] It was then that the shout from the cave reached Dizzy's ears. He heard him-- Zachary! The echo of his distant voice made the Fox dart around, trying to hear more where it came from it. Dizzy began to bark at Ever-- indicating he heard his master. He soon pointed a stick towards the waterfalls-- and inevvitably the cave system that lied beyond it! [break][break]

He was starting to wonder just how far Abra had teleported with the Delphox's trainer. Though he knew teleport could cover a large distance, he had still expected to run into them by now. But they had spent what felt close to an hour walking around. Though it was possible it actually hadn't been that long, and lack of sleep was finally catching up to him, making him impatient.

While walking, he kept an eye on their surroundings while also keeping an ear out for Nyx, who had flown ahead to scout and add an extra set of eyes on their search.
[break][break]
Hopefully, Nyx would be able to locate them if they didn't find them first. But it was seeming more and more likely that if anyone would find them first, it would be Nyx, since she had flown ahead. And the likelihood of her missing them was slim to none.

Every now and then, he would look to see how the Delphox was holding up before checking on Jet. Both Pokémon seemed fine, even Jet. Though he was well aware that eventually, they would run out of water for Jet to swim in.

While Ever and the Delphox were going around the outer edge of Meteor Falls, Nyx had flown ahead in the hopes of finding Zachary and the Abra, hopefully before anything bad could happen.

She was in the middle of doing just that when she heard something from further inside Meteor Falls.

Curious, she decided to follow the sound.
[break][break]
Upon following the sound, she would come across a boy running away from a Dragapult. She wondered if this was the boy her trainer was looking for. Seriously, what were the chances of another boy and an Abra being together?

Figuring this was the person her trainer was seeking, she would swoop past Zachary before using Sand Attack, hoping to temporarily slow down or blind the Dragapult so they could have time to regroup with Ever and Dizzy before the Dragapult could recover.
[break][break]
Not waiting to see if her attack was successful, she would fly back to Zachary, easily falling in beside the trainer and Abra. The saddle strapped to her back would show that she belonged to someone and not a wild Pokémon.

She would fly a bit ahead of them for a bit before circling back, repeating the motion as if to tell them to follow her.[break] zachary stellar

That shout sounded human. He didn't want to jump to conclusions and just assume it was Zachary, so his gaze flickered to Dizzy. From the way he was acting, the person who shouted was his trainer. That was good, it meant they had found him. Well, not found him exactly, but now they knew where to go.

Unfortunately, the male was in a cavern that led behind the waterfall, meaning he would probably end up a little wet.
[break][break]
Resisting the urge to sigh, he began to make his way towards the waterfall, knowing he wouldn't have to bother beckoning the dual type to follow. She would just follow him.
[break][break]
Pressing himself as close to the wall as he could, he tried to get as little wet as possible as he slipped around the waterfall to the cavern behind it. His shirt got a little wetter than he wanted, but he supposed there was nothing to do about it now.
[break][break]
Once he was sure they were both in the cavern behind the waterfall, he would start to trek deeper into the cavern. They hadn't gone very far when they stumbled across a shiny Jynx.
[break][break]
He barely had time to admire that it was shiny before it attacked. Recognizing the move as Ice Punch, he barely managed to dodge in time, the attack grazing his leg a bit.
[break][break]
Ignoring it, he released Volt, his Zebstrika, from his pokeball and had him use Thunder Wave on the Jynx before she could go for another attack.
[break][break]
With the ice type being a bit paralyzed, he took out an empty pokeball and tossed it at the Pokémon.
[break][break]
Not waiting for it to stop shaking, he picked it up before he started walking again. Hopefully, they would find Zachary soon.[break] zachary stellar

As they approached the waterfall-- Dizzy hesitated. Ever and his Pokemon went through without pause. But the fire fox pokemon hated water. He already got squirt already. Still, he wasn't about to abandon his trainer. With a reluctant growl, the fox pokemon tucked in his stick into his bushy tail and took a deep breath. Dizzy dove through the waterfall as best as he could. [break][break]By the time Ever had captured his new Jinx-- Dizzy emerged from the falls. The poor fox was drenched wet-- looking more like a drowned rat than any kind of fox. An angry glare was on his face for his misfortune. In an effort to get dry-- he began to shake his body and fur all over. Sadly-- that also made Ever wet from the water as well all over again as he tried to get dry. [break][break] The sounds of battle were in the distance, further in the caverns. While they knew where to go-- they still had a distance left... [break][break]

[break][break] The mini Dreepy from the Dragapult continued to fly all over. They were not 'hurting' them, but still provided no rest or irritation. Abra consistantly tried to swat them away as they got too close to him. Even with the Shelgon next to them, the swarm continued to bother them. "For crying out loud. Will you stop! Hey, we don't need you telling the big one where--." The sound of a growl caught his attention. He turned to his left to soon find the tooth grinning face of Dragapult, as the little ones that came from his head pretty much told him where they were. Zachary gave a sarcastic glare to the Dreepy nearby. "You snitches..." [break][break] Dragapult soon roared and lunged-- performing an Assurance attack! It rammed into them, using the distraction of the Dreepy to send Zachary, Abra and Shelgon flying further along the cliffside. [break][break] Zachary held on tight to Abra as he hit the ground. The wild Dragapult was going crazy at this point-- either angry or fooling around so aggressively, who could tell! However-- Shelgon was having none of it as it glared back through its shell. Her very body was red with fury as it looked up. With a loud roar-- a multi-colored beam of energy shot from its opening, and right at Dragapult. The blast was strong, and Dragapult quickly reared away, flying around from the impact it received. [break][break] Returning to his feet, Zachary smiled at the Shelgon. "Wow... thank you Shelgon. So sorry for disturbing your nap." he said with a smile. The Shelgon gave a gratifying snort to him, as if to say 'you're welcome'. [break][break] However, the danger was not over as the Dragapult started to rear back. About to make another run to try and attack. [break][break] That was it for Zachary. He had to protect Abra, and wasn't about to be bullied by this dragon. "Alright, time for some payback. I'm not gonna stand here and do nothing." Urging Abra to hold on, Zachary dug into his pocket and pulled out a Pokeball-- one with an odd 'zero' on the top of it. He tossed it up to the air and snatched it as it grew to size. [break][break] "Let's go-- HAPPY!!" Zachary shouted as he threw the ball. [break][break] The pokeball opened and out appeared a flash of light. The light took shape and soon scattered-- revealing, an adoable Mime Jr of all things. "Mi-miiii!" Happy cheered, excited to be out. Despite the situation, his funny appearance made him all the more dumbfounding to be called out in a life-or-death situation. Seeing it himself, Abra gave a sigh of dismay as if to say 'we're doomed'. [break][break] "Happy, focus! Zachary urged, and Happy turned to them. In that moment-- the incoming Dragapult's body glowed-- preparing and charged in with DRAGON RUSH!! "We're in a bad situation here! Use Reflector!" [break][break] Happy saw the incoming attack and soon prepared. The little clown glowed bright and with a positive cheer-- raised its arms up high as it could. A flash of light transformed into a translucent barrier. The barrier was solid as Dragapult charged-- meeting resistance upon the shield Happy created. It protected them, even though Happy clearly was straining to hold it against the stronger dragon's assault. [break][break]
