A humid, lush jungle surrounds you. The heat is unbearable and the air is thick. Sweat clings to the skin like a Spidops' silk.[break][break]

Suddenly, a deafening explosion sounds behind you. A volcano has erupted. A lethal pyroclastic descends upon you and your Cyclizar, and you must race against the clock for your lives.[break][break]

“So!” Navy screams from atop a charging Cyclizar. A volcano far in the distance rumbles, raining fire upon the jungle canopy. They run for their lives. Thin Lizzy is no simulated beast, but a true, living creature. Her saddle has adjusted to the scenario, but she remains his dragon.[break][break]
“We’re gonna run into Dialga. Pretty crazy, huh?” Under any other circumstance, he would feel like kyle lopez, to say it that bluntly. There are few creatures in the known or unown multiverse as dangerous as Dialga, lord of time itself. It waits for them, the scripts running this simulation prepping to trigger an inevitable conclusion.[break][break]
But who are the people of Hoenn, if not a group dedicated to raging against inevitable ends?

Just like with Andrea Vaneau . Only difference? Genny is a little more-prepared, and revs the Cyclizar a little, dodgeing one of the volcano's raining fireballs with a quick slide, getting back onto the track.[break][break]

Overconfident, maybe. But not so bad. "Let them come, then." Her hazel eyes burn, emblazoned by her own capability. Running next to her, her trusted Arcanine, Zagreus, keeping up easily with Genny and Navy both, speeding up as the fire dog lets loose his own capability. How?[break][break]

"Take it, Zag!"[break][break]

Leaping upwards, and blocking one of the incoming fireballs, Zagreus ingests via FLASH FIRE, and speeds up further with AGILITY.[break][break]

Zag is one of Genny's finest, after all. And she grins over to Navy.[break][break]

"Not my first rodeo, cowboy!"

A ROAR OF TIME can be heard and suddenly, you feel your surroundings fast forwarding, rewinding, pausing. Your body and Cyclizar teleport in and out of time and space before you find yourself on a cold rock outcropping.[break][break]

Before you, a Dialga stands menacingly. Its chest diamond is a blood red and orange, magmatic veins course through its body. Suddenly, it charges toward you in a frenzied state.[break][break]

“Sounds like you’ve got it under control then, cowgirl.” Looking down at Lizzy, he grips the clutch binding the saddle to her. It’s a signal to downshift. She slows her mad dash out into the jungle.[break][break]
“Looks like you’re leading this dance, then.” [break][break]

The jungle gives way to a clearing Dialga screams down at them. Fury wells in his red eyes. This monster is a god, worshipped by many. His is the domain of time. This is a monster that stood at the creator’s side when the world was made. He has deigned Himself her nemesis today. Opening His maw, power gathers. Raw steel might sprays out at Genny, chasing after her and her Pokemon.[break][break]
Looks like the chase is on. Navy stays a step or two behind, bringing up the rear as Dialga focuses His attention on Genny. She is, he’s sure Isaac Merlo would agree, good at making herself the center of attention.

Sheriff isn't wrong at all, and as the Cyclizar under her teleports with that familiarity, that fading out of time, Genny once more slides into a sideways stop, as Navy follows behind. And once again, just like before, there they are. Dialga.[break][break]

Zagreus, running by the side of Genny now, and slowing his pace down to match the Cyclizar, Genny holds her arm out, and Zagreus is able to, in one motion, pull her off and onto his back. Now, they're cooking with gas, eyeing down the god of time, and Genny is at her prime, she holds on. All of that work with Josh Devlin in the Gym Battle, that made her confident.[break][break]

"Let's kick it into gear then, cowboy."[break][break]

Hazel eyes fierce, she calls out the most important move.[break][break]

"Flare Blitz." It's dangerous to do on his back, but Genny can take the heat. Kyurem's heat was hotter. With a rush forward, with a bounce left, and a bounce right, Genny made sure that Dialga was focused on the burning hot wolf, and before long, the striped wolf got closer and closer.[break][break]

"Everything you got, Zag!"[break][break]

And the collision into metal, that FLARE BLITZ is hot, its smooth, and it's not hurting Genny at all.

It is a good maneuver, brilliant even. Navy watches, dazzled from where Lizzy and he sit. Lizzy lopes through the jungle, her eyes trained on a draconic wolf and the girl that would challenge a god. Dialga is struck, reeling, spinning back through the jungle. He floats by sheer power, crushing down massive redwoods in the process.[break][break]
“Heads up!” Navy shouts, pulling Lizzy into the maneuver they called him a madman for during the Aqua Assembly. Pulling on the clutch, he slides Lizzy almost totally onto her side. The momentum of the wheels keep her spinning, spinning, spinning in mad circles. Her rapid spin brings them under a collapsing tree as it falls, preventing any real injury. Rider and mount right themselves, pressing on madly through the jungle.[break][break]
For a brief moment, he wonders what it would feel like to ride her synergized via a sync stone. Sadly, he has bonded with other Pokemon, slower Pokemon.[break][break]
Dialga recovers, and His eyes turn upon Genny. Opening his maw, he roars. Close range roaring is, usually, unwise. It leaves one open, vulnerable, exposes their mouths. Dialga does not care for human logic. His roar is a roar of time, an imposition of His will upon the flow of causality. Though He is a simple simulation of the real thing, the data leads their data to the same conclusion.[break][break]
His wounds mend. Time bends around Genny, a tree growing from seed to bloom directly in front of her blazing wolf. Dialga sets her on a collision course right for that tree.

Navy's got himself handled, and Genny needs to put keep them both safe against Dialga, and pushing them further into the jungle was a great way to start. With the opening of the maw, comes the famed ROAR OF TIME, and from it all the damage she and Zag caused recovered immediately, and worse, a tree sits in front of them in an obstacle. Turning her head a moment to see that Navy was still fine, she pulls out a Pokeball.[break][break]

Out comes the blade, the Honedge upon the hand of the riding redhead, hazel eyes with fire, as she lets the blade free to her side. The one she got from Navy, and reeling her hand back at the ready to pitch, she throws the blade forward.[break][break]

"Cleave it down, open the way!"[break][break]

With a GYRO BALL, Gram the Honedge flies forward from Genny's hand, spinning like a sawblade to shear the simulated tree down, as Genny's hazel eyes flare up more.[break][break]

"Zag, again!"[break][break]

Speeding up again, Zagreus may hurt more, but FLARE BLITZ once more came through, to attack the vulnerable god of time, coating in flame again, with Gram returning to her hand soon after clearing the way.[break][break]

"You doing good, cowboy?" she shouts out to Navy, a few light red burns on her skin. Zagreus was a dangerous one, but Genny knew she could take the heat.

- Oh, Dialga wants to heal and summon an attackable tree to strike them? Genny's got the fix. Thanks to Navy, Gram the Honedge is out.[break]
- Thrown into a saucer blade GYRO BALL to cut that tree down, and strike with Zagreus' FLARE BLITZ.[break]
- She is making sure Navy is okay first, before she continues, Gram returning to her hand.

“Screee.” Thin Lizzy finishes. That was a damn fine maneuver. The sheriff can’t say he knew Genny until after the battle, but even in that short time she’s seemed to have improved. There is unmistakable conviction in her orders.[break][break]
“Who, me?” He pulls up beside her, watching Zagreus once more flare blitz a god. Dialga is hit so hard that the simulation seems to glitch around the edges for a fraction of a heartbeat. His response is to chase after them with a steel beam, scorching fertile earth until a wasteland in their wake. Volcanoes explode, Pokemon are screaming, it feels like the end times are upon time.[break][break]
“I’m just fine, Zacian.” Teasing her with the name, he revs the clutch and drives on. The steel beam is drawing closer, but he has just the solution to that problem.[break][break]
“Got a Z-Move ready to go? Wanna see what happens when two hit Dialga at the same time.” Hattori slips free from his ball, the little frog clinging to Navy’s back.[break][break]
“Let’s send the god of time flying.”

Conviction is definitely something Genny has within herself now. In that moment of cleaving the way through, with Gram returning to hand, and charging in, Genny knocked the God of Time back with her Pokemon, and with her hair scorched at the tips, she can't muster another Zagreus blitz, and neither can he.[break][break]

But seeing Navy pull up next to her, has the redhead grin, even more so to the teasing name, not bothered by the simulated STEEL BEAM, because, as Navy responds.[break][break]

He must look mad to her, for what he does next. Navy drives Thin Lizzy right into the steel beam, right under the dynamaxed Pokemon. Once more, he sees the simulation glitch. He sees red numbers flash across his screen, meaningless data. Focusing, he disappears.[break][break]
In the place of the trainer and all his Pokemon is a simple wood log. Hattori’s substitution jutsu has taken effect. When they all emerge from the aether, Hattori launches himself like a missile at Dialga. All of the Pokemon’s god-like power is returned upon him. Nothing can fell a god quite like a god. Dialga is ping-ponged around the field.[break][break]
Yet it still stands, and it seems hardly hurt for all of their efforts. Two mortals cannot challenge a god, they can simply hold their own and survive. Once more, it opens its maw to roar…[break][break]
…and they are consumed by light.

Fear gripped Genevieve sudenly, when all of a sudden, the SUBSTITUTION JUTSU triggered. And any fear replaced with excitement. This was the power of the Z-moves? Sheesh, Dynamax wasn't anywhere close to this power. She just watched the god-like entity ping-ponged along, and for a moment the redhead thought they had it.[break][break]

Damn. How naive. That God of Time truly was made of sterner stuff. How were they going to handle-[break][break]

Then they're engulfed in light.[break][break]

The PTSD is immediate again. How did she not learn her lesson the first time? Genny's face is riddled in anguish. This is Galar. GALAR. She remembers it. The Eternatus that flies through the air, the way the Pokemon wreak havoc in their Dynamaxed forms. She can feel herself having trouble breathing; trouble Zagreus, Gram, and Titan can't fix. She grabs at her chest, when the weapons appear set in stone. Two metallic weapons.[break][break]

"S-Sheriff?"[break][break]

Her heart is in her ear. No matter what her dog, her sword, or turtle do, they cannot fix her. No rubbing, no patting the shoulder, no pets. The DYNAMAX is over already for Titan, and all he can do is seem sad. And Genny stares ahead. Face riddled in sweat.[break][break]

And she reaches for the sword.

This battlefield is familiar. He’s seen it in his dreams and in his waking hours. In a time many have forgotten, he rode a Spectrier called Valkyrie across these same desolate plains. Stepping into this memory is like stepping into an old, beloved set of clothes. He finds they still fit.[break][break]
Lizzy is nowhere to be seen. Nothing around them pays either human any mind. Until the moment their decision is made, the simulation moves on a loop. Nothing happens save the swaying of Eternatus, His laser flying at some unseen soldier.[break][break]
“Genny.” Navy’s voice is steady. He’s right behind her, letting her make the decision. “Genny, listen to me. I know what you’re goin’ through. It sucks. This was our past. It’s gonna be our future. This sim’s our best shot at figuring out how to fight them.” Waving his hand across the battlefield, he points at a supermassive Charizard spreading wildfire. Humans and their ordinary Pokemon are reduced to ashes.[break][break]
“This’ll be our Hoenn, unless we fight. We can’t let anything crush us, not while we’ve got people to defend.”[break][break]
When she reaches the sword, it comes free. Something finds her worthy.[break][break]
