CONTRARY TO ITS NAME, THE MAJORITY OF THE ULTRA DEEP SEA IS A VAST CAVE-LIKE WORLD. Shafts of light from an unknown source barely penetrate the dark, causing colorful diamond-like rocks to glisten against humid walls. The dim lighting makes the place seem like you're thousands of leagues under the sea... Eerily, an unceasing pulse can be heard like a heart beat that rumbles throughout the realm.[break][break]

Oddly enough, one is able to "swim" through this realm like Water-type Pokemon floating in air.[break][break]

One may stumble upon deep, cold pools of dark water and alien seaweed as they scout out the realm. Segments of this place open up into an astral sea, where islands of mysterious stone are suspended mid-air.

♂︎ IMMUNITY | hammer arm, surf, blizzard, earthquake, crunch, giga impact, lick (KASIB)

A spacious, extraterrestrial cave opened before them. They did not have to walk in this land; instead, floating through worked just fine. Water types were all over the area, floating like this wasn't a bizarre reality-distorting sea-cave. But after all of her times in the Border, Robin found herself totally unperturbed by the unusualness of it.

Alien ferns and flowers lit the path before them. "This way," Robin said, taking lead of their expedition. Gwen said she had never been on one, so it was up to Robin to pull herself together and lead them into an expedition much as Shalin Nariya had lead her through her expeditions. She tapped her fingers across the cave wall to her right. In response, a series of small bulbous ferns lit up, further extending their field of vision to a dead-end... except for the hole in the ground.

Looks like they'd have to go down where they couldn't see if they wanted to continue. "We'll be fine." She offered some assurance in case the strange area was giving Gwen anxiety.

So this was Ultra Space, huh? Gwendolyn marveled at the sights waiting for them just out of the portal leading them home. As a little nerdy ranger., she had never been one to imagine what it was like outside of their little region of Hoenn.

"Whoa...This is so cool, Robin!"

She squeaked, nearly bouncing up and down while the calmer of the pair led her further into this strange aquatic abyss. There were some areas where Robin had to physically pull the girl away from the sights and vistas around them. Gishath waddled beside Gwen and seemed to be just as curious about his surroundings as she was.

He was probably searching for his next fight rather than enjoying the scenery, though.

Robin led the way to what was a dead end, lit up by some of the flora around the caverns except for one small hole that was clad in darkness. Gwen was a little taken aback by how insanely black it was with their way forward to go. She looked to Robin with a conflicted expression while Robin showcased her optimism that Gwen loved.

"Right. No dark tunnel's gunna defeat the both of us!" Gwen smiled and reached out to Robin hesitantly. Her hand was offered to her while the dragon lover would look away with a soft expression. "J-Just in case we get separated. We don't know how dark that tunnel's going to get."

Robin grinned as Gwen took her hand. "Yeah, we've got this!" She took the lead on the tunnel, floating down until they reached a new level of spacious cavern. Plants lit various areas of the walls and crevices, but it was largely dark. It set Robin's hair on ends -- something was watching them. "Mun, let's--"

She was cut off as a sharpedo cut right in front of them, his rough skin fin almost striking Robin's arms. "Let's go!" She pulled Gwen by the hand and stumbled in the dark. The floaty water-space around them inhibited their speed, however. "Mun, use surf!" The Snorlax was right behind them and generated a large wave of water to crash right at their feets and sweep them away through the floor of the cavern and into an open area with just a few pillars of stone surrounding them.

They were out of the cavern and into the open, deep sea.

Somehow, feeling Robin's hand in her own was a high that no drug or anything could compare to her. Gwen squeezed Robin's hand firmly enough to keep track of it as her walking speed matched Robin's almost instantly. Their journey continued on and on...

This led them into a new area as the plants from before would continue to shower the area with enough light to make out what they were doing. Before Gwen could speak her relief that everything was fine, a sudden blur in front of them had caught the two off guard. It had almost struck Robin, with Gwen's eyes looking around proactively for whatever had just attacked.

"Robin! You okay?"

She grit her teeth at whoever would dare to hurt her friend. The Snorlax behind them waddled on before Robin had instructed him to use SURF to get them out of this area sooner. The four were washed away by the attack, Gwen clutching onto her Gabite while it seemed happy at the speed they had picked up.

After a bit, they came into a wide-open area out of the caverns, where only the endless blues seemed to be there to greet them. They had not a moment to recover from the rush before the ground beneath them would begin to shake. Loose sand drifted off of the area as a pair of Jellicent the size of giants, male and female, would begin to unearth themselves from the ground and begin to float away.

"The Jellicent, they're huge!" Gwen gasped, "What's with everything in this freaky area? That Sharpedo, these two, this is all so freaky..."

Gwen's reaction thrilled Robin; she remembered being stunned by how strange the Border was, and now Gwen got to experience some of the craziness that the world had to offer. "These pockets bend reality a little. The Border had floating islands and a lot of ghost activity. This place is almost alive. The odd water-space of it that we're floating in is something you can't find elsewhere in Hoenn." She did not know the specifics, but it was enough of an understanding to want to explore.

She was about to share something else when a glob of purple gunk slapped the ground in front of her. She turned to where it came from and saw two Poipole. She had encountered these before in Megaopolis. They were crazy fast. "Don't let that gunk touch you. It'll hold you in place like superglue."

Snorlax threw himself into the action, generating an icy blizzard over the open area to freeze out the Poipole. "We need to get rid of them quick before they draw more attention to us. We won't make it far if we're surrounded."

"No kidding. This is like if a kid decided how the laws of psychics work." Gwendolyn said, watching the twin Jellicent float away off into the blue abyss. Despite the horror of being the smallest fish in the pond now, there was something alluring about the different kinds of Pokemon here, even if the Sharpedo may or may not have been in pain from its corruption.

Before she could start speaking sweet about the scenery with Robin, two new additions to the party revealed themselves, being a new type of purple colored, hovering Pokemon that didn't seem too happy to see them both here. They shot some kind of substance at the two Rangers while Robin would send out Mun to take care of the two. It wasn't until Gwen turned around behind them as she found more of them hovering from above.

"It might be a little late for that. Come on!"

With numbers like that, they wouldn't last long before either being eaten alive. She tugged Robin along the open area, leading the way towards a small narrow sand bar, leading back into the opening of another cavern entry point on the floor. Her head went back to the mass of Poipole just in time to catch sight of a massive Nagandel letting out a fearsome cry as it lowered itself to meet them. She thought back to her dragon taming training with Freya. This species wasn't listed in the most up to date version, but it did look dragon-like. So Gwen smirked to Robin with that little flash in her eyes.

"I know this sounds crazy, but trust me for a bit. I think I can get us out of trouble. Help me get up on Mun real quick."

Once on the shoulders of the Snorlax, Gwen would look up at the army of Poipoles and their leader as it settled its eyes on them. Gwen carefully stood up and never broke eye contact with the predator. Her heart was racing as fast as it ever had. It was like staring a Tyrantrum in the face as it was charging at them.

"Easy Mun. Just slowly lower yourself down and don't look away. No sudden movements."

With Robin's help, she was able to get the Pokemon to lower itself while her doing the same. Her glasses were ajar and nearly slid off of her face while her eyes remain locked onto the Nagandel. It was an eerie silence that fell on the party. But just as the pokemon seemed ready to attack, it would let out a huff and then lower its stinger aimed at the two, then speed away. The mass of Poipoles followed save for the two from before that would stare at Robin and Gwen before zooming away.

Gwen breathed a sigh of relief, putting a hand on her chest.

"Sorry to spook you. It was a wild guess, but I thought they were similar to some dragon-types that believe anybody passing on its territory are threats. I almost thought we were going to be stuck here."

Robin froze as the swarm of Poipole arrived with mama Nagandel, but Gwen's insistence on helping her get on Mun kicked her into action. Robin moved automatically, lifting Gwen onto his shoulders. She watched, stunned as Gwen entered a staring contest with pokemon that could poison them into a coma and glue them into an unrescueable glob for some unfortunate set of explorers to discover later.

And then Gwen won.

The poisonous pokemon skedaddled. "Gwen. That was crazy." Her comment hung in the air until Robin started laughing off the excess adrenaline, sounding more than a little unhinged. "I can't believe you, dude! How'd you pull that off!" She'd have never thought to try that. Perhaps she could manage it with her own. It made her want to try it with some ghosts, they were rarely impressed with staring as far as she could tell. They preferred larger reactions if they liked messing with humans.

"Okay, well, now that we're not being poisoned seven ways from Sunday... where do you wanna go?" Gwen was full of surprises, always outperforming Robin's expectations. She wondered what would happen next.

She laughed a bit, bouncing up and down while hugging Robin some. The adrenaline was rocket high in her nerdy little body and this was only the real sort of out she had to get rid of it all. Gwen was far too excited to get as awkward and timid as she was, too caught up in the moment.

"Ah-I know! I've been training with a few and thought that if it looked remotely dragon-like, maybe it could work like some. If there's only one leader in a pack of smaller guys, they're generally protective since its a vulnerable pack. So it won't pick fights it may not be able to walk away from."

One nerd out session later, Gwen had led the both of them across the open area once more. It was a pretty uneventful walk, aside from some Pokémon eyeing them from the shadows or others scuttling around to give them room. Regardless, some time later, her eyes had caught a peculiar sight.

There was a strange tree-like shape, if it even was a tree, that carried a strange fleshy...thing that was beating steadily. It was creepy, although she pointed it out to Robin.

"Look at that." she said, pushing her glasses back up her nose. "Any idea what it could be?"

Robin was fixated on Gwen while the redhead spoke of her rationale for approaching the poison pokemon like she had. Robin's heart was racing, though she couldn't figure out why. Gwen was so radiant, something enhanced by her newfound confidence post-dragon training. Robin averted her gaze once they started walking to avoid being caught staring, though she paid close attention to Gwen with her peripheral vision.

And then they found the odd tree thing above. A grin made its way to Robin's face as an idea dawned on her. "I bet we can find out!" She grabbed Gwen's hand to bring her close, then brandished her brand new tool: a mega accessory bracelet. She let Gwen look at it for a second before activating it. Before their very eyes, Snorlax flooded with energy and grew several stories; a tree started to form on his stomach, and thankfully, Robin manuevered them during his growth so they were standing atop its tallest branches.

Snorlax filled the space, giving them the opportunity to stand just a few feet from the organ, with a few leaves between them. The two of them got a good look at the pulsing thing, though it was still unclear what exactly it was. Robin felt disinterested in touching it, especially since she was still holding Gwen's hand. "Cool, huh?" She turned to look at the other girl as she asked. It wasn't clear which part she was referring to.

"No way! You got a mega stone?!"

Gwendolyn's eyes popped out at seeing the mega accessory strapped around Robin's wrist. Her envy for this woman went up three notches. How could she get something so sweet this easy? Her Snorlax received a huge power up from the energy swarming around it from the bracelet, changing into a new form that seemed...very fitting for a Snorlax.

The two of them climbed on top while he grew and grew, making their way to the tippy top of the branches while Gwen continued to marvel at her psychic pal. How lively and proud she was when she wanted to show off. It had always made Gwen smile a bit, watching her be confident in herself with her family's talents influencing her.

"Cool? That's putting it lightly! You're amazing!"

Her hand was still latched onto Robin's, as Gwen blinked and found themselves directly underneath that fleshy thing that was beating. Up close like that, it was almost like a heart of some kind...

More importantly, Gwen smiled at Robin and fiddled with her glasses some, though looked down at Mun once she realized she was staring again.

"When we get back, do you wanna...u-uh, hang out?"
