ULTRA PLANT: JA #2

It was like a horror movie in real life: the monster that would surely murder them both traversed down the stairs like a ball of spaghetti, unfazed by their initial onslaught. The cables themselves heeded the back and call of their master, for they slithered straight for the alien as well. Sparks flew from the ends of its limbs and its head, to paint it in flashes of eerie light.
“Oh fuck, oh Arceus, please, Annalise–”
Their savior, dressed in black and blue, emerged from the shadows themselves. The Ceruledge sliced at the alien several times, creating a portrait of destruction with each swing. Even if the thing looked relatively fine, it created the perfect opportunity for Annalise to capitalize.
June let go of the breath she held and started to lean against a nearby metal machine, “See, it’s not so bad of an– ow, fuck!”
Knew she should’ve kept those gloves on. Static electricity hurt like a bitch, and she shook her hand in the air while Annalise reached for her. "W-wait, I need to get my tools! Flygon, get down here!”
No response. She quickly pulled out its Poke Ball and retreated it from afar, only to re-release it down in the crumbling structure. Its fainted body emerged from the red light onto the ground, and it twitched several times. Oh. Well.
“Fuck– doesn’t matter, whatever,” she pulled the Flygon back into the ball and ran over to where she left her backpack. The various tools were shoved back into the box, and the box back into her backpack. She dragged it behind her as she followed Annalise back outside the building. “Okay, so, uh, we might want to just leave here. This plane of existence, that was.”
Prior experience told her that unstable buildings did whatever they wanted to on the way down. Sure, physics told people the actual way they’d break apart on the way down. However, she wasn’t a physicist, and neither was Annalise. So as far as she knew, this building could go directly for them wherever they went.
And she was NOT about to die from being crushed. Or worse. She released a different Pokémon on her belt, Matchstick, and started to clamber on. “Sorry, I’m not waiting around to be crushed by that thing. Get on, we'll fly low to the ground.”
While they flew off with the speed of a Noivern out of hell (ironic, since she had that one on her belt too), she considered her options. This proved to be worthless. She was nowhere near closer to her goal, Annalise didn't get a base. What the hell to do? Maybe a refocus was in order. Maybe it was time to break out the books again. Get advice. And she did have one person right behind her that knew a little...
