in such a beautiful hidden oasis, it did not take long for territorial warfare to break out once it was found. as with last time on the disappearing island, lulu did her best to steer clear of unnecessary combat as she continued her research in the warzone.[break][break]

she was on her way to investigate the crystal in area zero when an alert came over comms that help was needed at a closer research station.[break][break]

ever-prepared to defend rocket’s scientific progress, the former head scientist wasted no time when she arrived. a noivern through low, terastallizing in glinting purple crystal before delivering a fierce dragon pulse into an approaching tyrantrum.[break][break]

Riding in on her own, expertly-trained and absolutely adorable dragon, Bowie, she answered the call that came with it. Protect a research station from Rocket, assist in the chasm, and keep those pussies in the League away from it.[break][break]

Defend it? Sounded like work. But now for Bowie. As she reaches nearby, a woman seems to beat her to it, and Helena stared down with a brow raise. A Noivern, blasting away a Tyrantrum?[break][break]

She whistles. And with it, Bowie dives.[break][break]

"Bowie, be a dear, and chomp the bug coming at the woman," she commands, smirking as the Charizard races forward, and ripping into an incoming VENOMOTH via FIRE FANG, with Helena responding in turn, atop her dragon, a hand through her hair, as she wondered how much less graceful Draco Prowler would have handled it.[break][break]

"Hiiiiiiiii! Thought you could use some help!" She coos out towards the slightly older woman, blowing her a kiss.[break][break]

she eyed the incoming dragon, glancing at its rider for a telling flash of orange on her clothing, but there was none. the league’s venomoth was blown back by rocket fire.[break][break]

her stare lingered for a moment on the woman who’d blown a kiss her way, and thought of the flowers she’d received recently from unknown admirers. people had been getting bold since she’d stepped down from her rank.[break][break]

”great!” she called back, and as her eyes began to return to the battle, she noticed something on the ground. [break][break]

approaching, she realized there were strange tracks. they did not belong to any pokemon she could think of. again, she felt the pang of fear as before.[break][break]

"stay alert! i think there's something big hunting us – other than the league!"[break][break]

a dragon tail collided with her noivern when it swept low to dodge another attack. though battered back for a moment, it only dove back in with a tera blast.[break][break]

Pft. Big hunting them? Helena isn't even remotely concerned, the smug look on her face, lips upturned in a smirk without a care. And yet...[break][break]

Her smirk twitches. The sweat trickles down her neck, as she feels herself shiver and shake. Why was that cold sweat on her nape? She wasn't afraid. No, but something about this place... it leaves her shivering.[break][break]

It's just the winter air, she tells herself, over and over and over again. The red eyes focused at the foes below, as this thing continued to cause her a light panic. Grabbing Bowie closer, she realizes how alone she feels.[break][break]

They soar closer to Lulu despite seeing the TERA BLAST, her manicured hands shaking as she calls out "What's out here, anyways? Just a bunch of bugs."[break][break]

Helena Hawthorne would never admit her own fear, but with one helluva DRAGON CLAW to bat away another trio of Venomoth, she had no reason to feel that way.[break][break]

”uh… there’s a lot more than bugs!” lulu called, brow furrowed as helena dipped lower. surely this girl was joking. if not, she’d find out soon enough.[break][break]

the noivern’s tera blast was enough to batter back the league’s tyrantrum, knocking its chin into the ground with a pained roar.[break][break]

with the dinosaur taken care of for a moment, the noivern zipped around the station, leaving lulu standing off to the side of chaos, unattended. spotting a walking wake, her eyes went wide. this one looked like suicune.[break][break]

”another paradox pokemon! these ones seem powerful.”[break][break]

reaching for a second pokeball, she released a golbat. it screeched and shot towards the walking wake with a swift attack.[break][break]
