"do you think it's always been here?"

or was it the result of something they've done? another anomaly they will pay for, perhaps?

he asks the same question of her, then, and she takes a moment to really consider her thoughts.

"it's odd..."

her shoulders tense slightly before slowly relaxing as she lets the ideas out.

"i want to say it's nice because there's so much to be discovered here, but the entire place feels wrong to me."

like it shouldn't exist and every tick of a clock's hands makes the sensation worse.

she's not certain. the place still bothers her, as if something about its existence feels unnatural to the remaining expanses of space. she can't shake the irritated sensation, but giving in to the way it plucks at the brain for attention ends with... well, shit.

"oh!"

ollie tries - and half succeeds - in halting her forward momentum, but her heel still squishes into paradox poop all the same. she makes a disgusted sort of face, nose scrunching in disdain.

"what the hell?"

she lifts her foot up higher and teeters back before gingerly taking the boot off and trying to wipe the grossness off of her heel in a nearby grass patch.

"do you have a napkin or something?"

she sounds exasperated, hanging on by a thread.

even with it now peeled off the heel and floating between them, she tries to avoid looking at it. instead, she focuses solely on ollie and his green eyes.

"unfortunately, yeah, i think it might be a sample we need."

she didn't want to have to transport paradox poop back with them, but lady luck isn't quite on her side today.

"do you have something to store it in?"

otherwise, she might have to dig through her bag to see if anything would work...

"do you think it'd be better in, like, a vial or something?"

easier to transport and less messy, maybe?

a minute or two passes before she finally manages to find a vial big enough to house the sample without much difficulty. the container is plucked from the confines of her bag and extended out toward ollie.

"here, this might work..."

if his blissey could put it in there without getting the substance anywhere near her, that'd be even better.

[attr="class","illeana i"]thankfully, his blissey assists in placing the sample into the container without difficulty or spillage. she grimaces slightly during the process, but otherwise offers his blissey a grateful smile once finished.

"i'm not sure - maybe identification of which species it came from?"

or...

"or where the species came from, perhaps."

the paradox pokemon that call this place home are still an enigma, existing in realms of possibilities they don't quite understand yet. in time, she believes they will. this sample should help, at the very least.

"i'll have to reach out and ask to see those results, then."

perhaps between GIDEON GRAVES and herself, they could put their minds together to find a probable theory...

he mentions an iron thorns and despite herself, her nose scrunches slightly in analysis.

"iron, you said?"

like, made of metal?

"it might be a different kind of... substance, maybe - not like a pokemon's fluids, but more like a machine's."
