Thea's eyes opened widely, containing her energy to not make her just clasp her hands against the table while standing up— Instead, she simply bent onto the table, leaning away when the waiter returned with their order, which she promptly apologized with slightly flushing cheeks.[break][break]

"Like, you've made it from scratch? Or did you buy a jacket that already existed and added the stuff in it? Do you work with that or..?" She wondered. Either of those were impressive, but the curiosity picked her.[break][break]

"I kinda like to give my Pokémons a bit of some clothing at times, even if Zeus doesn't like it too much, and Hammy is still getting used to everything." She gestured at her Pokémons. The Wigglytuff had a lace and a hat on her, while her Minccino wore a ribbon on her head and a shawl.[break][break]

julian scratches her cheek sheepishly. "um... i bought it and modified it, yeah..." she can make certain clothes from scratch, but she usually just goes to the thrift store to find a base that matches what she's planning. she used to get a lot of backstage work dumped off on her in high school, and since she had no friends or other extracurriculars she'd spent a lot of her free time working on costumes and set pieces. her grades had suffered, sure, but she hadn't really cared about those anyway.[break][break]

she looks down at her food. "r-right... your pokemon's accessories are, um... r-really cute." then she busies herself with stuffing her face so she doesn't have to talk, wolfing down her flatbread as if she hasn't eaten in days. she gives her morpeko a tiny bite, tearing a piece off for her. the rodent munches happily, oblivious to her trainer's mood.

"Oooh, I see!" Thea nodded in understanding. Now that she knew the limits of what they girl was used to make. Or at least it was what she assumed to be the limit.[break][break]

A smile grew on Thea's lips and her cheeks flushed when a compliment came to the accessories, and Thea beamed: "Thank you very much~ I'm not the one that makes it, but I do choose carefully... Maybe someday I can make Zeus wear something. The only thing that I can make him wear is a gi, when we are at the dojo." She sighed, casting a disapproval peek at him. The pokémon did not care, already tackling the order that was meant for him.[break][break]

Her attention then returned to the girl. "Well, in this case. Do you take this kind of service? Like, if I get some generic accessories and clothes for my Pokémon, can I ask you to make some changes?" She asked, curious.[break][break]

"I still need to learn how to get Hammy's fur nice and tidy like your Morpeoko, so maybe you can help me on both... And I mean, I don't plan to ask you all of this for free, obviously!" She shook her head and hands negatively.[break][break]

thea asks her something. it takes a moment for it to really sink in, and when it does, julian stops chewing. eh? ehhhh??? unfortunately, this causes her to swallow a bite of flatbread down the wrong pipe, and she starts coughing violently. her shoulders bunch up and she reaches for her drink, taking a big swig to try and force it down. she holds up a finger to try and indicate she just needs a moment, hiding her flushed face from the girl across from her.[break][break]

KILL ME! JUST KILL ME NOW! this is the most embarrassing thing that's happened to her in a long time. it's a couple minutes before she's able to speak, but it feels more like an out-of-body experience than anything. "l-like... a commission...?" she asks, before coughing some more. "i could... p-probably... do that..." please, just let a hole open up beneath her and swallow her. that would be preferable to her basically agreeing to stay in contact with thea in some manner. [break][break]

Thea's eyes opened widely in surprise and concern, seeing how violently the girl was coughing. "Are you alright—?!" She asked, and while almost leaping out of her chair to see if she could do a maneuver to make the girl stop choking... But thankfully, it seemed she got to control herself after a good gulping.[break][break]

The fact the girl stopped coughing didn't fade Thea's worries, and with a concerned smile, she sat down after the girl agreed to her request.[break][break]

"Yeah... Like a commission, exactly!" Thea said, and amidst the concern for the girl and the request for a commission, for once, Thea seemed a bit flustered— perhaps even timid, which was contrasting to her usual social butterfly way to be. "So like, should we exchange contact? It is probably getting too late to talk about it, but I could talk to you someday about it."[break][break]

She smiled sheepishly, showing her phone.[break][break]

not that julian doesn't like money, but... she hesitates to accept, if only because she doesn't like staying in contact with people for long. she's spent pretty much her whole adult life holed away in her bedroom, and later her studio apartment, because she doesn't like nor trust others. her dream of becoming a gym leader, unfortunately, means she'd have to give that up eventually, which is why she created the persona of heidi hemlock to protect herself. with a mask on, she can pretend to be someone she's not.[break][break]

after a moment's pause, though, julian heaves a sigh and pulls out her own phone. she adds thea to her contacts, giving the other girl her number. if it's mostly over text, i'll be fine, right...? her phone case has a number of shiny mareanie and toxapex on it, and there's a pikachu charm attached to it. once she puts her phone away again, she finishes off the rest of her food quickly.[break][break]

julian stands. "a-alright..." they manage an uneasy smile. "i've, um... got somewhere to be. it was n-nice meeting you... th-thea." they all but run away, andromeda on their shoulder. IT'S OVER! I SURVIVED!
