"When is it convincing to pretend to be impressed?" She stifled a smile by sipping her tea. This place was so normal and Amor was so not. His endorsement of this cafe was just another misshapen piece for the Amor puzzle. She had a hard time knowing what to make of him. [break][break]

The cafe was quaint. The drinks all looked good. She had no complaints about the tea, though she couldn't say she would come all the way out to Lilycove just for a cuppa. "How's your drink?" She asked, turning to Cillian. She had to fight the mental image of a Ranger coming in and seeing such high-ranking Rocket members. And herself. Well, their faces might not be known to many. It was a good thing, as such an association might prohibit her from functioning as a CEO anymore. [break][break]

Dressed in civilian casuals instead of his normal suit, with his hair ruffled from the wind and the scar on his cheek covered with make-up, Cillian barely resembles Rocket's infamous underboss. He's not worried about being recognized.[break][break]

"I don't usually bother," Cillian admits, smirking over his cup of tea. It was some sort of peppermint and vanilla blend, and it tasted almost as good as it smelled. Almost good enough to ignore what the staff were wearing. If he couldn't see Lilycove's harbour through the window and hear the murmur of other patrons' soft chatter, he could almost be back in Galar. "Tea's good."[break][break]

He'd also ordered a tray of biscuits, and Amor Rose would find him nibbling on one as he arrived.[break][break]

Where ameena abadi might try to feign pleasantries (or not), Cillian goes straight for the heart.[break][break]

"Come here for the view?"[break][break]

He's not looking at the harbor. Instead, his gaze shifts surreptitiously to one of the employees and then back again.[break][break]

Amor arrived having recently just got back from his vacation in Kalos where he spent time at a resort with Himari Kaneshiro....That was a story for another day though. His hair was still dyed red, and he was dressed mostly casual, though he had a suit jacket on to cover his arms. Sunshades on his face, and he found the table there. This had been ameena abadi's idea, and so he had directed them to his favorite cafe. The same cafe that howard slayte had ruined earlier with two others, and gotten it shut down for a brief period of time which had earned his ire. Sitting down he quirked a brow at Cillian Quinn's question, and seemed genuinely confused. When the the well endowed waitress dressed like a maid showed up, he lowered his shades a bit so she could see his eyes.

"Strawberry Lemonade please....Tell the owner she has my thanks...." A smile on his lips before turning back to the other two. "I don't think this has a particularly good view....The owner doesn't really stroke my ego either....She did start making strawberry lemonade for me...." He tapped his cheek confused on why Cillian would think that. "But I've been a patron here for the past few years....And helped her out of a few tight spots...." He shrugged a bit seeing absolutely nothing wrong with the fact that he was in a maid cafe.

The truth was....Amor had grown up around maids, and butlers his entire life. For him this was normal, this felt like home, and it was that comfortableness that caused him to come here over, and over again.

"Oh they should have sweet biscuits today as well...." He said with a bright smile, and already his sweet tooth was starting to show. It wasn't often he got to cheat on his diet....Walter would run him ragged otherwise.

Ameena hid her amusement at Cillian's comments by taking a sip. There was nothing more pleasurable than seeing someone else tease Amor. Arceus knew he deserved it. "Ah, she didn't stroke your ego," she echoed in a low, smoky tone. The maid cafe left one with some logical conclusions, but she didn't have a sparkling track record of accusing Amor of things after his misuse of honorifics did not, in fact, stem from a personal slight. [break][break]

Not that that would stop her from implying he was a misogynist. Life was about the simple pleasures. [break][break]

"But I believe we are gathered here for something bigger -" An unfortunate word choice as the endowed maid-waitress returned with some sweet pastries. Ameena leaned in, becoming more serious. "I hear there is an [infiltration I should be preparing for?" Infiltration was, perhaps, not the best substitute word for invasion, but there was enough background noise in the cafe that she felt somewhat safe discussing it in these terms.

Amor's confusion reads genuine enough, which only further increases Cillian's amusement. He grins at Ameena's insinuation; sharp as ever, she'd easily picked up what he was putting down.[break][break]

But they weren't here to tease their colleague, fun as that might've been.[break][break]

"Ah, yes," he says to Ameena, his mood shifting serious in an instant. "Our company has been preparing for the possibility of a hostile takeover. We'd all prefer to avoid that, of course."

"Well I feel bad for whomever the company set it's sights on...." His lemonade arrived, and he took a large sip of it and relaxed further. "Can I get a basket of sweet biscuits as well...." He spoke to the waitress with a bright smile, and when she hurried off to fulfill his order he turns his attention back to the other two. Not giving them an inkling as to whether he was oblivious still or not.

"Dewford has some interesting companies....As does Slateport....I guess it just depends on what sort of acquisition you are looking for. One is more stable than the other...." His biscuits came, and he happily took one, and popped it into his mouth since they were bite sized, and nommed it. Completely acting out of the norm, but when he was truly comfortable this could be said to be his natural state.

"Though getting the entire board on the same page....That is going to be the real trick...." He directs that statement more to Cillian Quinn than ameena abadi.

Rocket he felt was far more organized than the League, but that didn't mean they didn't have their own red tape to deal with. All it took was one snide remark, and then everyone else would just disregard you. Not that it bothered him, but if they were going to put in the effort to actually do this. He sighed just imagining the next meeting.

"C'est la vie...."

Ameena frowned at Amor's comment about getting the board to agree. "Surely, what is looming is going to be unanimous? If this acquisition is happening, it must be because it is necessary?" She had little insight to the inner workings of the upper echelons of Rocket. She knew several superior officers like those beside her, but she was not involved in the politics related to the large decisions. [break][break]

She didn't like the implications of any disagreements. It caused her to believe that there was a chance the acquisition could be motivated by greed or hunger for power rather than a more tactical line of thinking. If the invasion was going to happen, they risked all of Hoenn turning into a Kanto situation; there was no guarantee it would be a relatively isolated battle - it could absolutely spark a full-on war. [break][break]

Her only opportunity for a better insight was right here with two men that had the ability to know what was talked about in the war room. "Is this going to be like the..." How does one refer to Kanto? "incident with previous ambitious leadership?" The push from several Rockets for her to grow her strength might have been far more dire than she'd initially taken the advice.

Thankfully, all three of them adapt easily to covert conversation. It's almost fun speaking in code, reminds him of lighter days with Marcel when they'd sat up devising their clicks and whistles.[break][break]

"There's been talk of Mossdeep, as well. It has access to some of the best sea routes for shipping and exports."[break][break]

More importantly, it was close to Sootopolis.[break][break]

"Slateport is hard to break into; too many established brands. We could try, I suppose, but I think we'd lose more than we gained in that venture. Dewford is easier to manage, but some of its CEOs are aggressively competitive."[break][break]

He's talking, of course, of Navy. Perhaps Rocket could take Dewford, but Navy would give them hell in the process.[break][break]

Pacifidlog had come up, as well, but Cillian doesn't mention it. It didn't fit into the analogy so neatly, and he did not wish to speak of his husband's hometown as though it were a prize to be won.[break][break]

"As to the board," with a glance at Amor Rose, "they'll come together in the end. They always do."[break][break]

We always do. There was a reason for that: declan walsh. The Boss had the final say, and they were but puppets dancing on his strings.

ameena abadi seems worried at the prospect of war, and Cillian can't blame her. He'd once dreaded a return to the days of war, of Kanto, but now understands the necessity of violence in their grand scheme.[break][break]

"That's likely," he agrees. "As to necessity, it's all about the growth of the company, in the end. We'll stagnate if we never take risks."

"I think no matter what we choose we are going to wind up losing....Mossdeep is fine, but it's another island....We will eventually need our business to become self-sufficient which requires land...." Islands with limited mass, and size were going to get them nowhere. Imports would eventually dry up, and the only reason he could figure that they hadn't been starved out yet was simply due to Cillian Quinn's lugia keeping Kyogre at bay. If they were going to actually make a go at this, they needed land.

"We should consider Mossdeep, and Lilycove....It will form a barricade from businesses that may decide to try, and invade from Evergrande...." Lilycove also had the benefit of being near the sea which with the Leagues loss of Kyogre was now dominated by them. Even if the leagues Weapon showed up, it would be hard pressed to do anything more than throw a tantrum which they could fend off. If they could secure those two cities they would be able to form a proper wall against the League, and drive a wedge into the heart of the region.

They would be forced to take the longer sea route through Pacifilog to get from point, to point, which would make tracking their supply routes easier. It was all like one big game of chess, but to put it into practice was an entirely different matter.

"But I'm no business strategist...." He shrugs a bit.

It took her an additional second to parse the double speak, but she felt enlightened with the both of them discussing the politics and limitations of what the future moves were. "Is Dewford a more immediate goal? Prioritizing a monopoly closer to that location might be ideal." She considered Dewford more closely. She had heard of its gym leader and E4 member, but she had never had the pleasure of meeting him. [break][break]

"Mossdeep and Lilycove could be good for geographical limitations. Limiting the opposition's resources and ability to group up should be a priority, I would think. Their numbers are impressive, though I wonder if all of the investment in those numbers has spread the upper echelons of their company thin." Causing internal strife and divide would be the most ideal strategy, but while the League had huge numbers, sometimes it seemed there were differing chains of commands or perhaps more independent agents than what appeared on the surface - there was some factor that made it so difficult to impair them internally. [break][break]

She wasn't sure how the Kyle business fit into it. "When should we be expecting a final decision?" Her team needed a final comb-through, but it would be easier if she knew the setting of the battle. She intended to put every factor in her favor.
