Fist met glass repeatedly. [break][break]

Melody had been trying to push her way through the glass to reach her pokemon. If she could get one of them out they might be able to do something in the real world to free them. But it wasn't working. [break][break]

Upon this realization Melody starts to despair again. "PLEASE" she begged them wondering if they could even hear her. "Wake up! We need you! We cant do this!" she says before she pauses. [break][break]

"I cant do this...without you guys.." as tears start to well up in her eyes. Melody slides down against the glass and sob to herself as she thinks out loud. "What do I do? I can't help anyone like this.."

Behind the Looking Glass

Still no sign of his Pokemon.

Hideo had no idea where to look around here; the distinct lack of Pokemon walking around, whether wild or accompanying someone, was a blatant sign this was no city he'd been to. OR any city in Hoenn, for that matter.

But he'd already learned it was some kind of Megalopolis. Which didn't make it feel any less wrong to him.

And difficult to navigate.

The sound of someone banging on glass at least gave him an inkling of where to go next. Sounded like they were trying to get someone's attention, maybe someone behind the glass…

Wait a second.

He recognized that voice.

"Melody?!" Hideo called out, making his way over to the voice. He had to walk slowly; with neither a Pokemon nor his cane to guide him, he had to be extra careful not to bump into someone or trip over something. "You're here too? What're you banging on the glass for?"

"Hideo?!" she declares as she rushes over to his side and hugs him tightly "Oh my god, What are you doing here?"

She checks his body for any signs of injury but thankfully it seems like he was ok in this dream world. "You aren't hurt are you? How did you even get here? Where's uxie?" as hideo poses his question to her she looks back over towards her pokemon "They're trapped in some suspended like trance or something, glass containers full of a liquid they're just floating in. I'm trying to reach them."

It wasn't the first time someone went up and hugged him in this dream. And just like the last time, he didn't resist; he would've done the same, if he knew the way over.

"I'm alright," he answered. "I'm here like everyone else…they put me in the Weakling Ward."

There was a bitterness to his voice - he did not appreciate being considered weak. He wouldn't appreciate being called dumb or ugly either, but weak just stung harder.

He'd left home to prove he wasn't weak.

"Dunno where Uxie is…I dunno if it got caught like the rest of my Pokemon did. It wasn't with me when I got grabbed."

But who knew what that pixie was up to half the time.

He looked towards where he heard Melody banging on glass. He didn't know exactly what Pokemon were behind it - but they were clearly important to her.

And he'd yet to find any of his own.

(Unbeknownst to him, two were behind the display as well - his small, shiny Ribombee and his Joltik).

"I…I gotta find them before anything happens to them."

She frowns as she see's his resentment towards his assigned ward. "It's ok, they put me in the dummy ward. It's probably their perception of us." she stated, probably to cope cause deep down she did feel like a dummy a lot of the time, she could just barely reach her own standards. [break][break]

She realized though how horrid of a situation it was for Hideo, his pokemon were a literal extension of himself. His eyes, his ears, his limbs. To have Uxie ripped away from him... his behyeem..She felt true sorrow for him. "Well...if it's anything like my pokemon, they're in these suspended jars just...sleeping? Meloetta is here in front of me but I can't reach Cobalion at all for some reason. It's like he doesn't " she says "Did you have your joltik and your shiny ribombee?"

In a less hellish scenario, Hideo would've made a joke about Melody being a Dummy. The temptation was there - but there was no way he was going to say it now.

"Hope they're around here somewhere," he mused, placing his hand on the glass. He had no way of knowing if they were here at all - he needed them to tell them where things were by sight alone, and there didn't seem any way around this glass.

"If Meloetta is here, Uxie could be too…" Mesprit could also be trapped.

Thankfully(?), he had Melody here to tell him of two other Pokemon that were in the glass…

"Pinkie's here?!" he exclaimed, his hands immediately on the glass. "And one of my Joltiks…"

He'd have to feel it to know which Joltik was here - hard to know which of the five it was. But he knew any of them would be terrified in this state.

He balled a hand into a fist, ready to hit the glass to get their attention - but stopped before his put fist to glass, his arm drooping down. If Melody's attempts didn't wake them up, he doubted his own would.

"Why're they even in these things? What are they trying to do with our Pokemon?"

"They're leverage..most likely.." she says "Probably given what they've done to us so far, it wouldn't be a stretch to say that they're hostages." she tells him earnestly as he was mature enough to handle the reality of the situation. He had to mature at such a young age...she gave him the respect he deserved for it. However, this means that difficult conversations had to be had. [break][break]

"Uxie's trapped too?" she wondered aloud, it's very rare for uxie to be caught off guard given what it could do... "Any memories of how we got here in the first place?"

Hideo's hand kept on the glass, as if he could just reach out and grab them if he held it there long enough. Melody's words entered his ears - and found their way into his heart. He couldn't bear to have any of his Pokemon die because of him.

Not again.

"If someone doesn't destroy this jail the second we rescue them all," Hideo said, "I will."

But for the time being, it'd keep him from acting up. He was scared - not just for his own safety.

"Dunno if they got Uxie too. All I know is they probably got whoever I had with him when I got caught. Last I remember, my Pokemon were trying to help Celebi - I…wasn't feeling too well after all those chain attacks."

He silently cursed himself; if he'd just taken the time to rest instead of pushing himself, he wouldn't have gotten kidnapped - and he never would've risked his Pokemons' lives.

"My Pokemon got distracted by something. Think I heard something get close…then next thing I know, I woke up in that cell. And even if I were awake, I dunno if I'd be good at giving directions out of here."

For obvious reasons.

"What about you? You remember anything 'bout how we got here?"

"I was home." she tells him "I was falling asleep on the couch, I was feeling sick from the poison too. when I came too I was here." she explains, the bewilderment was evident in her voice. "My security system should have activated when someone came near me and brought me here.." she pauses. [break][break]

"I'm in the dummy ward with Amor, that stupid fucking monkey probably put me in there. Some psychic trick or something" she says as she feels a slight hinge of regret for referring to Amor Rose that way. [break][break]

He had been the only one to show her kindness so far in that prison, the only thing that had provided her with comfort. It coming from someone she knew she should dislike made it all the more complicated.

Hideo knew it wasn't the first time Melody had been kidnapped - at home, no less. He had to wonder just how effective security system truly was.

But even the Pokemon he'd left there seemed to be unable to stop her kidnapper…there was the real chance that if he'd been at the heart of his own camp, surrounded by his entire team of Pokemon, he still would've been taken too.

"Kinda scary how effective they were at capturing us," Hideo sighed. They already had to worry about Rocket - who else was poised to try and kidnap them at the first chance they got?

Hideo let out a small "ooh," when Melody explained who her cellmate was. "Of all the people to pair you with," he said. "My cellmate's a woman with the Rangers, Genevieve Cromwell . You know her at all?"

He had no idea if Melody knew anything about Genevieve - but worst case was simply getting nothing.

"She's not taking this stuff all too well."

"Genny?" she says as she recalls the girl she had met way back when now. Genevieve Cromwell was the girl she had encouraged to do the gym circuit so she could face off against Melody. She had a natural talent for bonding and caring for pokemon...a good hearted girl. [break][break]

"As if things couldn't get any worse. Is there anyone else I might know? I don't even know where to begin with getting us out." she says as she starts to place the pressure on her to think of a way out of this place.

And from what he learned, actually trying it would've gotten one of his Pokemon killed - if he wasn't already dead by then.

"Well…I met a girl called Lucia Aldrete there too. Only just met her, but turns out she's a fan of mine." He blushed a little as he said that - he never considered that he'd reached the level of fame that gave him fans that never met him before.
