If the self-implosion wasn’t enough to fell the Xurkitree, then the draconic breath finished the job certainly. Grigori finally arrived on the scene as dark hot flames engulfed the cracked Xurkitree. It went limp shortly after, most of the breath overkill upon its fainted body.

It soon disappeared, recalled back into its Poke ball. And then, the man emerged from the side of the road. His one eye stared a dagger into Eris, and his knuckles were white against the glow of the fire.

“Why.”

From another ball, a tall, yellow dragon emerged. It towered over the Salamence and its trainer, over Grigori, and rivaled the light posts and buildings in height.

“You have left me no choice,” he said.

Another thing to regret, to wake up to in the middle of the night in a cold sweat. His hammer rose and pointed at Eris. If he could make the command once, he could certainly do it again. “I…”

“Erase them.”

Its body radiated ancient draconic energies, and it accumulated into a Dragon Pulse sent straight for the pair. To swallow them whole and make sure they did not cause problems for Howard.

Red like roses, sharp like thorns. Chains abruptly snap from the ground, coiling and latching onto the Raging Bolt like a tangle of vines. The streets flood with a sickly pink, molten gold gaze pouring over the perpetrators as the Dragon Pulse is sliced through, scattering the force of the blow as it scorches the earth.

It was sudden. Too much so, for Grigori to react. One second, he towered over the beaten teen and her weakened Pokémon, seconds before they were obliterated. The next, a flash of red engulfed the world. Coated their reality in its binding energy. Soon, it became hard to even breathe.

It dug into his flesh, a physical manifestation of his imminent sin. It cut the draconic energy in-twain in midair. Its halves scattered across the landscape, which sent more mortar and stone all over the background. Dust drifted across the scene and coated them in its fine gray powder.

Raging Bolt struggled, but stood no chance against the red chains. Grigori did as well. Neither could hope to break the bonds that now held them captive.

“You…” he spit out. His mind wasn’t in the right place. He’d already damned himself to hell so many times. Yet this was the first that the sorry soul on the other end pulled him away from the hellish fate. Nobody had ever done so before, even if unintentionally.

“Why?!” he screamed. Struggled. Fought. “You musn’t reach him, you–”

Then, the world turned frigid.

Darkness scoops the cowering child up in one swift motion, a Luxray snatching ahold of her collar as he growls at the pixie.[break][break]

Mesprit, on the other hand, seems perfectly content where they are, head tilted to one side as they study the masked man and his beast. Their tails flick, slowly, methodically, as they hover a little closer. One hand reaches out, reaching for his face.[break][break]

Another growl, louder and sharper this time. The air goes cold. Mesprit stops, their eyes snapping up. Above them all towers the end of a beginning, an ancient titan that should've been left where it'd been found. A scowl mars their features as they narrow their eyes, the red light of a Salamence being recalled dying their skin.[break][break]

Her will remains, battered and broken but breathing nonetheless. The warnings fall upon deaf ears, the heart set on the sole task she's assigned herself, one that her companions will dutifully follow through with her. And with one final glance towards the stranger, she closes her eyes before her will completely crumbles, urging Reiner further into the chaos.[break][break]

To Navy. To Howard. To Regice and the unknown left in its wake.
