Other theories include meteoroid impacts containing dynergy, other extraterrestrial Pokemon, and more.[break][break]

Around you, Poison Tera Crystals, minerals imbued with Dynamax Energy, and more exist for you to mine, harvest, and gather. However, more exists below each power spot. In fact, it is possible to leap into these power spots into dark labyrinthe caves below.[break][break]

They come here for the same mission that has brought dozens of Rocket operatives to this very location: mining ore. Mining resources. Building up their war machine so that when the inevitable happens and war sweeps over the whole region to wipe the slate clean, it is Rocket that emerges victorious. Rocket's Black Dog is not a creature made for idly standing by, watching while some machine does his work for him. His blade, coiled intimately around his arm, pulls him towards the power spot itself.[break]
Within lies a path to extraordinary places, depths where even more power and ore lies. The dog turns to his partner and grins.[break]
"Oi, Brownie. Summer's here, and I need some extra cash. Let's go get the big bucks."[break]
When he plunges into the abyss, some might call it stupidity, and those folk would be right. It is controlled stupidity, like a controlled detonation, a dive into the black, to adventure and to profit.[break]

But Hitoshi is already running to dive inside. Tempest watches the shorter man with a dull, blank look before shrugging and running after him.

You may encounter a paranoid Pierce Creighton, one of Hoenn's Scientists, exploring the caves too. Should you approach him, he does not let you come close. The keenest eye may scry blood splatter on his shoes. Despite his haggard appearance, he bestows supplies should you require them. Otherwise, encounter poor bystanders trapped here, like backpackers or even a feral Megalopolan.[break][break]

His combat boots thud, the dog's black paws landing upon soft ground. It feels like he is walking upon sloshy, torn flesh. All the same, upon seeing that his companion is still here with him, the dog presses on towards the left.[break]
"Guess so." He says to the brown-haired beast. "This whole place gives me the creeps. Dunno what Clean Wash, Dak Barcode, or anybody else wants with the place." The words are snarled seriously, spoken in the low voice of a predator surveying the road ahead for a challenge. Instead, he finds a strange colored alien, lunging at him in a frenzy from the darkness.[break]
Pokemon are one thing, an unfair advantage. These alien invaders are another. Those, he can deal with. His blade flicks up, shadows gathering around its edge. He strikes out, and an arm goes flying. The strange human falls to the floor, clutching where its arm used to be.[break]
The dog trots on. It is left to his companion whether to offer them mercy, or to press on and leave them to their fate.

"You been down to Deep Sea? Reminds me of that." This was Tempest's first foray down into these particular pits. Normally this was the station of lower ranks. A shame, since things like this were Tempest's delight before he became a Beast.[break][break]

"Place is filled with crazy shit." A feral alien grasps for them losing an arm in the process.[break][break]

Tempest frowns as they pass by it before shrugging and placing a firm boot on it's throat. A firm stomp ends whatever suffering it could have went through. It was a type of mercy in Temp's eyes.[break][break]

"Your sword is impressive. Where did you get it?" The glint in the pokemon was familiar, enticing.

Even here, TERA CRYSTALS are present. Like a virus, they've spread across the underground. Due to the concentrated dynergy in this place, encounter hallucinations—or hallucinations that become temporarily real by TERA CRYSTALS.[break][break]

And/or encounter a DYNAMAXED/GIGANTAMAXED POKEMON WITH A DYNAMAX SHIELD that must be downed. Regardless, the Pokemon will perish after its transformation. Investigating its carcass will reveal that it has somehow incorporated Dynite Ore onto its body. Though it is no Regi-titan, one may make macabre parallels.[break][break]

While they talk, they hit it: pay dirt. A big, big node of Dynite Ore. Money signs flash in the dog's eyes. He'll hit the pachinko parlors and the soaplands good after today's haul. Maybe he'll even treat himself and his partner to a table at Starlight Casino's all you can eat buffet. Simply thinking about that rouses a vicious growl in his stomach.[break]
Yet, as he mines, his partner turns his attention to a matter much more serious than a growling stomach. Just as there is a wolf in the world who is also a knight, this dog is also a samurai. He holds in himself a kernel of bushido, an honorable way to live.[break]
"It's an old sword the Hasegawa have had in their family for generations." He says, holding the shadowy blade out for inspection. It floats away, hovering around the human. Its red eyes gazes at him with predatory curiosity.[break]
"It was made by a swordsmith called Muramasa. It's said he makes cursed swords. They're strong." His pickaxe cracks off a massive chunk of ore, forcing it into his bag. "But they like to drink blood.

"It reminds me of a Shadow pokemon." While not an expert, Tempest was married to a Shadow human. At this point he liked to think he knew how to tell them apart.[break][break]

A pokeball is unclipped from his hip. The veneer hasn't rubbed off of it yet, the blue sheen of the Dive Ball shining even in the low light. A Ninetails is tossed out, ghostly and tails lashing. It circles Hitoshi Inoue with a slow, steady gate. Tempest whistles and gives it a warning look.[break][break]

At the sight of this thing, he shows no more fear than he would around the blonde. Creatures like him were meant for the shadowed places of the world. Though the blonde is the only true shadow human, they are kin, the way a pack animal looks to is leader. A nod sees his shadowed blade return and sit in its scabbard. They've found their ore. Now, they have to make their way back.[break]
He turns, and he starts walking. Whatever threats this place holds, they have two shadow Pokemon. Nothing here will pose them much of a threat, not now. The walk disorients him, and somewhere along the way, some of the ore falls away.[break]
That means less pay, but his mind clears. They find their way back to the surface. Better some money than none at all. Neither has any desire to stay here and linger in these halls.[break]
"Shadow Pokemon, huh? They're pretty cool. Dunno how the Hasegawa would've gotten their hands on one back during the Sengoku days. Maybe it's Hoenn that did this to it." Which, he thinks, is all the more proof of how cursed this land truly is.
