The splash of salt water didn't bother Shalin much, as she had traveled to the sandy beach aboard Prower, a Shiny Floatzel that was taller than she was. Dressed in her inert SYGNA SUIT, it was clear she had plans well beyond simple wakeboarding. Once they had both surfaced, coasting into the shallows, the Captain dismounted the golden sea weasel, each standing upright on the shallows. A hum sounded as the Floatzel whirled his tails to wring the water out of them.

As Shalin got Prower ready to tow her, she waved to Andrea and greeted her. "Hi, Andrea! Thanks again for bringing me along. Being a transitioning Captain is really stressful, especially with the war." Her suit was inert for the time being, but all it took was hurling her Flygon's Poké Ball above her for it to burst to life. "I don't think you've met Prower before. He's my Floatzel, and one of the Pokémon I want to try to use my Flygon's Sygna Suit powers with." Were she able to piece it together, she would realize it implied the notion of Shalin riding on one of the water-type's tails. With how fast they whirled, it was right up the girl's alley, but would rapidly entering and leaving the water be too disorienting even for her?

That would be for later. For now, she had to survive a rodeo with the waves directly. And with how fast Floatzel were, she expected it to be one bumpy ride on that wakeboard.

"Not at all!" Shalin replied, Prower chattering toward Andrea and Whiskers. "Remember, dragon scales are resistant to all kinds of elements. Water is one of them. This half of my suit will easily dry out!" Not so much for her Venusaur suit, which was susceptible to flooding out. It was one of the reasons why she couldn't replicate what she did with her Venusaur with any aquatic Pokémon with tentacles.

The Floatzel was quite large for his kind, though that was par for the course for her. The girl was quite picky about what Pokémon she caught, hunting them primarily out of Space-Time Distortions. Though no link between them and large Pokémon had been proven, there was too much circumstantial evidence for the Captain to ignore. She, too, slotted her feet into place, ready to be towed by one of the fastest water Pokémon she had on her team.

Andrea's thoughts were not far from the truth; when she grew tired of being towed, those tails were calling her name... which was the purpose of coming to the beach in her Sygna Suit. "Ready when you are, Andrea!" Shalin called out, ready for Prower to pull on her tether and get her bouncing over the picturesque waves.

"Flygon have light scales," Shalin clarified, unsure if the dragon enthusiast raised one herself. "They're the perfect balance between lightweight and protective. They don't have the stopping power that a Hydreigon's or Druddigon's scales do, but they provide enough protection while keeping me mobile and not weighing my Pokémon down!" After all, her suit had to be light enough to be flung about by her Flygon's wings! Too heavy, and she'd wear poor Sandy out!

Prower snugly grabbed the cable before firing up his tails, which sounded like a marine motor once they started whirling. The acceleration was quite abrupt, Shalin yanked forward and struggling to keep her balance at first. She let out a help as she took the lead from Whiskers and Andrea. "Prower, can you turn it down a little?!" she screamed.

Shalin was having the opposite problem. She was used to rough and tumble rides, having caught many of her Pokémon by riding them while they were still wild. She had fond memories of Letheia in particular, the Alolan Ninetales furiously bucking and hurling her about in the bottom of the Crystal Trench. She was used to the shock of hitting the water, though in the form of a Pokémon's back smacking her rear. Prower, getting the message, eased up with his tails, going at pace that was not only more comfortable for her, but allowed the Dragon Dancing Gyarados to keep up. "Wheeee-haaaaaa!!" Shalin whooped. "I feel like I could rein up a Kyogre!"

As she and Andrea happily bounced along the waves, her eyes shifted and her head tilted toward the blur that was the Floatzel's tails. "How rider friendly is Whiskers?" she asked as Sandy continued to soar above them, her gentle hum complementing the sound of churning water. "Their tail looks really strong."

Shalin may have been a riding savant, but she knew better than to try to hop on a legendary Pokémon that wasn't under control of one of her friends. Being on top of one without its consent would result in far more harm than simply being launched off. "It's fun to imagine, though!" she retorted, clearly not having the kind of reverence Andrea did for Arceus' Most Sacred Creation. She had experience with a legend, too; in the Border, she fought a rodeo battle with the spirit of Chien-Pao. Without her Sygna Suit, the snow cat would have hurled her off with a single strong, whippy turn. Even with it, she was defeated, though the battle was much closer.

She was, however, ready for a rodeo battle with one of Andrea's dragons. "Hey Whiskers," Shalin asked as the two Pokémon made a turn, "when we get back to the shore, I'd love to hop on your tail! Sound fun?" When they were on solid ground, she would give the Shiny Gyarados gentle pets if allowed. "You're welcome to a run on Prower, too, if you want!" she turned toward Andrea, though she doubted the dragon cosplayer would be as receptive. She loved dragons, after all, and the Floatzel was far from being a dragon.

Shalin's hair stood on end as she felt Whiskers' gentle rattling upon her skin. It was intense, yet invigorating, much like riding one of her flying insects. Taking the positive response as approval, the Captain gently took a seat on the red Gyarados as close to her tail fin as she was comfortable -- if not right on it. She had been on a Gyarados before, but never by the tail!

Before they could take off, she heard Andrea's polite declination. Not unexpected, given how worn out she seemed to be from being towed by such a strong Pokémon. Shalin, too, was starting to show signs of being worn out, though she felt she had the energy for one more adrenaline rush before heading back to her room. "Fair; he can get a bit crazy," she sheepishly admitted. "That sounds like a great way to relax after this! I'm going to head up to my room when I'm done and figure out what to do with the other girls today. You two have fun!"

With that, Shalin grabbed onto the tail with all four limbs and held on tight. With how strong the water-type serpent was, this could get rough quickly.

Being flicked and flung about in her Sygna Suit had helped her hone her skills. Even so, she couldn't be too cautious. Once she was on the tail, the Captain lobbed her Flygon's Poké Ball skyward, both glowing a faint green as the dragon-type's wings gently hummed. She wanted to scream a cry of joy, but she knew better to that when Whiskers was SPLASHING and flicking her tail about its surface to build speed. She could already feel the great power behind the Gyarados' tail, and she had barely started! She had a Gyarados of her own in her Storage System account, but she had yet to introduce the Pokémon to her sanctuary's ecosystem. Perhaps this experience would incentivize her to fast-track that process.

She let that shout loose when Whiskers flicked her tail hard as part of leaping out of the water. It rocked her with such power that a flare of green light enveloped both her and her Flygon, the Sygna Suit's Infinity Energy kicking in and keeping her from being launched off the muscular aquatic dragon's tail. "Whee-hee-heeeeee!!" the girl whooped now that there would be no danger of seawater rushing into her open mouth. "Buck 'em, Whiskers!" she goaded, though she was unsure how much the Shiny Gyarados would entertain her wishes.
