“That feelin’ that everything’s about to go tits up, or the heat?” He makes a rare overt joke, soldier’s humor to guard against the heat and the dread. He wonders what is up to, wherever their data is stored. Maybe he’s having a field day with his Urshifu, fighting to his heart’s content. It sure beats the heat. Maybe his contemporaries down in Mt. Pyre are enjoying a nice drizzle courtesy of Kyogre. Either way, they’re here, and doing the best they can. [break]
His blade floats down like a leaf on the wind, inspecting the stone barricades. More shadows flood them, along with traps for the coming battle. It will not be enough. Not for a god. Every last bit helps. Every little is a gain. He presses a finger to their comms device, radioing in to the commander.[break]
“Captain Naomi. We’re up on top of Mauville Hills reinforcin’ the walls, preppin’ for Groudon. Wouldja mind droppin’ in some sygna suits for the rookie n’ me? Maybe some backup? We’ll need all the help we can get.” [break]
Sygna suits were created for this. Humans can fight gods with them and stand a ghost of a chance. Not for the first time, he wishes he could afford one.

the pokemon takes off, sure and steady, undaunted by anything in its path. it may not seem impressive, speed-wise, but the pokemon breaks through the city walls, buildings, and anyone who dares stray into its path. unfortunately, finds himself on the opposite end as the pokemon accelerates with HIGH HORSE POWER.

what’s more worrisome is that not too far behind, a troop of HEATRAN can be seen flooding into the city. all thanks to the opening the TERRAKION has so kindly busted wide open.

It's odd - how she can see and hear them inside of the simulation, like watching a film. This is unprecedented behavior for the RKS Machine. Kallistatus records all of it, every detail; Nomi will need to review later. Perhaps will have a moment to take apart pieces of the machine with her, when this is all said and done: try and make sense of the mysterious upgrade.[break][break]
makes his request, and Nomi furrows her brow. How, exactly, is she supposed to send them - [break][break]
An option pops up on the virtual screen, as if summoned by her confusion. The label glows with a soft luminescence, tempting her to choose it.[break][break]

She waits, watching as the items manifest inside the simulation, next to the two men. It reminds her of the way rewards were distributed in an RPG she played with once. If she didn't know any better, she would think this, too, was some kind of...game?

"No suit?" He whines into empty air. Every word charts a course back to the Visionary, their unseen and unown eye in the sky. "Aw c'mon! I promise t'tell my gang t'leave ya alone at the next Christmas party!" His sword has no reservations. Its cloth gropes the z-crystal. It disappears into the folds of the blade, integrating black metal and raw power into its red rippled edge.[break]
"Man, Rookie. How many asses didja kiss for that suit? She said only Admin Fox was gettin' o-"[break]
They are beset by a charging racer. Terrakion is a being known to the dog. Any swordsman would know the legend of the swords of justice. He finds the name laughable. To call a sword a tool of justice is to deny their blade its purpose. Instead, he draws it, sees the monster barreling down upon them through open walls, and cries out.[break]
"Watch out, Rookie!"[break]
beat one basic truth of chess into him time and time again: a pawn is a fine sacrifice for a more valuable piece. The dog sees himself as that, just a pawn on the board. There's no shame in the sacrifice; not here, where his life blood will not spill well and true.[break]
His blade rises to meet Terrakion. Sacred sword clashes against raw high horsepower rock and steel clash, and Terakion's blade finds purchase. The dog, too, is sent flying. Down the left side of his torso, just below the chest and trailing down to the edge of his pelvis, is a long bloody reminder of the legend's power.[break]
"Patch up the hole, Rookie." The dog commands with a grin.[break]
"Terrakion, let's dance. The Master of Faster's takin' the express train to hell." His eyes meet 's as he charges into the fray.


tl;dr
Hitoshi recognizes Josh/Terrakion
Pushes Howard out of the way
Uses sacred sword opposite Terrakion's high horsepower.
Hitoshi gets a deep cut down one side of his torso in the process.
Implores Howard to reinforce the walls while he duels with Josh.

Hitoshi's blade meets Terrakion's. It does not last for long. How could it? Hitoshi was a man born from flesh and blood and cradled within the dun of humanity. He could not match the makings of a legend in the open field.

Still, he could stall it while Howard slipped away.

That would have to suffice.

Still, rubble rained down on Howard as he scurried past, his Carbink's small size allowing it to bob and weave through rock and stone while the admin rushed towards the wall, cursing his luck. Of course Mauville's Gym Leader would show up at his city's simulation. Not only was it fate, but it made sense.

He did not understand the physics of technology, but he understood the bond between a place and its people.

"Josh. That mount's too slow for you." was a lot of things, but this was a mockery. "Make sure he doesn't leave the train 'till the end of the line."

Even a Champion could bleed.

He ran to the wall, hearing his communication with Nomi and grumbling. Hitoshi should've gotten the suit, but alas.

The remnants of the Carbink's Light Screen flickered slightly as it released a large Power Gem towards the wounds in the gaping wall, patching them with rocks and gems. Using his new Sygna Suit's powers, the admin struck his foot against the ground, and a FIGHTING WISH terrain sprang up, enhancing the swing of Hitoshi's Sacred Sword.
