It's hard to tell the time of day in a windowless interrogation room, but the way your eyes ache with weary exhaustion tells you that it must be late into the evening. [break][break]

Hours have passed since you first brought in the League official handcuffed across the table from you. [break][break]

From what you've been told, the man is privy to many of the League's confidential military plans. Locations of bases and weapons caches, names of prominent leadership, access to private communication networks - he knows more than his unassuming appearance lets on. [break][break]

It's up to the two of you to extract as much information as you can.

Behind the Leaguer, a Rotom-tablet is visible, transcribing everything said so Fenelle could read along. However, dee has taken a more passive role in the investigations so far, observing clues of body language and relaying that information while keeping der neutral face paired with an intense stare.

Still, nothing.

Dee turns to Kenjiro briefly, before stretching der hand and tapping it. Once. Twice. And then once more.

(A signal that dee told him beforehand; a question what to do next. Dee generally used morse code in tapping with der fingers or shoes, subtle signing to communicate to the Rotom, who'd transcribe it - there's no need to reveal der deafness, even if well. The prisoner might not survive it either way.)

If there was something useful that THEO BECKETT had ingrained into him—it was that there was a fine science between persuasion and outright coercion.

(While his blade itched to gut the poor League official’s ass, he held back. He had to curb the urge to release that bloodthirsty little monster inside him; so he would lead by example.)

Understanding the cue, he turned to dem and began in that quiet tone of his that he would adopt whenever the situation called for it, “Let’s try persuasion first. When they start to crack, then we lay on the pressure. But not just yet. We have to be subtle about this.”

Not everything was done with brute force in Kanto. The art of blackmail, when utilized to the fullest, would get the most amount of information in the least amount of effort expended, after all.

While you may feel somewhat exhausted from the hours spent here in this bleak room, the League official in front of you is visibly haggard and shaken up by his untimely kidnapping. He's terrified of what you might do but is putting on a brave face.[break][break]

Still, your actions give him pause. He was expecting something much more overtly aggressive from a Rocket operative. [break][break]

"...Why should I tell you anything?" He asks, hesitant, as he narrows his eyes at the two of you.

Fenelle nods at Kenjiro's suggestion, and sweeter, gentler words take the stage. The surprise from the Leaguer is obvious. A lack of aggression is unexpected, and it might throw him off enough to actually spill the beans. Maybe they could even convince him of other things ... perhaps.

The question is asked, and immediately transcribed behind his back. Mimicking a hearing person, Fenelle turns to Kenjiro with a slightly raised eyebrow - why indeed.

There's some subtle signing that the Rotom catches, and translates for the Kanto-origin Rocket to read.

More pressure now? He might be stalling.
Or we pursue persuading, at least for the moment.

Still, Fenelle would leave the words here to Kenjiro ultimately while keeping a sharp eye on the Leaguer. Who probably wondered why dee hasn't spoken at all yet.

The first part of the ‘interrogation’ would bear fruit, and the League official was definitely taken aback by the surprise tactic—perhaps they could use the surprise to their advantage; all things considered.

However, even though they had already been kidnapped, they were proving to be a little stubborn in this regard. He frowned a little, and so he figured—they already tried being nice for now.

“Allow me,” he would quietly offer der way, before approaching the League official and slamming both of his hands down on the table.

“Look at it this way. If you don’t talk, we can guarantee you’re making the trip home in a box. I’m sure you wouldn’t want that, right?”

There was this absolutely serene look with a matching slight smile on his face as he said these words, too.

Which, for all that was worth, was already frightening in and on itself—he never brought out that particular smile of his unless it absolutely warranted something bloody in exchange.

Visibly startled by your threat, he takes a moment to think over your response, weighing the heavy burden of treason versus personal survival in his mind. The man's anxiety is obvious in the way he picks at his cuticles while he internally deliberates, causing them to bleed a stark red against the dull gray all around. [break][break]

You watch and wait, patiently or otherwise. [break][break]

Finally, he decides to go with, "I-I don't actually know anything useful, I swear..."

Fenelle nods as dee reads Kenjiro's transcribed words on the screen, but also pretends to be hearing and leaning in. Then, dee simply leans back some, letting Kenjiro's words intimidate the Leaguer further while under der piercing gaze.

Truly, this man has more to lose than to gain in this situation, but ... people can be really quite stubborn indeed.

The effective threat doesn't make the man talk immediately, however, and it's a question of whether it might still happen or not ... Fenelle considers the other, tilting der head sideways a little bit in thought. Dee taps the table a few times, and a robotic voice from behind the Leaguer sounds, possibly startling him.

"Anything might be useful. Anything will be useful in guaranteeing more in your life. This is your last chance. We have nothing to lose - but you do."

However, dee also looks at Kenjiro, and motions invitingly from him to the Leaguer. Do as you please, dee seems to signal.

Thankfully, today he’d packed along a knife (rather than his preferred blade) and had already unsheathed it at der signal.

“Let’s sweeten the deal. Rather than sending you home in a box, how about we send one of your fingers back in a box… as a warning?”

That same calm, serene smile was still on his face as the blade of the knife flashed within the League official’s line of vision as he moved in; ready to land the first hit as needed!

Fenelle's neutral face cracks a bit after reading Kenjiro's words on the Rotom tablet and seeing the visible confusion of the Leaguer, now paired with fear at the sight of the blade. Der expression splits slightly into a dubious, foreboding smile, but it's hard to tell if it's genuine or an act to further sell the threats that round up their interrogation.

Information is spilled as well as the blood that drips onto the floor. Someone else would handle the Leaguer and what would happen to him now. Dee turns to Kenjiro, pointing at the Rotom that has also made a recording of everything that has transpired, in addition, to the physical notes they made over the course of the interrogation.

"Let's get those to Beast Neon and clock out. Hopefully."

It's been a long day.

“Shame we didn’t send him home in a box just yet, but I do imagine that finger will be going places,” he mulled over once they’d managed to get information out of the captured League official (and the poor shmuck had been taken back to their holding cell).

Looking over the information that the Rotom-tablet had transcribed, he would deem it satisfactory, before reaching for a piece of cloth and wiping down the knife blade.

“Yes. The quicker we get this information to Beast Neon, the better.”
