he hadn't expected to receive any invitations anytime soon, yet here he was, getting an offer to join a captain on a leisurely excursion, in a return to his homeland. indeed it had been a couple years since he had departed from paldea, but not a single day has passed where he hadn't thought about the family and pokémon that he had left behind. suffice to say that letters written to his old man - literally or digitally - were enough to convey all of his experiences clearly. still, the idea of going back would instill some hints of excitement in the man's veins.[break][break]

"sounds like a plan, but first..."[break][break]

look out! before the man could cap off his ongoing statement, a skrelp came flopping into his line of sight, flattened on the soils beneath his feet. "whoa there...!" like a magikarp out of water, the mock kelp pokémon stood at silverio's feet, nearly lifeless. he deigned to bring himself to his knees to secure the creature in his hands. "it's alright, i gotcha." he'd be risking the chances of sustaining some hazardous effect by merely touching the poison pokémon, but as a ranger, it was a risk worth taking to ensure the well-being of such a creature.[break][break]

he then diverted his attention back to the petalburg captain. "we can talk more about that trip later, yeah?" but first, as he had intended to say before the unexpected surprise, there was something he'd like to do in hoenn: learn more about its environment.
