Shalin had received that impression many times when in the wilds hunting for Pokémon. As much fun as she had with her Pokémon feigning anger, there was truly nothing like struggling against an unruly wild Pokémon doing everything it could to hurl her off. The way that Talonflame bucked and swerved was unlike any other Pokémon she had ever been on. "That's... just one reason people call me that," she replied with a grin on her face, resting a hand on Queen Zing's wing. As much as she wanted to truly impress Airi by sliding down the Beedrill's wing, she remembered that she wasn't wearing her Sygna Suit. Without it, the vibrations would reduce her to paste!

"I've seen so many ways people have caught and befriended wild Pokémon," Shalin added. The number of methods just from training other Rangers was astounding, though she was still the only one she knew that caught wild Pokémon via rodeo. Before they could continue, a defiant Rufflet swooped near Queen Zing, the bug vibrating noisily in an effort to chase the bird away. Not backing down, it stood its ground, landing on the wasp's head in front of Shalin and repeatedly PECKED at her carapace.

The wasp's eyes grew a bright blue, stretching her wings and buzzing loudly in an effort to shake the flying-type loose. The vibrations, aimed straight at the ground, reflected back into Shalin and the Rufflet, rocking them both chaotically. Shalin whooped and hollered, seemingly enjoying being shaken about so fast. The small bird, not used to it, tumbled off the insect and into a Poké Ball the girl had at the ready.

Shalin has a valid point. There are a lot of ways that trainers and rangers capture and befriend Pokémon. She refers to befriend them herself. However, there are times when a Wild Pokémon may request to battle her to test her abilities as a trainer. Still, she is not used to watching trainers or rangers risk their lives on the spot trying to capture a Pokémon. To Airi, it seems that Shalin enjoys the rush that she gets from being a daredevil.

Airi narrows her eyes at the Rufflet landing on Queen Zing's head. She could feel her heartbeat starting to race just a bit. "R-Rufflet. Please do not make the Beedrill angry!" Airi attempts to warn the bird. Apparently, the Rufflet seems to be as stubborn as the Captain Ranger. Airi's deep blue eyes widens as she watches the Rufflet peck the Beedrill a few times. Airi immediately shielded her eyes from the loud buzzing noise escaping from the large Beedrill's wings. Bean stands in front of his trainer to use Protect to guard her from the loud and powerful vibrations.

Airi's perspective was only half true; what she enjoyed was the adrenaline high from the extreme motion her Sygna Suit offered her. While she was not wearing it (and it was a good thing, for she might have scared Airi off otherwise), she still loved the thrill of being tossed about like a roller coaster would.

As soon as the Rufflet was in a Poké Ball and had been transported to storage, Shalin ordered Queen Zing to silence her wings. "What is it about Beedrill that scares you? Is it their stings, or the noise their wings make?" the Captain asked as Bean was PROTECTING the nurse.

Bean's protective barrier soon fades away as Queen Zing's wings comes to a cease. It takes a few minutes for Airi's sensitive ears to stop ringing, but she is soon able to better hear Shalin's words after a moment. "Oh, umm... Well, to make a long story short... I was almost stung by a colony of Beedrill when I was a little girl," she explains to Shalin. In a sense, she supposes it could be due to their stringers or maybe it has something to do with their aggressive behaviors. Not that all Beedrill are aggressive, right?

"Someday I do hope that I will be able to get over this fear of bee Pokémon," she adds. However, she is unsure if she will be able to overcome her fear anything too soon, but she does hope that Shalin will be understanding about it. She also hopes that Queen Zing does not become offended by her.

While so young... no wonder it scarred her for so long. "If it's the stings that are the problem, maybe this would help?" Shalin asked, sliding down from her seat. Procuring three white, foam spheres from her backpack, she slid them onto the three stings snugly. "I have to have these on when I bring her into town. It makes her stings feel more like punching gloves instead. And she wouldn't smack you to begin with!"

The Captain would give Airi a gentle pat on the shoulder if she allowed it. "You have every right to be afraid of them; wild Beedrill are some of the most dangerous pests in the world. Is it just Beedrill, or is it other bug Pokémon, too?" she asked, trying to get to the root of the problem.

Airi watches Shalin carefully, she was curious to know what the Ranger Captain plans to do with those white spheres in her hands. Luckily, Shalin does not keep her waiting for too long. Airi arches her eyebrow as she witnesses Shalin gently place the white spheres over her Beedrill's stringers. Clever. She thought to herself. Unfortunately, it does not make Airi feels less anxious around the enormous bee. "It is very considerate of you to do this, Shalin," she smiles at her. She decides to keep her distance from Queen Zing.

Airi shook her head at Shalin's question. "Not all bug-types. It's only the bee Pokémon. Beedrill, Combee... You get the picture," she responded to Shalin. Despite Combee not having a visible stringer, she still considers them to be quite intimidating, too. "I do appreciate you being so understanding about all of this. I still feel like bad about it," she says to Shalin, a soft sigh escaping from her lips.

"It's okay!" Shalin gently reassured Airi. "I've got my own fears, too! I get anxious around really speedy Pokémon, like Arcanine. Their straight-line sprints make me dizzy... and it's hard to imagine surviving a fall like that." It was a fear she was working on stamping out, thanks to a little help from Thomas Benoit . Didn't Yuina Higashi also have a Hisuian Arcanine, too? Maybe she could help.

"Maybe a flight on one of my other bug Pokémon could help?" the Captain suggested, a view from above helping them hunt for Pokémon, as well. "It's not just bee Pokémon; I love soaring on all kinds of bug-types!" Even her Flygon was an honorary bug-type, both looking and sounding like one when her wings churned.

Airi felt a little bit more at ease the second Shalin reveals that she has a fear, too. A fear of swift Pokémon. To be fair, she would have never figured that one out after watching her ride on a Talonflame's back. The red-hot birds are known to be quite agile in the sky. Airi soon found herself wondering what it would be like for Shalin to meet a Gym Leader with a huge heart for fast Pokémon. "Did you happen to fall from the back of a fast Pokémon?" Airi questions, wishing to know if it is the root cause of Shalin's fear towards Pokémon known for their superior speed.

"I appreciate the kind gesture, but I do not think it would be needed. It is not flying that I have an issue with, and I am not afraid of other Bug-types outside of bees," she responds to Shalin with a warm smile. She admires her willing to brainstorm a way to help her overcome her fear. Airi entire focus is on Shalin, she does not even bother to notice the water-types splashing around in the background.

Though she had just ridden a wild Talonflame, they were more agile than purely fast. Arcanine were straight-line sprinters with turning capability that led much to be desired. "No, but I've passed out riding an Arcanine at high speed before. I don't know if it's because of how how big and strong they are or just the speed itself, but I don't handle moves like Extreme Speed well."

Shalin frowned when she heard it was specifically bee Pokémon that were the issue. Not even stingers in general; her fear was centered around the yellow and black striped Pokémon she kept her distance from. "Given how aggressive their kind usually are, and how lethal their venom can be if more than one stings you, I can see it," she tried to console her. Neither one of them seemed aware of the Octillery taking aim at Airi, ready to blast her skyward with a HYDRO PUMP shot from below...

"That must have been a little bit terrifying," Airi stated with some concern in her voice. Despite Shalin not being in any danger at the moment, Airi still felt her heart breaking for her at the thought of her new ally passing out on a swift and powerful Pokémon like Aracanine. "Well, at least you know to avoid them now, right?" She managed to ask with a half-smile curled against her lips.

Airi was about to respond to Shalin, when she felt a jet of water make contact with her face. She shifted her attention away from Shalin then over to the octopus-like creature. "Hey! That wasn't very nice!" She yelled out at the water-type. The Otillery's mischevious manner was a total a surprise. Bean immediately made eye contact with the octopus-like Pokémon, pounding his fist in an intimidating to warn the Octillery. The small water-type didn't seem to be too phased by the Swampert's appearance. In fact, it shot a blast of ink in Bean's face, making it extremely different for it to see it. The Otillery then extended its tentacles around Airi's legs, attempting to drag her underwater. "Hey! Let me go!" She called out, trying her best to fend off the Wild Pokémon. Bean took his powerful hands and attempted to wipe off the ink, but it only caused the stain to become even worst against his face.
