Business brings them together not in the bowels of a power spot but on a path leading up the mountain at the center of Dewford island. A light mist covers the ground, as it covers much of the island ever since the battle in late May. Navy hikes up along with Airi, thankful she would come here on her day off. It’s a hard thing he means to ask her to do.[break][break]
“You’ve been doing really good with all the rescue ops, Airi. You can handle yourself real well.” Talent is a rare enough thing. It deserves to be admired, and rewarded. Though he is not her superior, he can offer her one thing even ollie morales can’t.[break][break]
“You remember the battle with Kyurem back in January, yeah? Right after the new year? Well, I caught somethin’ back then. I don’t really have room for it on my team, and I think you might be the rare kind of person who can make this Pokemon obey you.”
There’s more than one legend that calls Dewford home. He remembers the circumstances under which he met this deadly killing machine the scientists call Iron Leaves. When it and a hundred clones just like it all spawned in the bowels of the Great Chasm, they took the lives of many good men and women.[break][break]
A whistle calls the machine’s attention onto them. It walks out of the woods, just off the path, looking at both of them with a robot’s passive gaze.[break][break]

Airi finds it to be quite refreshing to spend time with Navy outside of exploring a dangerous power spot for a change. Overtime, the two of them of them have managed to forge a solid friendship with each other. During their first encounter at the Dewford Town beach, Airi would have never imagined the two of them ever hangout outside of work. However, fate seems to have a way of making even the most unexpected connections happen at the most critical time. A lot has been taking place in the Hoenn Region, and Airi needs courageous and trustworthy individuals like Navy in her life more than ever. Therefore, whenever he summons her, she makes it her business to show up for him.

"Thank you, Navy. I can't say that I've been able to do it all on my own. I've had a pretty good teacher by my side," she admits to him as a kind smile curls against the corners of her crimson lips. She appreciates him being patient with her and teaching her how to maneuver through the various power spots to appears over the Hoenn Region from time to time. She has a lot of personal goals that she wishes to achieve in the future and in order for her to turn those goals into reality, then she will need to grow a lot stronger physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. The journey will extensive, rough, and rugged, but she believes in herself, her Pokémon, and her close friends. She will become a better version of herself no matter what obstacles comes her way.

Airi's feet comes to a halt the moment she notices a majestic deer-like creature emerging from the dark shadows of the woods. The cyborg's movements were graceful, yet powerful. It's metallic coat shimmering like emeralds and pink spinel underneath the daylight. Her cool azure eyes twinkling with wonder and astonishment. "It's absolutely beautiful," she speaks softly, a gentle smile finding its way across her lips as she slowly extended her right hand out in a nonthreatening manner to see if the Iron Leaves would choose to approach her or not.

What they see as a world of vibrant color, Iron Leaves sees as information processed and fed into its logic calculators in monochrome red. Its movements are more graceful than any machine has a right to be. Though many would say it is not the equal of its flesh and blood sibling Virizion, the gap is small. Its eyes settle on Airi. They dig into her, judge her, question her silently.[break][break]
“Yeah.” Navy agrees. “Real beaut. Killed some good people when it was born, too.” Its head snaps to Navy, though his words rouse no animosity. Its logic machine simply accepts the words as fact. Instead, it pivots back to Airi. Iron Leaves looks down at her pokeballs.[break][break]
“Oh man. I think he really does have some of Virizion in him. Think he wants to test you. Am I right on the money?” A small up-down tilt of the psychic machine’s head serves well enough for a nod. Its eyes look past Airi, off to the coast. Navy wonders if it doesn’t long to see whatever’s out there by the side of a worthy trainer.[break][break]
“Welp, looks like he’s willing to humor you. Be proud. Only two people he’s ever taken a real shine to before’s Baki n me.” Hyakkaryōran Tsubaki, of course, being the island’s gym leader, and the one who originally caught this Iron Leaves. A blade of psychic energy appears over the vibrant pink energy swirling in the center of its head. It serves for an en garde.

Airi frowns a bit at Navy's remark about the Iron Leaves being responsible for the deaths of men and women in the Hoenn Region. She was hoping that her friend was teasing her a bit, but the Iron Leaves response to his words confirmed that Navy is telling the truth. She could feel her heartbeat starting to race just as she processes the new information that Navy shared with her. She did not expect to hear such words from him. However, she has to remind herself that everyone has a past. Most importantly, not everyone has a past that they can be proud of. Airi locks eyes with the Iron Leaves for a few seconds as she feels her heart opening up and accepting the Iron Leaves past. "Luckily, our past does not always have to define us. Instead, we can learn from those lessons and use them to refine our future," she states with a small smile spreading across her lips as she continues to look at the Iron Leaves, then shifts her attention towards Navy.

"A test, huh?" She asks in somewhat of a whisper. She is not one to engage in unnecessary fighting, but if the Iron Leaves wishes to put her to the test, then she will allow it. Perhaps, it will allow her to gain some respect and trust from the majestic beast. With its complicated past, it will be critical for her to find a way to touch its heart in a meaningful manner. "Alright." She responds, walking towards the opposite side of the field.

She withdraws a Poke Ball from around her waist. Her ocean orbs staring down at the Poke Ball resting between her dainty fingers before she closes her eyes, then takes a couple of deep breath to calm her nerves. She will have to put all of her trust in her Pokémon in order to defeat the Iron Leaves or at least impress it enough to earn its respect. She kisses the top of the Poke Ball before tossing it into the air, releasing her own mystical beast. The Absol lets out a petrifying howl as her blood red eyes focus on her opponent. The raw portrait of beauty and destruction. [break][break]

"Swords Dance," she commands him. The Absol's crimson eyes glow a gorgeous light-blue as she summons multiple light-blue swords around her body. The glowing swords dancing graceful around her body as she sharpy increase her attack power.

Iron Leaves does not loose a sound, not even when Absol howls or dances the ancient swords dance. Its limbs coil and it is off. Virizion, the true Virizion, demands swift action. This ghost in a machine feels much the same. It skirts towards Absol, swift as a leaf billowing in a hurricane, and its psyblade glows with pink light.[break][break]
It looks down upon the Absol and its own eyes begin to glow with light. It brings down its head upon the Pokemon, seeking first blood and the relentless advantage of speed. The ground on either side of Absol splits from the blow’s power, parting the mists around them if for but a moment.[break][break]
“Huh. He’s really comin’ out of the gate swinging.” Navy, who has never seen Iron Leaves battle much beyond a few sparring matches with Shuwen and his dragons, watches the battle with apt interest. Some part of him reconsiders letting Airi train the Iron Leaves, but he knows that it would never truly get to live out its heart’s desire to travel, were it to stay with him. There’s only so many Pokemon he can carry onto the battlefield, and they’ve never managed to hit it off quite like he has with Hattori or some of his other Pokemon.[break][break]
“Guess he goes in for decisive action, the same way Virizion does.”

Geisha's menacing dance of the glowing swords did not seem to strike any fear in her opponent's heart. If anything, the intimidating dance see to encourage the Iron Leaves to become even more thirstful to taste her blood. The snow-white beast's crimson eyes took notice of the Iron Leaves at all times. The graceful cyborg seems to be quite nimble despite its body being made from lustrous alloy. The Absol's razor-edge, bow-like horn starts to vibrate slightly as it detects danger. The vibration itself is lower frequency, but Airi's trained ears are able to sense it. The beautiful mocha-haired maiden's body quivers just a bit from the intensity of the battle taking place right before her piercing azure orbs. Geisha and Absol both watching the Iron Leaves rushing towards its target.

Despite the eerie appearance of the glowing blade shining brilliant from its head, Absol does not show any fear for she knows that the Psychic-type move would not have any major effect on her body. She is a little bewildered by her opponent decision to use an ineffective attack, but she does not allow her mind to think about it too much. Perhaps, the Iron Leaves wants to give her a warning and not anything else at the moment. Still, Geisha used her own swift movements to escape the path of the raging blade. Airi's deep blue eyes widening at the sight of the ground splitting in half. So, this what Geisha's horn predicted earlier. She thought to herself. Watching the raw power of the Iron Leaves quickly reminds her Navy's previous words.

Sprinting swiftly as the wind itself, Geisha's milk white body becomes cloaked in the uncanny mist as she charges towards Iron Leaves, leaping gracefully over the fissure. "Night Slash!" Geisha's signature horn immediately becomes engulfed by a dark aura as the blade itself increases in size and power before she slashes at her opponent, hoping to draw the first blood from her opponent. She is full of courage, but also feeling Super Lucky.

Luck is the death of strategy. Men in little rooms, running numbers endlessly, love to discuss probability, how things must happen because probability tells them that it will be so. When placed upon the battlefield, intricacies of the heart and incalculable quirks of the body throw strategy to the wayside. By all rights, Iron Leaves should be able to parry the night slash. Its machine limbs move with greased fluidity no creature of meat and blood could hope to match. When it raises its shield, attempting a guard, it should be certain…[break][break]
But, against all odds, the slash goes through. Absol’s blade-horn finds purchase. Darkest night meets psychic energy. Iron Leaves, a creature nowhere near as sturdy as it looks, buckles beneath the slash. It recoils. Strange liquid drips from a gash across its chest. It is an injury that will require more than a visit to a Pokemon Center to fix, but it will be repaired in due time.[break][break]
Not now. Now, the machine shows its flaw, its strength. It is vain, and the injury has left it desirous of an even score. Psychic energy gives way to fighting spirit. Its flesh and blood brother is a sword of justice, one who walks with unwavering conviction upon a righteous path. This ghost in the machine does not hold the same fighting spirit, but it holds an approximation of that same power.[break][break]
So it is back into the breach once more, back with a sacred sword to rend low the Absol. It hums at least, an angry sound like unoiled gears crying against one another in sound and fury and fervor.

The liquid oozing out the Iron Leaves chest is a pleasing sight to Geisha's garnet orbs. She lets out a low growl as she feels the bloodlust starting to grow inside of her spirit even more. Airi watches her Pokémon's mannerism carefully as she does not wish to see her Pokémon lose control. "Geisha, I understand that you want to win, but do not lose sight of yourself." Airi tells her Pokémon in a calm, yet stern voice. Her words reach the Absol's ears loudly and clearly without any outside distracts. The Absol inhales and exhales a couple of deep breath as she keeps a watchful eye on her opponent. Within a few seconds, Absol seem to have snapped back into her own senses. Still, her eyes burn with a desire to best her opponent. Airi smiles as she watches her Pokémon regain her poised composure. She then shifts her attention back towards the Iron Leave, taking a few seconds to observe its fresh wound. She will need to treat it as soon as possible after this match.

Geisha's continues to study her opponent's movements. She takes a few steps away from the Iron Leaves as she notices it preparing to launch another move in her direction. Without any hesitations, the Absol summons clones of herself to cover the battlefield. With an ear-piercing howl, Geisha and her clones start to prance around the battlefield in order to confuse their opponent and throw off its concretion. The white mist around them painting the image of phantoms dancing in an ethereal world as all of them took advantage of the Iron Leaves going in fury
to dodge its Sacred Sword.

The Absol and her clones then rushed towards the Iron Leaves with another powerful Night Slash.

“You sure trained your Absol well.” Navy finally chimes in, taking a moment to look from the battle to Airi. It isn’t right, distracting a trainer in the middle of a battle. It is not his intention to distract, but he finds it hard to keep the comment to himself. It’s like being a spectator at a sporting event where you are afforded the luxury of speaking to one of the participants.[break][break]
“Kinda seems familiar though, how this one fights…” The sheriff does not know that Airi and Kouji Matsubara know each other. It is a nagging feeling in the back of his mind, spurred on by old memories of a fight long long ago beneath the earth on which they stand. He turns his attention back to the fight.[break][break]
Iron Leaves raises a quick guard, psychic energy managing to skirt the night slash away just in the nick of time. The machine prances back, trying to stay one step ahead of Geisha. To be cornered by one Geisha or many will spell its end, legendary paradox or not.

Airi breaks her concentration for a moment to address Navy's comment. "Ah, thank you. You have no idea how much that means to me, Navy. We have come along way, trust me." Airi tells him without going into too many details. However, knowing Navy's incredible ability to read between the ones, she is confident that he can put two and two together. She will never admit it to him, but she is proud of herself and her Pokémon's ability to impress him on the battlefield. She considers him to be one of the most well-experienced warriors on the battlefield.

Airi is a little puzzled by Navy's next words. "Huh, what do you mean by it?" She asks him, arching her right eyebrow at him. Does her Absol's fighting style reminds him of someone else? She turns her attention back towards the battle as she awaits her mentor's answer to her previous question.

The Absol snarls the moment she feels her powerful blade-horn make contact with the psychic barrier that softens the blow of her attention against her opponent. She performs an aerial to create distance between the two of them as she regroups with her clones. It is painfully obvious that neither side wants to give up, but eventually one of them will have to fall. The Absol and her clones coat their blades with a dark aura once again before jetting towards the Iron Leaves at full force. However, instead of coming from a clear path the Absol and her minions would bolt and leap from various directions, making it difficult to determine which angle the real Geisha will attack it.

The eyes of a machine betray nothing. Who can say what lies within the heart of a being many would say is without a soul? It watches Absol, that which the humans have named Geisha, coat herself in darkness for the third time. Machines learn. They learn better than humans or Pokemon ever could. Machines divorce themselves from all emotion, all sentiment and outside reasoning. Iron Leaves is learning, and it sees a pattern.[break][break]
This is a sword fight, and it has not had a proper sparring partner in the short course of its life. It is learning, and it leans that one should not repeat the same tricks again and again. Iron Leaves gathers about itself the power of grass. Clones come from it, coming from all angles in an act of high aggression. Its logic processor tells it to carve in an arc, and so it does.[break][break]
It sweeps across what would be and will be empty air except in the precious moments where it matters. It spins in a perfect circle, leaving a trail of green behind. The leaf blade is perfect, in the way only a thing separated from flesh and blood can be. Only the trail of golden oil to its side and in a pool beneath Iron Leaves serves as a reminder that there is more to the machine.[break][break]
“Don’t really know. You remember fighting styles. It’s aggressive. Fought an Absol like her once.” The warrior says. “Feels less elegant than the rest of your team. Not that it’s not elegant, but she’s pretty the way something vicious is pretty. Wouldn’t wanna get near her if I was on her bad side.”

Geisha's devious crimson eyes slightly widens as she takes notice of her opponent changing its body stance. The Iron Leaves' shining, emerald-green blade of energy swiftly slicing and dicing her treasured clones, turning them into meaningless multicolored particles before becoming swallowed by the ravenous mist surrounding them. Unfortunately for Geisha, her copies were not the only ones to taste the Iron Leaves' shimmering blade. The Absol let out a loud and painful cry as she feels the sharp blade of light pierce her left side. The impact of the blade making contact against her body, causing her to fly back in the air. She winched in anguish as she felt the fresh gash against her side start to drip of blood, deeply staining her pristine coat. Her blood-red orbs staring intensively at the Iron Leaves as she tries to ease her breathing.

"She is like a beautiful nightmare, huh? Intriguing, pretty as a picture, but vicious." She says, taking a moment to look at her Absol then over at Navy. She hates to see her Absol's snow-white fur become ruined by the warm blood oozing out of her body. Even more, her heart aches a bit to see her Pokémon in her current condition. However, she knows that Geisha wishes to continue to fight. Navy is right about one thing. Geisha does prefer raw power over elegance. However, since she has been training alongside Airi and the best of her team, she has learned to become more graceful and elegant. Still, she is always willing to fight to the end unless her trainer tells her otherwise.

Geisha's daunting eyes keeping a watchful eye on her opponent as she focuses on recovering some of her strength. Despite waiting to retaliate with pure power, Geisha knows that her moves are too predictable. If she wishes to win this battle, then she will have to take advantage of some of her less favorable moves. Her orbs of flames start to glow a light blue as she predicts a Future Sight.

There is no such thing as an ironclad future. Geisha sees many futures where she loses. Iron Leaves is an untrained thing, a goldmine of power waiting to be tapped. Even still, it is strong, as all beings who play at being legends and gods are strong.[break][break]
In one, she dashes forward. Iron Leaves’s precise blade cuts her down, a sacred sword that at last finds its target.[break][break]
In another, their blades clash. Iron Leaves mirrors her night slash and the machine overwhelms weakened flesh. Its eyes have no malice as the world fades.[break][break]
In a third, they mirror one another in a swords dance before, cascading off of gathering power, Iron Leaves overwhelms her utterly.[break][break]
But, within the strands of causality, tempered by improbable probabilities, there exists a chance. Perhaps it is her only chance. This chance begins in the same realm as disaster, where she cuts right towards her target in a dash.[break][break]
Only, this time, at the last moment, she slides down, hooks her blade up, makes the wound she has made in its chest worse. It will not kill, but it will cry out. It will, at last, be forced to admit defeat. There is her chance, there is her play.[break][break]
Iron Leaves takes a step forward in the present. It’s now or never.[break][break]

Geisha's eyes continue to glow light blue as she envisions a clear path that will lead her to victory. A few seconds passes and her crimson eyes return back to their original state. The fierce and majestic Absol understands what she must do to take down her opponent. It will be not an easy path for her to take, but it will be well worth it in the long run.

Absol lets out a spine-chilling howl from deep within her soul as her death-dealing bow-like blade becomes blanketed in a dark aura that shimmers eerily in hues dark purple and midnight blue. She takes a few seconds to channel the dark blood that is circulating throughout her body to harness the energy to extend her piercing blade in shape and size.

A few short growls escape from her maw as she feels the powerful of her blade intensifying more than it ever has in the past. The new energy following inside of Geisha's body slightly catching Airi by surprise. She places her hand over her chest, then closes her eyes. For a few seconds, it feels like the beating of her heart is synced with Geisha's heart. A soft smile fans out across her lips as she senses the strong desire that her Absol has to defeat her opponent. "I can feel just how much you want to earn this victory... Give it you all," she whispers underneath her breath. [break][break]

The word of her trainer seems to be more than enough to give her the strength that she needs to carry out her mission. Absol lets out another howl as she rushes towards the Iron Leave in a zigzag motion to make her moves somewhat unpredictable. Her stained body soon fading within the thick mist right before she leaps high in the air before flashing at the cyborg with all of her might.
