Two of them are sent to quell ten. Ten animals pretending to be men lounge in what was once, long ago, a gym. Disrepair has given way to active rot in the wake of Regirock and howard slayte. Inside, the animals smoke, drink, and make merry. If these ten are made an example of, another thousand might fall in line. When they enter, the ten look up. Only one speaks. He’s tall, with a jaw that looked like it was carved out of marble with a buzzsaw. Dressed the part of a Kanto grunt, his sleeves are rolled up. His muscles are a work of art, the tattoos along both arms marking the man as having been in at least one prison gang. Adjusting a black trucker cap, he looks at the taller of the two.[break]
“Didn’t know the circus was in town.” The tall cuss drawls in a bumpkin’s accent. “Admin Fox send you to juggle for us, Hoenn boys?”[break]
“That’un’s a Jo.” An overweight man with six ultra balls at his waist launches a slur at Shred’s accompaniment with casual cruelty. He picks a bit of meat out of his teeth with a bowie knife. “Guess they don’t feed ‘em much over in Johto.”[break]
“Shuddup,” growls the man, “men are talkin’ Joey.”[break]
Tough as Joey thinks he is, he shuts up.[break]
“Like I was sayin’, the hell you want? My boys n’ me are busy reapin’ Hoenn’s fields.”
