Working with Remiel Calcifet, Yuina knew a touch of Galarian history and culture here and there, but she was far from well versed on the Darkest Day, and certainly not to a degree that she could begin to understand how her research into Celestica and Eris' research into Galar could have any ties to each other.[break][break]

Sliding another book across her desk, Yuina again began gingerly turning pages before coming to what she was looking for, the section carefully marked by some paper tucked into the corners.[break]
"Yes. That passage, and some others, are what I've been working on translating," Yuina returned, glancing down to the pages she held in front of her.[break][break]
"Throughout Hisui, plate lie scattered-- plates with powers all diverse. Forever lasting, each inscribed with eternal prayer's verse," she read first, words muddled a bit on her tongue, but she was working on it. She'd only just rediscovered the language.[break][break]
"It talks about 'plates', with diverse power, inscribed with 'eternal prayer's verse'," she offered, glancing to the two tablets that laid out on her desk.[break][break]
"Have these ever exhibited any kind of power by themselves," she asked, wondering if how much more about the plates before this instance might be known.

Neither has she seen her mother write anything on this unknown language, despite having written some things down on Draconids and that examples of that ancient text Howard was working on. "So Hisui... is like an ancient region? An alternate timeline?"[break][break]

She knows of Hisuian pokemon, she just doesn't quite understand what the place they originate from is like.[break][break]

"Iunno if the plates ever did, but I've heard people are testing it in sygna suits to bond with pokemon they couldn't before."

"I thought, for a while, it was Hisuian, but it's older than that, a more root dialect," Yuina offered first. She was still only just gathering her findings, she would have to present everything for evaluation, but she was sure enough on what she'd found.[break]
"I'm pretty sure it's Celestica," she answered finally.[break][break]
"Hisui was what Sinnoh was called before it was colonized and settled. So ancient yes, but alternate not so much," at least... as far as she knew... But Sinnoh was a real place, a real region that everyone in this timeline knew about, so that added up at least.[break][break]
"I've heard about the testing in sygna suits too. It seems... unwise, to test on something no one has any understanding of," she wondered first, but then again...[break]
"But that hasn't stopped anyone before, or yet."

True words, Yuina couldn't argue with Eris in the slightest. If one side did something, the other side of the line was sure to follow suit in quick succession and vice versa. The power balance was always going to continue to sway and waver, but it would never give way.[break][break]
"I'm still working out the details, it's all still very new, but I think Celestica were a people. It's possible that they settled in would be Sinnoh before Jubilife Village was ever established," she theorized, but only just. She had only barely started to scratch the surface after seeing the word 'Celestica' come up without understanding its context or knowing what it meant. So it became a search for the definition of a specific word first that started to snowball into something else entirely.

"Jubilife Village was the first colonized settlement in Hisui, and later became Jubilife City as it grew and as Sinnoh was settled officially," Yuina offered, sliding over another book, something more recent with computer graphic renderings, and in a centerfold display she offered Eris a rendered map of "Sinnoh" from centuries ago.[break]
"It was easily accessible by boat before sea levels changed over time, and created the first port into the region for a long while," she pointed out the section of land on the western side of the map, an island essentially before the rivers dried up from the snowcaps melting in the north.[break][break]
"When I started working with Hisuian History, I had some resources to call out to for material. I did get some of these books from other collections in the Sinnoh Region, some where here in Hoenn in archives. This one did come from Sinnoh, and they were happy to provide it. As a whole... the region hasn't done very well in preserving or recalling its own history, so it didn't come as a surprise that they had materials they hadn't considered much," Yuina answered. The Sinnoh region had an awful problem with industrialization ruining most of what it had been before.

"It's not uncommon for academia to share resources or archive materials across various facilities. We have some Johto materials, some Alola, and other regions in our storage here," Yuina offered, just part of the work. Someone at another facility might have a specific field of expertise that could work on materials that another facility doesn't have the resources for. It wasn't out of the question.[break][break]
"Someone might have at one point been working on these texts, but it's hard to say. Sinnoh's academia and historical focus doesn't necessarily favor their distant past, they're much more focused on what's beneath Sinnoh. Fossils, ores, minerals, very textile," she answered, a bit sad, but she knew that even the very region itself didn't care much for its ancestral history. It was a shame, given how rich it was.[break][break]
"So I started gathering what I could and started working on detailing the history, because--," she paused, glancing down at the map laid out in front of them.[break]
"I lived in Hisui for a time. It's not history to me, not really, it's what I remember."
