(beginning of august '24)

"What the fu-" Cass surpresses a swear as her phone suddenly starts acting up. She can't see what's wrong, just hears that something is very wrong. And she has no idea what to do about it. "Do you have any idea- didn't you say you work with tech?" she asks the other, introduced as Xuying.

However, their phone also seems to act up, as it's also a source of the noises ... and she ponders, squinting into the dark. There's a pull ... and before she could think on it, she's already taken a step ahead.

Honestly, Xuying hasn't even noticed much of an anomaly with his phone, considering it's always making strange noises all the time, every time. He just assumes it's his relative blowing up the group chats again, but maybe ... As he looks at the other, he only shrugs with a vague smile, "I mean, I guess? But that doesn't mean I know what is going on here-"[break]

Always those assumptions. Woah. But still ... there is intrigue piqued as he goes along with the flow of going further into the deep dark. "Let's see what this is all about ..." he mutters, more to himself than not.

"I mean, you could've ..." Cass returns defiantly, but she does feel a bit bad about making those assumptions - however, before she could attempt to smooth things over, there's already something else. A darkness that's seemingly becoming thick and tangible, a darkness that surrounds them entirely, almost ... she swallows.

"Hey, do you also feel so unsettled-" she starts, before she feels the eyes closing in closer and closer. A distorted voice rings in her head. She fights the urge to close her eyes, simply let everything pass ... "What the fuck." Are there any normal scenarios in this simulation, or is it simply a simulation for horror in the first place?

She thinks back on Ogerpon ... at least one scenario that's kind.

Nothing like that sweet, sweet terror of a million eyes or something similar staring at you - emerging as you hit rock bottom, quite so. He isn't able to catch what the other might be saying, or has been saying, only staring into much too many Unowns at once to truly be able to discern what this is about.[break]

"What the fuck," he lets out nearly simultaneously with Cassandra before grabbing her arm and trying to dash out of here asap, stat, his own eyes fixated on the ground, hoping those Pokémon wouldn't emerge even further. What are they even on about? Is that something with this other thing he saw in a different scenario, some other time?

The world suddenly shifts and then turns rather ... small. And different. Her eyesight is not what it usually would be ... and everything is weird, really. Though she does feel her teen rebel even enhanced, and ... looking at the other, it's ... "Did we just become pokémon?" she asks. Looking at her hands, it looks like she's been transformed into a ... Drizzile? Not what she'd expect, but hey, she supposes part of it does fit ...

... but the fact that she isn't a Trubbish doesn't quite sit right, even if it is correct that she isn't one. Jon is one.

"I wanna turn back, that's weird," Cass tells the other, wondering what they could to do reverse that transformation ... usually, such things are tied to some kind of quest, so maybe?!

The next thing that happens is quite weird - the world shifts to a very weird form, sort of kaleidoscoping in front of him as he opens his eyes next once the scenario finished manifesting fully. And then ... He feels strange. There is something ... odd about this all as his vision doesn't change back and factually, he is much more on ground-level than he used to be. Is he crawling? Is he ...[break]

He looks over at the much larger Drizzile that seems to be the one he saw in the previous scenario, too, the one he seems to be doing this simulation thing together. But why is she a Pokémon? And ... if she is one, what the heck is he even? "What am I?" Xuying voices, squints as he agrees, "I can't see shit like this, for real ..." Maybe if he wishes hard enough, it'll happen? Surely they won't be torn apart by whatever is going on?

Cass pauses as she looks at her simulation partner. That's ... that's wild, actually. "You're a Dottler. You know, that bug pokémon with the d20 on its body?" she tells him matter-of-factly, but there's also ... she, by no means, dislikes it. She actually quite likes the pokémon, but seeing the other as it ... yeah, that's just a bit strange.

Nevertheless, they both try to regain their humanity, but both of them fail eventually. The only thing that does happen for Cass is ... her evolution to an Intelleon. "This ... is not what I meant with human," she sighs, looking at her hands. At least they were humanoid-shaped again, instead of being fists, but ... "This is ... just a simulation. We'll figure it out. We'll turn back eventually."

Just a simulation ...

"... There is a d20 on my body?" Xuying voices with a level of confusion, trying to squint at himself, but to no avail. Back in Unova, this kind of Pokémon hasn't been that common and he also hasn't managed to catch one of his own just yet. "Guess I'll have to see for myself another time," he only shrugs as he still ponders how they can return. This form is quite inconvenient after all ...[break]

But try as it might, his sight doesn't change and nothing, in fact, changes - apart from the other who turns into an Intelleon after some time, and he feels himself also shifting into the next stage - not exactly breaking back into a human, but ... well. This. Orbeetle. "Anytime now ... the simulation seems to be stuck on this scenario for a little to long to my liking," Xuying sighs out loud, shaking his whole body as he does so - and finally, he sees the beginnings of a shift, pixels dispersing as something new rises. Whatever they have to face now, though ... won't he come to regret having wished for this scenario to end?

The life as pokémon is already brief in Cass' memory, almost as if it has been a dream. A rude awakening follows as they're thrown into the arms of a storm, crackling with lightning and thunder that deafens them to the ceaseless rain above. And there, Thunderus appears in its Therian form ... she's read about it in sleepless nights, another god that could shake the foundations of her home.

The scenario is much like the time she met Kyogre with Vespa Baskerville, and this time, there's not much different.

Without even considering further, she's already yelled, "BATTLE ME!"

But maybe, Xuying would have other plans ...

Xuying still has to wrap his head around the last puzzling scenario when they emerge in the next - it feels disorienting to be back in his human form, even more so on a ship that is tossed and turned by the waves. He can only grimace as he holds his head, and ... Uh oh. With horror, he notices the enormous force ahead and - for once, it's a Legendary Pokémon that he can recognise. "What the heck is Thundurus doing here-" he only manages to mutter to himself when-[break]

"Are you out of your mind? What is wrong with the youth these days?!" he blurts out immediately, looking around to grab his Pokéballs as he tries to steady himself (he fails) and sighs. Alright ... alright. There is somewhat of a lopsided grin on his face when he releases all three of his companions. "Fine ... fine, let's battle it. This isn't even real, so what, I guess." Does he know how to really battle? Not really, but - go figure.
