Reports of golden apparitions appearing near their newly acquired zone were beginning to spread concern rumors amongst the grunts in Rocket. Somehow it managed to work itself into the form of a 'seek & destroy' mission which landed in Victoria's lap. After spending a few weeks on the mend in the medical bay it would seem it was right back to 'business as usual' with her.

[break][break] Good. It gave her something to keep her mind focused on.

[break][break] Not only was she tasked to investigate and deal with these disturbances but she also was assigned babysitting duty, it would seem. In reality, Rocket clearly was making use of all of their resources. That also meant bodies.

[break][break] New recruits and members were joining their ranks. It wasn't that much of a surprise that she would be told to help ease them into things, after all she'd been around for a long time. She could effectively show them the ropes.

[break][break] The problem was that Tori was not in the proper headspace to be looking after anyone. She was barely keeping it together herself what with brewing issues between her father, THEO BECKETT and the new unwelcome arrival of Raziel Beckett. Tori's hand balled into fists at her side just at the thought of it.

[break][break] The sound of leaves and branches crunching beneath her booted heels were the only indicators of her arrival at the meeting point. Beside her Raiden, her Zeraora, and Osiris, her Lucario, trailed after her. Both awkwardly enduring the other's presence. They were still getting used to one another but for the most part they didn't cause any issues.

[break][break] She was the first to arrive, which was a bit of a surprise. Normally she would run late to meetings but it would seem she was truly thrown off with recent events considering just how early she had managed to show up.

it was a shame the majestic gold pokemon he’d heard about couldn’t be captured. still, desmond was more than glad to go after one of hoenn’s newest apocalyptic marvels, if only to see what it was capable of.[break][break]

desmond identified the mythical pokemon in the corner of his eye with great curiosity. on the surface, his attention fell to the pretty violet mercenary he’d been paired up with.[break][break]

Rain had already began to softly fall in the woods when he approached. Osiris was first to sense his presence followed by Tori and and Raiden mere seconds later. Violet hues watched him carefully as he sauntered up to her with overflowing confidence. As the skies darkened, clouds heavy with rainwater that emptied out towards the earth, the soft approach of rolling thunder could be heard not too far off.

[break][break] Tori didn't flinch, however, she remained still as the rain softly battered the trees and dripped down her face. She studied her newest arrival carefully in silence. His mannerisms were slightly off-putting, in only the way she found men like him irritating. She could see it in his smile and posture.

[break][break] Old habits died hard, and it seemed judging books by their cover was something of second nature to her now.

[break][break] She watched as the man slid off a black glove and extended a hand towards her. Her gaze slowly followed his movement, staring at his hand for a while before glancing back up at him. She hesitated for a moment. Her past self would've shrugged off the contact but she figured such obvious abrasiveness would do her no favors.

[break][break] After a moment of pondering she shrugged off the tree she had been leaning against and reached out to take his hand firmly. "Tori." she quipped before brushing a wet strand of her hair behind her ear. "Nice to meet you."

[break][break] Though her dry facial expression failed to convey her honied words. Blame her resting bitch face.

[break][break] The thunder crackled loudly as it seemed to be approaching faster than before. Glancing off in the direction they should be heading she frowned. "We should get started..." she muttered. "You ready?"
