The Troubadour quietly listened as the Nameless One shared their sobering tale. They did not play on their lute this time, for the tale that was shared.

"There is many a world with many a danger," the Troubadour said, "and one can hardly know what to expect in their first foray. It is unfortunate that a sacrifice was necessary, but that sacrifice is why you are here now to tell your tale - and most importantly, your companion's tale."

The Troubadour laid down their lute, looking the Nameless One in the eyes.

"Never forget that tale, and never forget your companion. For we all suffer two deaths; one, when we take our final breath, and the second is the last time our name is spoken. For as long as you remember your companion, they will live on with you. And even should you pass, so long as their name is known, they will live on."

"As will yours, as you become a renowned Hero. So do not forget them, and do not stop trying to be the Hero you wish to be."

The Troubadour picked up their lute once more, strumming a few notes.

"That will do. I won't keep you here any longer. You may go - and thank you for sharing your tales with a wandering Troubadour!"

For the Nameless One still had a goal to achieve - to reclaim their name.

"I never forget those I've lost," the Nameless One responds. "not a single one of them." Behind her, the spirits of those she lost always follow, always at the back of her mind. But to hear that the Troubadour agreed to that mindset, confirmed something in the girl's mind. Never to forget those who brought her this far. There may come a time she looks down at the mountain, to see how far she climbed, and to remember every moment of that climb, was precious to her. Never to forget.[break][break]

Never stop trying to be the hero she wanted to be. And as he strums, and lets her on her way, the Nameless One nods.[break][break]

"You're welcome. And thank you, Troubadour. May your songs inspire the masses." She begins to walk past him, past the bridge. The goal once again coming to her mind, her focus continuing.[break][break]

The Fairy from behind, merely watches with his sword eye open. She handled that remarkably well. But they all won't come that easy. This is known.

Into The Ring

The Nameless One reaffirmed their convictions, and they would not let the ones that fell be forgotten. They would become the Hero they always wanted to be, and they would carry the names they held into legend.

Ah, but first, they would have to reclaim their own name!

And so, after offering their parting words, the Nameless One carried on with their quest.

As strange as the terrain may have seemed to the Nameless One, illogical even, it would be clear that they were getting closer and closer to the castle. The Fairy's guidance was a boon that they would struggle without.

The next leg of their journey brought them into the woods. Much brighter and more colorful than the ones they'd first been lost in, the very fauna was as alien as this kingdom. Yet up ahead, was an opening, with two fae waiting for them: one unfamiliar, a tough-looking creature, whose low posture undercut what should've been an imposing look.

The other, was very familiar.

"Well well well, look who showed up," the Ruler leered, "And here I was expecting you to get lost 'til you became my subject. I was just having a little chat with my Fighter friend here about what to do with you. Tell me, did you enjoy sharing tales with my Troubadour? It sounded like they'll have some interesting ones to tell once you're done!"

When the terrain leads to the woods, a much more colorful section of the wood, there sat a tough-looking creature, an imposing fae that was ready. The Nameless One sees it, a hand to the Fairy on her back. But with this creature, sits something else, more important than the creature.[break][break]

The Ruler. And the boy from the troubadour's tale. A smile sits on her lips, knowing him more for who he is. A coward.[break][break]

"I did. I enjoyed your bard's presence. A sweet Fae, with a sweeter song." She takes a step forward, letting the Fairy sit idly on his back. Her demeanor turns to the Fighter, and she turns back to the Thief. "But not you."[break][break]

She closes her eyes, not wishing to see him. The Cowardly Boy. The Nameless One takes a step forward. "You're just like me in that way, your Majesty. We both are not from this place. But we differ in one key way," she starts, unafraid of the imposing Fighter that stood at the ready. If they come, let them. She will fight this her way.[break][break]

Her eyes are filled with conviction as they re-open. "When I claim my name back, and leave this world behind, I will leave it better than I found it." She holds her hand out to him. "But... it's not too late to change that."
