The air crackles with electricity, leaping in and from the Iron Thorns as something inside of it has been activated. Kat has seen it in the work before, too, but it's as intimidating as ever. While the Rocket's expression is calm, Kat doesn't even make any efforts to conceal the terrified expression now - fixed on her pokémon as it follows her command.

Her hands wrap around two pokéballs - one that seems to charge itself, and one that calms her down.

The crunch of Irohta is violent and sparks electricity that is deafened by the cold ice. But it's a melee move - and just what the Annihilape needed, too. A Rage Fist hits the Iron Thorns where it hurts, with all its vulnerable spots exposed. She can almost see the bits of internal machinery break away. A digital roar cracks as the Iron Throns plummets backwards, barely able to hold itself from the destruction the ape's punches caused. Without her command, it goes into a Wild Charge using the last bits of its power as it goes into Overdrive, generating a heat that is palpalable even from afar, melting the last bits of the snowfall from before.

"No-" she grits her teeth, tossing another pokéball as the mech makes its final stand - an unfocused attack, zapping its surroundings as it lunges forward. "Zuzu, help him- Heal Pulse!" An Audino has appeared, utterly shocked at the scene unfolding in front of him, but nodding decisively as he pushes the crackling electricity away with a wave of soothing healing. Still, the mech needs more than that as it's overclocking.

But, as it's a pokémon still, the Heal Pulse managed to wrapped around its core, preserving it.

Kat lets out a long, quiet breath.

Irohta wouldn't suffer from an explosive shutdown, possibly never to be recovered, which is the relief Katharina needs to not have shattered by Zuzu being attacked ... but gladly, he's been with her the longest, too. It's way too fast to avoid the attack, but's he's quick on the uptake, managing to at least not fully die while Katharina is doing other business. Which is, right now, recalling both of her pokémon - allowing Zuzu to rest for another moment.

But it also leaves her for a moment without a pokémon in between the Annihilape, the Rocket and herself.

Looking at them directly, she knows she can't win this fight ... but she can't give up either. Not when she hopes for backup to arrive still, for someone to carry the injured ones away ... so they do not wake up prisoners of war. It's ... "Ah, fuck it," she murmurs as she brings out another pokémon - not her last yet, as Zuzu and also Teein are in their balls still, but ...

The Roaring Moon dwarfs her. And its natural predatory instincts kick in without her giving a command. It locks eyes with the Annihilape and goes in directly for a Jaw Lock, aiming to crush its opponent as Katharina takes a deep breath.

The last time she saw it fight, it's been against, essentially, beings made of light.

Seeing Roaring Moon - also lacking a name, as none has come to Kat yet - lock the Annihilape in its jaw is jarring to say the least, but she gives herself credit where it's due ... she doesn't flinch anymore. In her time as nurse, most of the most gruesome injuries have been witnessed in the last few weeks, having forced her to adapt quickly. Though she can't treat this ape's wounds, or any of the pokémon before ... Maki's words ring through to her, "Never know when a Rocket will jump you." She swallows, her throat feeling dry as she looks at her Roaring Moon.

A force of nature that she isn't sure yet if she has fully grasped - but it respects her, at least, though it wouldn't wait long for a command as the Malamar unleashes onto it. "Jaw Lock!" she commands, her voice wavering slightly as she takes a deep breath. Alright. Given that she's defeated three and has been defeated in threes ... she can't win this if Roaring Moon goes down. She clutches her Audino's ball, thinking about the tent behind her.

"... What happens at the end of the fight?"

Maybe she admits defeat in a way, though it doesn't actually mess with her fighting spirit. Her goal's been to buy time in any regard, and she didn't really think she could actually win either. Just enough for backup to arrive. But if it's too late ... she needs to know, even if words might be empty shells.

While Kat wavers, Roaring Moon certainly doesn't. The missed attack results in another roar, disrupted by the Malamar's attack - that does more damage than before. That's not how it's supposed to work- On its own accord, the Roaring Moon goes for another Jaw Lock, using its whole body to encage the Malamar before going for the bite with fierce.

Kat in the meanwhile gulps at Maki's words. She can't let that happen to her patients - but back-up's taking an awfully long time to arrive, and she isn't sure how much longer she can hold on ...

Having made a decision, she tosses out Audino again, behind the Roaring Moon - after that brief time in the ball, he looks better than before, and she can see determination in his eyes. "Heal Pulse," she asks of her pokémon, her ball at the ready to recall him as needed if she's fast enough - and she takes another pokéball out, though this movement is an attempt at sneaky. (Arguably a pretty mid one.)

Teein, I need you to find anyone associated with the League that can help us ... rangers, officers. Other nurses. Teleport them back here. The Natu that just appeared is gone with a flash again.

Something isn't right. Kat hasn't paid it much mind before, but seeing it now, the Malamar's attacks are devastating. Nothing that a simple Heal Pulse can fix so quickly. The shreds of defiancy that Katharina has felt before are now more like distant memories of the past, though she can't give up. She simply can't, given how much is on the line still.

But right now, there's also another danger coming up - something that Katharina has read about briefly, but never interacted with. "Oh fuck," she swears, "Zuzu-" The Audino nods, braving this unknown situation that would surely just lead to temporary darkness.

Being hit by another Super Power, the Roaring Moon is barely conscious and frenzied, thrashing as it goes for a last attempt of Breaking Swipe, before it vanishes into a flash of red that Katharina is too occupied to notice.

She runs ahead in front of the tent's entrance, resorting to simply physically blocking it, even if it's useless as Zuzu goes for a Disarming Voice to try and stop the Houndoom's advances. "You can't."

Zuzu looks at the Houndoom with confusion and despair - he's about to launch himself in a Double-Edge at it, hoping that this might do something, but they're all worn out. He isn't sure if Kat might lose it more - or if they're beyond that point already anyway.

Her eyes are fixed on Maki who now approaches as well with the Audino also barely posing a threat anymore, as he rushes by Katharina's side, and the Houndoom's movement is unstopped. "I- I won't," Kat calls out, even as her hands are trembling. Even as her arms, outstretched as if to try and cover the tent entrance with only her body, are shaking like leaves in the wind. But her eyes are filled with ill-placed, but still immovable intent.

"Nurse Kat-? What's going on, we've heard-"

Well, formerly immovable. She doesn't turn around at the scared voices, her eyes fixed ahead, but starting to waver. "It's- It's going to be fine," she starts, before ... the Rocket definitely seems like they're going to grab her, and well- Kat lunges forward first, grabbing the other and just tackling her to the ground.

It all happens to the shock (not surprise) to Zuzu who's now going for the Double-Edge in an attempt to distract the Houndoom from fully unloading on the one who reached for its trainer.

In the distance of Kat's mind, she hears shocked gasps as more and more patients understand what exactly has happened.

Kat doesn't see Zuzu flying - eyes fixed on Maki in front, driven by something desperate, instinctive. But at least there's one moment in which Kat feels on top of things again - just to come spiralling down again like white cloth fluttering to the ground.

Her eyes widen with shock as the Rocket's (effortlessly, frankly) managed to pin her to the ground. There's no escape, nothing she can do now - only hoping that she might've bought some more time, but what did she pay? What's the price ...

...

Clonk.

A weak moment of resistance that tips the scales - this isn't worth it. And that's the only reason Katharina doesn't die, a lack of importance. It wouldn't matter any which way. It's not a new feeling, as the Rocket stands up, walks away, but it surely feels like something more shackling now. A feeling of defeat despite being alive - though she'd revel in that later, right now, it feels like it's burying her.

Until she moves again, carried by the sense of duty as she hears worried voices.
