Women Previously in Caves [M]

[attr="class","aurelie-lyrics"]Not all who wander are lost. [attr="class","border"] Even as she started asking random passersby for any news of the women who'd gotten lost deep in the Cave of Origin with her, Aurelie caught herself wondering why she felt so strongly about finding them. It wasn't as if she'd known them very long or particularly well, after all. They'd met for the first time only today while evacuating from the threat of Kyogre before it arrived in Sootopolis.
Yet, in the space of a morning, they'd been through a lot together. A chase underground, an encounter with two Enteis at once, a lot of swiftly growing tera crystals, the weird tera tree that turned out to be connected to the Dyna Tree, the ferocious glittering Walking Wake, the blue crystalline stalactite...
It'd been quite an adventure, even before Kyogre flooded Sootopolis and all-out war broke out across the beleaguered city. Enough for Aurelie to feel like some kind of bond had formed between them.
Of course, she reflected, whatever bond there was, I broke it. But then...doesn't that mean I owe that woman a chance to tell me off or snub me or whatever? Assuming that's something she even cares about, anyway.
With that remorseful and none-too-reassuring thought in mind, the redhead rounded a corner and promptly collided into someone stumbling down the waterlogged street. "Oof! Hey! Watch where you're..."
Aurelie's voice trailed off as she noticed the woman who bumped into her had bedraggled, waterlogged white hair and was wearing a shredded, dirty, yet somehow familiar Johtonian outfit. Her eye widened with a sudden surge of feeling that could've been hope, or relief, or just recognition.
"Wait a minute," she exclaimed, her voice softening as she reached out to steady the other woman. "Is that you? Um...um..." She groped for words helplessly for a moment, realizing they'd never so much as exchanged names when they met deep within the Cave of Origin.
"Well, were you a civilian who got evacuated into the Cave of Origin?" she asked instead. "The one with the runaway Walking Wake? Because if you were, I've been looking for you."
She ran a hand through her own sodden, tangled red hair and sighed. "If it isn't you, then I'm sorry for wasting your time blabbering nonsense. But if that was you...
"Then I'm still sorry. Because I was down there with you, in those tunnels full of tera crystals. But then I ran off, because of a tree being lit on fire. I'm sorry for leaving you to...whatever happened to you when the city got flooded and nearly sank into the ocean."
