lisette's pokemon are smarter than her. this is a truth she has come to accept over the years. her gothitelle, once a wayward gothita lost in the woods, now stands tall and proud before her trainer, using its psychic powers to their advantage. it communicates with the other pokemon, and telekinetically intervenes with wild pokemon, leaving no room for error whatsoever. [break][break]

lisette watches it all unfold, occasionally throwing in a command or two, but ultimately leaving the fate of her pokemon to themselves. that's how she's always been — a true, blindly loyal grunt, from even before she joined team rocket. someone like her will never question orders, or even wonder about the reasoning behind it all. she will simply carry out their will, and be unrelenting as death itself all the while.[break][break]

and just then, the sound of footsteps. these routes are busy with the sounds of battle and conflict, both league and rocket trying to dig their hooks into the lay of the land. lisette stands up straight, eyes narrowed at the newcomer. "if you're with the league," she'd begun to say, "turn back. there's nothing for you here." [break][break]

After surviving the tragic events that took place in Petalburg City, Airi was given a promotion due to her efforts during the attack. However, the mocha-haired Ranger Captain has not been given an opportunity to celebrate her newest accomplishment. At first it seemed as if everything was slowly starting to settle down, but then the League gathered word that Team Rocket is still in full effect and hoping to cause even more damage to the Hoenn Region. Airi was summoned by the League to assist the other members with fending off Team Rocket. This time, she will refuse to let Team Rocket get the best of her.

Airi dashed through the forest at high speed with her majestic Absol, Geisha, sprinting alongside of her. Their nimble movements were well coordinated in movement and quite graceful, too. Her keen eyes picked up the sound of various Pokémon cries in the distance, which informed her that she was in fact moving closer to the battlefield. Hopefully, she is not too late.

A few more minutes of jetting through the forest, Airi and her Pokémon soon found themselves coming to a halt as the bow-like blade piercing through Geisha's head begins to vibrate, signaling to her trainer that danger is nearby. Airi's deep azure eyes take a few seconds to scan over their surroundings before pinpointing a silhouette emerging from the shadows.

"You are wrong! I have business to take care of, and I am not going to allow to interfere!" Airi responded back to the mysterious female. Geisha leaps in front of her trainer, her blood-red eyes staring fiercely at the other female and her Pokémon, greeting them both with a threatening growl.

emerging from the woods is another woman, fierce and resolute as she and her absol stare down at lisette with unwavering eyes. the blood-red irises of the absol, in particular, are hard to ignore. lisette takes a step back, mentally cursing in her head. dark types, huh? she glances at her own gothitelle, named eclair, and worries for her. [break][break]

but even if this conflict starts at a disadvantage, lisette won't back down. it's not in her nature to do so, and she has her orders to follow. even if it's futile, she'll put up a fight. "i'm afraid it's not that easy. if you want to go forward, you'll have to defeat me first." [break][break]

lisette's gothitelle stands in front of her, arms raised to the sky as astral energy surrounds them all. translucent stars flicker in and out of sight; lines stretch out and form four magical walls and a ceiling to match. magic room is a move that is more grandeur than anything else, but lisette hopes this will make them look more intimidating than not. [break][break]

"last chance to surrender ahead of time." a bluff, of course. but why not pretend that she is a stronger trainer than she actually is? [break][break]

A deep sigh escaped from Airi's scarlet lips as she listened to the other woman's words. Airi has never been one to enjoy mindless fights. However, if these individuals refuse to let her bypass, then she will have no choice but to let them down without showing any regret. There are others in need, and it is her job as a part of the League to assist them. "You leave me without too much of a choice. I can't turn my back on those in need. I will take out an obstacle that blocks my path," she explained to her. Her icy azure eyes piercing deeply through her opponent's soul.

Geisha narrowed her crimson eyes, carefully watching the magical room appear over the battlefield. A small smirk curled against Airi's neatly painted lips as she watched the performance being put on by her opponent's Pokémon. So far, their style seems to remind her of a malicious magician she encountered in a forest not too long ago. "Cute little magic trick. I'll give you that much, but it is going to take a lot more than that to threaten us, though," she informed them. The move was creative, but it shouldn't change too much within their battle.

"Geisha, let's make this a quick one!" Airi called out to her majestic beast. Geisha let out an earsplitting howl as her razor-sharp bow-like horn started to glow with shimmering, dark purple energy. Within a few seconds, it extends in size a bit right before Geisha rushed at her opponent with her light and nimble movements, hoping to slash her opponent's body with great power and beauty.

"i won't make it easy on you!" lisette promises herself more than she threatens the other woman. battling had never been her forte, and even as she engages a league member in combat, she thinks it never will be. [break][break]
the absol moves with such precision, lisette almost forgets to bark out a command ahead of time, herself. "eclair, try to dodge!" it would prove useless as the sharpened horn makes contact with the psychic pokemon, anyway. [break][break]
the gothitelle shrieks with pain, and her trainer does all that she can to maintain a sense of calm. "you're strong," lisette admits to the other. "and confident, too. just my luck to run into someone that actually knows what they're doing." [break][break]
the rocket grunt glances around. at the very least, the league woman seems to have come alone, so lisette won't have to worry about backup. "let's flatter them, shall we?" gothitelle claps once, and a shower of light and sparkles adorns the absol in an attempt to confuse it. [break][break]

"I wouldn't have it any other way!" Airi responded back to the other female with another cunning smirk curved against her lips. She refuses to back down and make anything easy for them. Her opponent has guts, but does she possess the skills to back them up? Perhaps, time will soon tell the truth.

Airi watched her Absol dance around the battlefield beautifully before striking her opponent with a powerful blow. Unfortunately, it was not enough to one-shot it. However, it did leave it quite weakened from what Airi can tell. If she is able to get lucky with another hit, maybe she will be able to take it out during the next turn.

Airi nods her head at her opponent's words. "I suppose I didn't become a captain by chance, huh?" She giggles, tucking a few strands of her mocha-colored hair behind her ear. It seems that her opponent may not be as experienced as the trainer as she is herself. It could be one of the reasons why her opponent is choosing to distract her and her Pokémon with cheap tricks. "You have more than one trick up your sleeves, huh? Not bad. But will it be enough to slow us down?" She questioned, raising an eyebrow at her opponent. She then watches the brilliant light cast a glorious light over her Absol, increasing her special attack but also leaving her to feel slightly confused. Geisha lets out a soft growl as she sways from side to side with little birds floating above her head.

"Geisha, shake it off, then use Night Slash!" Airi commanded her Pokemon. She has faith that her Absol will be able to push through any confusion in order to strike her opponent with another powerful blow. If not, then she may have to switch up her strategy a bit and attempt to relay on her non-damaging moves, too. Geisha tried her best to snap out of the confusion, but she manages to rush collide into a tree instead of her opponent, which causes her to endured some pain from the failed attack.
