It all reached a critical point, a final bubble in the boiling ire, threatening to spill over into the flame below. Yuina's clenched fists held something more than the hurt and the pain at how much she cared about eddie, how much she wished she didn't... The fragile, unstable threads of reality tied to her finger tips threatened to snap with each shutter of her tense body. A power she never asked for, a power she couldn't control in her uncertainties, and she couldn't let it consume her as it would consume him too.[break][break]
That final, broiling moment ebbed away though as Eddie backed off, thought it wasn't of his own volition. He, as stubborn and iron willed as he was... would never willingly back down from anything... and yet in a wake of rage of her own making, he was stepping away.[break][break]
He turned for the door, a miniscule attempt at tying up one frayed thread in the tangle that had split between them.[break][break]
But Yuina didn't stop him.[break][break]
Her heart ached, split in two as it always had been, and always would be. For every soul that cared about Yuina Higashi, for every person she dared to call a friend, they were another soul that she was destined and fated to hurt when she would be made to walk the end of this path of hers. This mistake.[break]
She had wanted Eddie to leave her in the first place, to go on and live the life he was supposed to have, and it seemed she would get her wish. And she hated that she was going to let it happen. But if she was going to hurt him in the future, she thought she might as well do it now... pushing away each person that she could hurt.[break][break]
He didn't deserve the pain, but it was for the best.
