Josh smirked lightly as he watched the hijinks of the wifey, before noticing something fly overhead that soon after, nearly took his head off. Ducking down, he pointed up towards it. "Lightning, you're up" he called to the Raichu as Lightning quickly jumped into the fray. The Dustox went after Lightning when he came towards it, but Lightning dodged out of the way, crossing up to look for a way to hit on the next move. Dustox turned and came back... But Josh was ready to shut it down and cancel this party.

"Nasty Plot, then Volt Tackle!" Josh called to Lightning. While Nasty Plot wouldn't do anything for Volt Tackle, he had a plan to end this quickly. Lightning charged the Dustox, his cheeks sparking as his entire body soon followed as he rammed his body into the flying bug full force, electrocuting them as well. But Josh wasn't done.

"Thunderbolt"

"Raiii... CHUUUUU!"

With it hitstunned, Lightning used the close range that beheld itself after the attack in order to launch a Thunderbolt that hit it dead on the hitbox. Through expertly juggling the attacks, the three-hit combo seemed to be enough as the Dustox went down. No frame advantage was going to save that one. As Josh tossed the Pokeball, he held out a fist, and Lightning slapped it with his tail as Josh smirked.

It was good to be back.

She was either seeing things—was there a mirage in front of her? The heat haze was definitely enough for her to blink and squint as she thought she saw…

Wait a second. That was one of the Fire-types she didn’t have yet! Looking over at her Gardevoir, she nodded before the dual-type concentrated and raised her stats by entering a Calm state of Mind before the Braixen began letting rip with all sorts of Fire Spin attacks!

“Get out of the way!” she called out, watching as the Gardevoir then warped out of existence with Teleport the moment the incoming vortex of fire approached. Surprised, the Fire-type looked around—only to get clobbered by a sudden blast of rainbow-colored energy the moment the Gardevoir re-emerged from where she had gone off to and chucked a Psychic blast at it.

As the Braixen attempted to counter the attack with its own Psybeam, a sudden blast of lunar power in the form of a Moonblast bowled the Braixen over. Before it could recover from the prone position, she threw another Pokéball at it.

"Hm?" Josh inquired curiously as Izumi suddenly called to get out of the way. He watched with mild curiosity (As the Pokeball for Dustox clicked and then disappeared to be returned to their homestead and new ranch under construction) as she sent out her Gardevor, taking on what he recognized to be a Braixen. As the battle raged on, a Pokemon brushed against Josh's leg, and he looked down with surprise to find a Growlithe. While Growlithe could typically be cautious, this one seemed to smell something familiar on him, and he smiled gingerly. "You smell Buddy on me" he observed, recalling his Arcanine fondly. On the next border cross, he'd need to try and bring them over, if he could.

Holding out some pokemon food that he had, he would kneel down and let the Growlithe smell the food, seeing if they would take it. Perhaps a Growlithe could be an idea for the kids? Big brain moment, that.

Not too far from where she was, Izumi caught sight of a Growlithe and a smile pulled at her lips. She knew how terribly Josh missed Buddy, his overly friendly Arcanine, and therefore let him capture the Growlithe.

On her end, there was a Koffing that was floating around. However, she knew that her own Pokémon were starting to get tired, and therefore left the Koffing alone, instead deciding to distract Josh after he’d caught the Growlithe.

Damn it, I really need something that has a Water-move… maybe Hydro Pump is a good idea to get, because this place is so damned-ass hot! she thought as she decided to sneak up behind Josh and poke him in the sides ina surprise tickle attack!

Josh was overjoyed at the capture of the Growlithe, as it filled him with a sense of nostalgia. An option for one of the kids, and a reminder that now was a good time to look over the borders once more. It was starting to get late though... Perhaps the two of them should consider wrapping this one up? It had been a long, hot and steamy date indeed, but they needed to get back to their job as parents eventually. As much as he did enjoy their time alone together, reminiscing about their old days spent here when they had first become something resembling a couple... That was a long, long time ago, come to think of it.

"H-hey!" he cried out as his wife suddenly brought her hands behind him to tickle him. He immediately wheeled around and wrapped his arms around her, spinning her about as he laughed in turn. But he only got a few spins in, before he was forced to duck as a Magmar nearly turned them into a fresh BBQ.

"Well, I guess I'm teaching this one some manners" Josh remarked casually as he put her down. "Lightning, let's go!" Josh called to the Raichu as the Magmar launched a stream of flames at the Raichu, but Lightning had already been empowered with Nasty Plot earlier... Its cheeks sparked wildly as it rolled out of the way...

"Rai... CHUUUU!"

The Magmar was rocked by Thunder, and Josh quickly tossed a Poke Ball soon after.

If there was one thing Izumi was good at, it was the art of distraction. Either way, she was able to divert his attention from all seriousness into something that required a little more… ‘loving’, to say the least.

She’d very nearly missed the Magmar, though.

Thankfully, they didn’t end up getting roasted alive thanks to his quick thinking.

“You think we can find our own hot springs when we get back home, then?” she asked him—catching sight of a Gulpin but allowing the small sucker to escape unharmed. It wasn’t even doing anything to them, either way. “Our own private bath…”

Well, maybe there was something about a private hot springs to call their own in more ways than one. They’d have to dig into the side of the mountain though, and she didn’t know if that was allowed…
