his head peeked in from the door of the gym as he entered through before his whole body came into the building. as he made his way into the gym he took a moment to admire the structure of it inside. all of it was pretty impressive, he just had to let out a whistle of amazement. "man they weren't kidding. this place really is one big sauna ain't it? kick-ass..." he said to himself as he made his way to where the gym leader was supposed to be.

"helloooo! challenger coming in! sorry 'bout showing up unannounced!" he called out, gaining the gazes of people who were enjoying the hot spring portion of the place. seeing their glares gave kazimir a bit of a flush as he tried to not meet them while wiping sweat off his brow. it sure was humid in here. or was that just him?

Stormy hears a whistle from across the room. She's just exiting from a sauna experience and toweling the dampness from her hair as she's leaving. She hadn't been expecting anyone for a gym battle this afternoon, so she'd treated herself to a nice bout of relaxation. [break][break]

But she can't help but grin at his apparent appreciation for the place, and she laughs.[break][break]

"Right? I thought so too when I first signed up for the job. I get to kick people's asses and then treat them to a nice hot spring relaxation spa day after? How perfect is that?"[break][break]

He beckons for the gym leader and she hangs up her towel on the side of a basket, waving at him.[break][break]

"Hey, it's me, the gym leader."[break][break]

when someone introduced themselves as the gym leader kazimir's attention was turned towards them, only for it to suddenly turned away as he averted his gaze. he was suddenly made aware of two things when he first laid eyes on the gym leader; first was that she was really cute. second; she was very...damp. "hi uh-shit sorry did i come at a bad time? ya looked like you just came out of...a good swim." thank arceus it was so hot in here that his face was blushing enough to hide the blush from the realization at what he just said sounded pretty dumb.

"but uh yeah, been looking for ya miss leader. here to get myself a badge. also take a soak afterward, well me and my crew here," he took out two balls and opened their capsules to show off an alolan marowak and lycanroc who both stretched their limbs after such a long while inside their mobile homes. kazimir had gathered that this gym had a bit of a leaning towards double battling, so showing off that even he was prepared for that would hopefully make him look good. even if his previous actions didn't, "if that's alright with ya."

The man averts his gaze and she can feel her face flush with awkwardness. What had just happened? She hadn't walked out in anything but a towel, had she? No, no she definitely had put clothes on. She looked normal, her hair was just wet. Why was he being so weird and tense?[break][break]

Her cheeks remain coloured with her moment of discomfort, but one could easily mistake it for flushedness from the humidity. [break][break]

"No, no not really. I mean, I wasn't expecting any challenges today but that's no big deal. I just came out from a brief soak, that's all."[break][break]

Stormy clears her throat awkwardly as her hand lowers from squeezing the damp from the ends of her hair. She hates when her wet hair soaks into her clothes. It's cold.[break][break]

He mentions a gym challenge, reveals two healthy young Pokemon.[break][break]

"That sounds fine by me! And feel free to enjoy the hot springs after, it'll be my treat."[break][break]

She then beckons for him to follow, setting her towel back down where she'd originally set it while she heads out the door to the gym arena.[break][break]

as soon as they enter the gym area hachiko suddenly bolts past them all, his eyes fixated on the springs that surrounded them as he bounded up to them and took a sniff. "sorry he...really likes to bathe. especially in hot springs." this time the blush of embarrassment could be seen plainly on his face as he motioned his lycanroc back to his side. only instead of doing what it was told the dog barked back while doing a little dance with his paws showing that he was eager to take a dip. "c'mon hachi, she said after the battle we can hang out in the bathes. c'mon now boy."

the lycanroc was dejected, obvious by his drooping ears and tail as he made his way back to his trainer's side and got an earful from the marowak who lightly bopped him on the head with his bone. not the great first impression that kazimir had wish his team introduced themselves with but...well they would be able to fix that in a battle no wouldn't they? "sorry 'bout that. they're an excitable bunch. still never imagined you could combine a hot spring with a gym, that's pretty awesome y'know. i bet you get more people coming to just bathe instead of battlin' don'tcha? does it ever get a bit annoying?" he asked with a smile and a questioning look, "or is the toll to use them one battle? cause that can draw in a lot of trainers alone...if you think about it."

Stormy feels the brush of fur run by her legs and she blinks, a surprised smile on her face. The dog in question stands near the hot springs, barking excitedly. His paws perform a tap dance to help express his eagerness.[break][break]

Kazimir's apology is quickly waved away as the woman giggles.[break][break]

"I have a pup like that myself. It still surprises me, since he hates water any other time."[break][break]

At the mention of him, Stormy releases her immense Arcanine. The legendary dog barks excitedly, prancing as he comes up to greet the fellow canine. His tongue lolls from his mouth as he lowers his head in greeting.[break][break]

"You boys can both enjoy a nice bath after."[break][break]

Arcanine whines at the gentle reprimanding the Lycanroc receives from the Alolan Marowak, glancing over his shoulder to wait for Stormy's orders.[break][break]

Stormy muses over Kazimir's question, glancing over at the hot springs nearby. Several tourists and guests had already begun to draw closer, curiosity and excitement dazzling their eyes.[break][break]

"Mmm.. it works out, in the end. They bring in good revenue so long as they get to spectate some challenges. The hot spring is mostly just an added perk - relaxation while they watch a thrilling battle."[break][break]

She smirks.[break][break]

"I hope you're prepared to give them what they came here for, stranger."[break][break]

Another pokeball bursts from her belt and a rowdy Donphan appears. It tears up the ground underfoot in anticipation, beady eyes watchful.[break][break]

"Arcanine? Feel like a battle, buddy?"[break][break]

kazimir's heart skipped a beat at the adorableness that was her arcanine interacting with his lycanroc. he was going to let hachiko take a nice bath with it once this was over. uhane would probably just watch, fire and water don't mix and he was holding true to that fact. upon the appearance of the donphan the two poekmon go into a battle ready stance once they understood that they were going to have to fight.

"alright then. you two let's get some gearing up done!" uhane raised its bone, both ends of it ignited into green fire as it started to spin it around its body in a swords dance showing off that it was ready to increase its attack and beat the opposition down. hachiko on the other hand wagged his tail furiously and let out a bark before turning his back on the foes and kicked up dirt with his hind legs, his sand attack aimed for the donphan to blind its eyes.

The moment Kazimir's Pokemon settle into position, the Arcanine leans down into a stance. His lips pull back to reveal his pearly whites, and the dog begins to growl, savage in his tone and completely unlike the friendly, goofy puppy he had been only moments prior. Now was not the time for relaxation - it was time to battle.[break][break]

Stormy watches as the man's Marowak performs a similar ritual to her own Marowak. A fond smile spreads across her face of the likeness of the two, before her focus changes to her own Pokemon.[break][break]

"Prepare yourselves."[break][break]

At her tone, the Donphan begins to pull herself into a ball, tucking her body in tightly. However, in the process, she leaves herself wide-open to the Lycanroc's sand attack. Grit stings her eyes and she groans, pulling out of her

defense curl

. While her defenses seemed to have improved, her eyesight was now in peril.[break][break]

Arcanine rears his head, issuing an incredibly intimidating and loud

roar

that might hopefully rattle the opponents and drive them back.[break][break]

the roar of the arcanine was a powerful one. its voice was carried and echoed throughout the gym. the force of it was enough to push both of kazimir's back into a tumble as they lost their footing and looked utterly shocked. "c'mon guys get it together, we can't let a little thing like that get us down yeah? so let's hit them hard!"

uhane was the first to strike as he twirled his bone in one hand before launching it at the large fire dog. dogs were fans of bones right? so hopefully this bonemerang would be a very nice treat for it. hachiko directed a bark at the arcanine as well, if humans could understand pokemon then they would understand the rock dog marking the fire dog as a rival now, and what better way to show that off than visually? a roar escaped the lycanroc's throat, a strong roar meant to shake the nerves of their opponents and hopefully drive them back just like they did to them.

Arcanine's roar ends and he licks his lips, flexing his paws into the ground and staring down at his opponents with a determined glare.[break][break]

There's an arrogance to the way he presents himself as if he's proud of the power he has exerted to forcefully push his opponents back. It does, however, give Donphan enough time to get some momentum. She's used her previous

defense curl

to help strengthen her impending

rollout

.[break][break]

She's just about to pick her target when the Marowak launches a bone across the field at Arcanine. The beast of a dog is momentarily distracted, attracted to the object being thrown at him. He's unsure whether to catch it to play with it or run away - so he sort of does neither. The bone smacks him across the nose, causing him to yelp in surprise and pain, one paw lifting to cover his eyes.[break][break]

Meanwhile, the roar has shaken both Donphan and Arcanine to their core, and the dog can feel his paws lose grip on the ground as he skates backward a touch. Donphan, on the other hand, is lifted up from the ground entirely in the midst of her

rollout

. However, she's still rapidly spinning despite no traction, her own momentum keeping her going.[break][break]

So when her body touches the ground once again she's going even faster, launching herself like a hydroplaning wheel at the Alolan Marowak.[break][break]

With a sharp bark, Arcanine lends his

helping hand

by both guiding the Donphan with directions on where to go, given the fact the Pokemon is probably still suffering from sand in her eyes. His directions lend her some assistance and strength behind her incoming attack.[break][break]

uhane caught its bone as it came back to him after striking the arcanine across the nose. with a twirl of it it pointed it at the donphan that was curling up into an attack and rolling across the ground. uhane was a brave type of fighter, willing to face anyone head on in the most literal sense possible. that was probably what was a bit of a call for concern because it meant that he was willing to be flattened by a small elephant coming right at him with all of its mass at such a high speed. he was brave, but also a bit stupid.

hachiko however knew that to some degree. while his roar was enough to shake the opposing team just like they did to them it didn't stop the charge of the donphan coming their way. what's worse was that uhane was now making its way to stand directly in its path, ready to take the brunt of the attack. "chariot special!" the command was something that only hachiko really knew as he let out a confirming bark and stood behind uhane.

the lycanroc then grabbed the marowak by the head and flipped him onto his back.

uhane was confused at what was going on but a single bark from hachiko was enough to give his protesting pause as he held onto the spikes around the dog's neck and suddenly the wind was blowing in his face. hachiko uses his accelrock to carry him and uhane around the incoming rollout with incredible speed and make their way towards the arcanine. uhane took that chance as they came up right next to the fire dog and whack it on the nose again with his bone rush as they circled the arcanine before putting distance between them.

Donphan continues to barrel straight down the middle, right down the barrel of the gun. The Marowak doesn't seem to move, fully prepared to meet the Donphan's attack with bravery and stupidity. Stormy watches with mild surprise and unease at this. Her own Marowak was not nearly as bloodthirsty.[break][break]

She watches patiently as the pair begin to meet in the middle. Donphan is absolutely prepared to make her opponent into roadkill.[break][break]

And then Kazimir shouts something and Stormy's attention diverts and Donphan barrels straight through nothing. Arcanine grunts in surprise himself, watching the Lycanroc bounce overtop of the Donphan using its accelerock. [break][break]

Donphan skids to a slight halt for only a moment, slowing herself to make a sharp u-turn and redirect her

rollout

towards the two that are now airborne and barrelling towards Arcanine.[break][break]

Arcanine's hackles raise as he prepares for the double-team incoming. Marowak raises its bone again as it intends to slap him again.[break][break]

Instead of taking the beating laying down, the Arcanine charges straight through the middle of them using

agility

. He takes the bone rush to the face with pride, but he hoped his lumbering body knocking into them with his super speed was enough to jostle them long enough for Donphan to

rollout

the Marowak once again.[break][break]

while the bone manage to meet the dog and deal damage the real damage was the breaking up of uhane and hachiko's special technique as the force of the incoming arcanine sent the marowak to the ground. being on the ground meant one thing, that the donphan managed to practically run over the poor marowak with its entire body as the rollout did find its mark and the ghost type let out a pained cry.

hachiko let out a worried bark as he turned on his heels and raced back to its side where it placed itself over uhane and let out a growl at their enemies, his eyes focused on the donphan. the lycanroc slammed the ground with his front paws and a circle of jagged stone surrounded them and as it did a line of jagged rocks began to make their way towards the donphan, their stone edges looking to break it out of its rolling attack.

while hachiko was busy on defense uhane managed to at least get to his knees and look at the situation around them. the rollout was still having an effect on him and so he decided to take this time and focus his energy in order to make sure his next strike would be just as powerful while he hid under his partner's body and stone protection.

Donphan feels the bump as she runs over the smaller Pokemon, and the satisfaction it gives her causes her to trumpet confidently. This moment of pride however is soon swallowed when the Lycanroc retaliates. The opponent stands over his fallen friend to protect him, using his own body as a shield. However, just as the elephant could turn back around to use

rollout

a third time, the Pokemon is blown back by shards of shrapnel rock. The stone edge is a direct hit, causing her to squeal in pain as she's blasted backwards.[break][break]

And then finds herself stuck on her side, struggling to get her legs back underneath her. Stormy bites the inside of her lip at this, perhaps a little disappointed at how favourable the battle seems to be going for Kazimir.[break][break]

"Don't be discouraged, you two. Just be patient."[break][break]

Arcanine runs to his companions side, using a

helping hand

to get the Donphan back on her feet. Now unsteady and agitated, the ground-type Pokemon digs at the ground and tosses her tusks around aggressively. Arcanine himself side-steps to avoid the brunt of her aggression, and waits patiently while they decide what to do with the stone edge.[break][break]

It appears that Donphan doesn't need any encouraging, however, as she charges straight for the wall. Her tusks ravage the weaker points, breaking them away in chunks as she begins to

bulldoze

her way inside.[break][break]
