The wall breaks apart in chunks, being tossed away like cookie crumbs as the Donphan breaks her way into the fortress. Unfortunately, in the meantime, she is also met with yet another hunk of sand to the eyes. With a squeal, she reels back, but not before her body had already smashed into the Lycanroc and sent him flying.[break][break]

Donphan hesitates before blindly(literally) steamrolling back into the fight. Her tiny legs lift up to try and brush her face, rid herself of the gritty pain in her eyes. Why did it hurt so bad anyway? She was a ground type.[break][break]

It leaves her wide-open for the double-edged sword coming her way. Arcanine's

agility

isn't fast enough to react. He's too slow to intercept, not that he really wants to take the brunt of that pain.[break][break]

The sword/bone smashes her back and she screams and in retaliation, she begins to

rapidly spin

to try and smack the Marowak away from her, to break their painful connection.[break][break]

Arcanine launches himself forward, his speed boosted by his previous

agility

as he hopes to tackle the downed Lycanroc with a

flare blitz

hachiko rose to his feet, dusting himself off with a shake of his fur as rocks and dust came off of his once shiny pelt. he tried to get a sense of the battlefield as his spinning vision finally decided to stay put. uhane had managed to strike a powerful hit on the donphan but it left him sore, his breathing heavy and his stance not the most firm. as much as the lycanroc wanted to help him the sight of the oncoming arcanine had his attention. it was a dog fight for sure and so hachiko wouldn't be shown up, with a bark he raced to meet the fire dog head on as his accelrock propelled him to meet the arcanine in a butting of the heads.

while uhane's muscles were screaming at him to stop he knew he couldn't, not when both of their foes were still standing. "uhane! play fetch!" from the corner of his vision the marowak could see his trainer pointing at the colliding dogs. with a node the ghost type understood, both he and his trainer knew that fighting two on two would wear them out too much, so a combined attack was what going to take them down.

of course that meant dealing with the donphan who was starting to spin around on the ground in a rapid spin. as it approached uhane he used whatever muscles could move to dive out of the way. however this was not before he gripped his bone and with a mighty swing threw it at the arcanine. he just hopped that the fighting hachiko was doing that the bone would find its mark.

Stormy winces, covering her eyes as the Arcanine and Lycanroc crash into each other. Rocks and debris and flames explode on contact as the two break apart. Arcanine is breathing heavily, saliva dripping from his mouth as he fights for breath. This battle is intense and he can feel his muscles screaming, begging for him to stop.[break][break]

But he won't because the battle hasn't finished yet.[break][break]

The Marowak neatly dodges the incoming Donphan, and the ground-type Pokemon fizzles out. Her own energy is puttering out, she's not moving nearly as fast as she had been at the beginning of the match. [break][break]

Arcanine, distracted by the Lycanroc in front of him, does not see the impending bonemerang to the back of the head. With a squeal, the dog crashes to the ground, legs crumbling beneath him as he's taken by surprise.[break][break]

"Arcanine! Don't let them bully you. Donphan, get in there and protect your partner!"[break][break]

Donphan huffs, and power seems to surge around her. Her feet stomp the ground and fissures and cracks open up in the ground as she summons an

earthquake

. Arcanine, caught in the crossfire of the attack, struggles to use

agility

into a

quick attack

to challenge Lycanroc again without falling victim to the unsteady earth below. [break][break]

the ground shook and it knocked the balance from the two pokemon from under their feet leaving them staggering to try and stay upright. both of them were weak not just in the knees but also their bodies, the fight was drawing out and it would have to take some serious teammwork and even a miracle to come out on top. kazimir was sweating as he watched the battle rage, his pokemon were troopers alright but they were probably still a bit too untrained to pull out a win, but in the end deep down he knew they were going to make some heavy sacrifices if they wanted to win.

"guys! go for a surefire kamekazi!" hachiko let out a growl as he charged at the donphan and scooped up dirt in his paws as he stopped short of it to let out a sand attack to blind it once again. he needed to make sure that uhane could make its next strike count after all, even at the cost of him seeing this battle through. he was able to see one last thing though, the arcanine suddenly ramming into him and sending him to the floor in a furry heap that wasn't going to get up anytime soon as he fell into the realm of unconsciousness.

uhane watched as his partner went down and knew that it was up to him now. that was fine. he was fine. he was going to win this for hachiko, for kazimir! for himself! with a roar the marowak charged through the shaking earth as his body gave off a familiar glow as its double-edged attack was ready to strike against the donphan, however things were different, his rocky head would protect him from any damage that he would feel from the attack, it was the elephant that would feel all of his might as he rammed head first into its body.

Arcanine tumbles into the Lycanroc and together, they plummet into one of the fissure caused by the Donphan and disappear momentarily. It seems Arcanine is the only one to return from the hole in the ground, but he pants heavily and collapses on the surface, unable to recover. The

earthquake

had cost him the remainder of his energy as well, and before long, the mutt falls unconscious as well.[break][break]

Donphan, meanwhile, is reeling from yet another

sand attack

to the eyes, and doesn't see the

double edge

that comes his way.[break][break]

"Donphan, no!"[break][break]

Stormy cries out, taking a step forward as she tries to throw her voice. It falls on deaf ears, or on delayed reflexes, as the Marowak smashes down on the Donphan with the rest of its energy.[break][break]

For a long while, while the dust clears, Donphan stands strong. It seems almost unphased by the attack. Unfortunately, however, then the cloud clears and Stormy can see her Pokemon in the open field, she sees the Pokemon's strength give in. [break][break]

With a sigh, the Donphan collapses on her side and doesn't make any effort to get back to her feet. The battle had ended.[break][break]

"Well.. alright then."[break][break]

Stormy shrugs, taking a look at her two unconscious beasts and then looking to Kazimir, who she could see was sweating profusely from the intensity of the battle.[break][break]

"Now you really look like you could use a nice hot bath! You'd think you were the one doin' all the fighting!"[break][break]

She laughs as if she's made a joke, and approaches him to clap him on the shoulder and offer him a shiny badge she'd kept tucked away until now.[break][break]

Before she hands it over, she takes a moment to brush some dust off of the shiny surface.[break][break]

as the dust settled kazimir's heart skipped a beat as he saw his marowak standing with the donphan, both of them unmoving. "uhane!" there was movement. the donphan had fallen on its side and the marowak looked back to its trainer and raised a fist in a sort of flexing motion. he was victorious. they were victorious. kazimir couldn't help but laugh in pure delight.

he tried to keep his composure however as stormy came over, the comment about needing a bath made him a bit pink in the face. "yeah its no fun if your not into it right?" as he was presented the badge he picked it up and looked it over with a smile before holding it into the air for his marowak and drowsy lycanroc to see. "hey guys we did it! we got ourselves our first badge!" both of his pokemon gave a cry of victory, even if one of them was weak, and made their way towards the springs to take a dip and ease their muscles, kazimir simply smiled back at stormy and gave her a wink. "let's battle again, haven't had my heart pumping that much in a while. and maybe...join me in the baths too? you uh...well...kinda look a bit sweaty yourself."

Stormy laughs, shaking her head at his response. It was sweet, and she particularly enjoyed it.[break][break]

"Yes, yes you're right. If you don't also come out of a battle hot and sweaty and ready for a good night's sleep, did you even battle?"[break][break]

She's about to leave when he asks for another battle in the future, and she stops short to catch the rest of his invitation. [break][break]

"Oh, probably. It's pretty warm here most of the time. Sometimes I wonder if too many baths just make it worse, but I don't really mind the heat and humidity."[break][break]

Arcanine stirs from his brief rest, following the Lycanroc to the springs. Something seems to distract him, something shiny, while Stormy stops to muse about a bath.[break][break]

"I suppose I can hang out for a bit longer! Let's go, I'll find us something to snack on too, I'm starved."[break][break]
