A Meowstic! Admittedly this was the first time that Josh had seen one in person. He couldn't help but stare at it a moment as the feline-like Pokemon would peter out from the grass, turning to stare at him, frozen in place when it realized there was another presence there. Josh stared at it back, but his emotions seemed easy enough for the Pokemon to read as they didn't stay frozen for long. It seemed that this one had been able to read the feeling of joy and excitement that radiated from the Trainer at its presence, to the point it seemed to somewhat trust in him.

Remembering the provisions he had brought with him in case the Safari Game ran long, Josh would take out a bit of food and offer it to the Meowstic, as if understanding it was in a state where this could make or break the trust in it... Since he couldn't battle it, he had to be creative, after all. He held out the food slowly, no sudden movements...

Meowstic accepted the food, and the Pokeball. As the Pokeball clicked, Josh decided to let it back out as it continued chewing on the food as if nothing had happened. He gingerly patted it on the head with a gentle smile. It was there that Josh had noticed that the smell of food had attracted another Pokemon that was hiding behind the bushes. Josh's smile brightened as he recognized that Pokemon. It was an Eevee!

Grabbing an apple from his lunch pack, he held it out to the Eevee as well. The Eevee was hesitant at first, but it began to inch ever so slowly toward the apple. Its gaze moved to the Meowstic, who seemed to be happily munching their own food, which seemed to indicate it as safe. Lightning would notice the Eevee as the Raichu would approach, curiously moving forward to sniff it. Josh was curious as to what it would do...

The Eevee hesitated a moment, but after looking from the Raichu, to the other Pokemon, they would let out an excited “Ee!” As they would accept the food. Josh would tap them gently with the Pokeball, and the Eevee didn’t struggle in the least. Once the ball clicked, Josh smiled as he would let the Eevee back out. He had two more Safari Balls remaining, he noted, and still some time left in the Safari Game. He would need to keep up the pace if he was to make the full use of the money he had paid for the ticket.

Though on the topic of apples, one of the apples in Josh’s bag had fallen out. Or at least, that’s what it looked like. Josh blinked a few times as he looked down at it. He hadn’t heard a thud or anything. Suddenly the apple would move, heading straight for his bag! Josh jumped back in surprise, as Lightning, Eevee and Meowstic would turn to stare at this strange apple. The apple stopped. Josh stopped. But then the apple began to move again, and Josh noticed something when he looked closely enough… The apple had legs!

“What in the world kind of Pokemon is that?” He whispered, pulling out some food and holding it out to the… Apple. Something would poke its head out of the apple, and begin to munch on the food. So it WAS a new Pokemon then! Interest piqued, Josh took out a Safari Ball and gently tapped the Applin with it while it was distracted…

And so too did the Applin join the team. At this point, Josh had ended up making a makeshift picnic, complete with picnic blanket that he'd brought in case they wanted to break for lunch. So there they were. Josh, his Raichu, and now the new additions of Meowstic, Eevee and Applin. While Josh had no idea what this living apple actually was, apparently it was Pokemon enough to get into a Pokeball. Apple and all. Which was something that honestly fascinated Josh at the sight of it. Was the apple a cover, perhaps? He couldn't help but stare at it as the creature munched on its food.

The word "Galar" had been thrown around a lot lately. And it typically had been based around Pokemon that Josh had never seen or heard of before. If he could, he would go and visit this Galar to see what it was like, and see what other Pokemon he could discover. But he knew that wasn't possible right now.

Time was growing short. Perhaps he had simply underestimated just how little time they had? Or perhaps he had gotten lost in this whole picnic with his Pokemon, new and old. Either way, when Josh looked at his watch, he realized quickly that he had completely forgotten about the time. They were running out of it, for sure, and Josh wasn't sure if he was going to be able to find a Pokemon in time to use the last Safari Ball. Did he just forfeit it if he wasn't in time? That would be... Bad, considering the expenses that the Safari Balls had taken. Josh would steadily get up, and the other Pokemon would follow suit as he began to clean up. To his surprise, the Pokemon began to help out. Though his gaze darted when he heard a cry.

The Eevee had hurt itself, it seemed, having knocked over the umbrella and had its leg pierced by an end. Josh's eyes widened as he pulled the umbrella way. The wound didn't look good. Josh began to immediately fish for first aid when he felt something approach. Looking up, a Chansey had made its way over and stood in front of them. The Chansey would begin to glow, and suddenly the Eevee's wound was healed. Josh smiled softly as he would pull the Eevee into his arms, looking up at the Chansey.

"Thank you" He spoke softly, reaching over and offering the Chansey some leftover food. "You know, we could really use someone with your urgency on the team. Would you want to come with us?"
