Sharp yellow eyes glared at him from a nearby berry bush. He stopped to regard them, familiar with the pair and recognizing them as those of a Meowstic after a few moments. But, soon after, those eyes receded.

Quietly, the Meowstic disappeared into the bushes. There was no sound or sight of it afterwards. And Remiel moved on afterwards, the midday sun filtered through the cloud of green leaves hanging from the trees above.

Though most certainly blind, one would think the Woobat's supposed strong sense of smell would grant it enough awareness to keep itself from flying into Remiel's chest. As things were, however, it did not. Perhaps it suffered from some sort of affliction or injury, but the Woobat did just that, leaving an accidental heart stamp on Remy's torso before panicking and fluttering away.

Watching the creature as it flew straight into a tree before knocking itself out, Remiel sighed. It wouldn't survive long if it continued in this way. Then again, Remiel hadn't exactly seen anything in this forest yet that he would consider any sort of real threat to the Woobat... so perhaps it would live on. Regardless, he made no move to heal or capture it, and simply continued walking forward.

The sound of snapping branches and rustled leaves was quick to alert him. He kept his head on a swivel as he looked for the source of all the commotion. And, eventually, he stared east from where it came.

A flash of red appeared from a bush not but twenty feet away from him, and steadily closing in. With only a split moment to react, Remiel hopped up into the air and avoided the rolling Applin that had threatened to sweep him off his feet. Rather than pursue this pokémon or challenge it with one of his own, however, the black-haired royal simply watched it roll away until it altogether disappeared.

As Remiel came upon another Chansey nest in the forest, one riddled with leaf beds and clusters of soft-boiled eggs upon them, he had to wonder whether this was the means with which the warden could afford owning (and maintaining) so much land. Chansey eggs certainly fetched a high price on the market, after all. They were typically so elusive and fast that hunters had trouble catching them.

Then, of course, there were all the laws that had been put in place to protect the overhunting of Chansey's for their eggs. If one were to trap many within a vast expanse of land, though, and call it a 'safari zone' before harvesting their eggs in a routinely manner... well. Needless to say, Remiel was a little impressed by the warden's initiative. If that was, in fact, something he was taking advantage of to maintain costs.

An Applin had fallen from a tree and landed in the wild path Remiel had been following. Its abnormally stubby and weak tail, however, kept it from rolling itself back up. Instead, it wiggled around like a turtle on its back.

The black-haired youth could see the fear in its eyes as he approached. Pathetic, he thought, before walking away. If it didn't manage to pick itself back up soon, he hoped it would end up becoming a tasty morsel for some bird pokémon or otherwise.

From the blackened corpse of a burnt tree, a strangely-colored Snom crawled out. Remiel had been inspecting the dead tree for a few minutes at this point, wondering whether it had been felled by a lightning strike, a wild pokémon, or a human being. He hadn't expected to see such a creature crawl out of it, needless to say.

Though baffled as to how it might have ended up there, and how it possibly could have survived the fire, Remiel drew out his last empty safari ball. The Snom was strangely-colored as it was, and deserved further study. So he tapped the ball against its head and waited to see whether it would remain in its new home.
