Back for more. The wilderness here still had secrets he had yet to discover. And, with a spare pass to explore it, the Galarian royal was determined to spend his day doing just so.

He set out during the early hours of daylight. With nothing but a backpack slung across his shoulders and hiking gear, Remiel entered the mysterious forest from a different direction he had the first time. The difference was almost immediately apparent.

He’d accidentally scraped his bare elbow against the bark of a tree after rolling his sleeves up. A foolish mistake. Even after washing the wound with water from his canteen and patting it dry with his handkerchief, however, it still managed to capture the notice of pokémon later.

A Chansey burst out from the bushes to inspect his wound but, not having any of that, its would-be patient evaded her attempts. He entered a brisk jog as it waddled after him and gave chase. Eventually, after climbing a small hill, it gave up and waddled back where it had come from.

A lone Budew had buried itself in the grassy space between two large boulders. Remiel spared it a glance, but didn't bother waking it from its slumber as he continued to move forward. The path ahead was far steeper than what he was leaving behind.

He slowed when he noticed something peculiar. A green apple hung from the low branch of a tree just ahead. And, though it might have appeared normal at first, it quickly became evident that something was moving around inside it. Just before it trembled again and fell off the tree, however, Remiel swiftly reached out his hand and caught it.

A moment passed in silence as he held the green apple in his palm. Then, before long, two curious eyes popped out from its top half, followed by a reptilian tail that emerged out from the back. The creature looked up at Remiel like a newborn looking up at its mothers face for the first time. In fact, something about its size and curiosity made it seem as though that were close to being the case...

Reaching back for an empty safari ball, the Galarian prince kept his eyes locked on the small wyrm even as it regarded the object he was bringing into contact with the side of the apple. If it truly felt some sort of deep connection, then surely its capture would go swimmingly.

The Eevee hissed at him from afar. It didn't want him to come any closer, but the path ahead was the fastest route to the other side of the small canyon. And Remiel wasn't about to give in to a territorial cat. No matter how brave (or stupid) it was.

When he stepped forward, it charged and attempted to bite him. After swiftly drawing his Honedge, however, Remiel attempted to smack it away with the flat side of the blade... only to have it Detect the counter and duck beneath it. Even when it continued to try and bite his ankle, though, the Galarian royal was quick to kick it away.

It hit the ground and skidded off to the side. Impressed by its reaction time, Remiel unclipped an empty safari ball from his belt. By the time it got back up on all four feet again, the ball would tap it right against its head before absorbing it in a flash of red light.

The forest was filled with all manner of sounds, both natural and pokémon-made. The bird chirping alone denoted the presence of various different species, though they did well to cover their physical presence in the big blooming clouds of leaves that the massive trees possessed. Only the curious pokémon in the enchanted forest dared to climb down from these trees where the humans walked.

One of these creatures, a Meowstic, did just so. It stood on a low branch as Remiel passed beneath it. The two exchanged calm looks at each other for a brief moment. But, in the end, nothing happened.

Another Eevee had chosen to make its approach, but this one was far more passive than the other. It walked up straight to Remiel with a calm gait before stopping at about a three feet of distance. Remiel crouched down to entertain its curiosity, reaching out with a single hand.

Despite the degree of caution in its eyes, the Eeevee stepped forward to sniff his hand... then, uninterested, simply walked away. Remiel watched it disappear into the bushes before getting up. Then he, too, walked away.

It crawled down from a tree and found its way onto a large palm leaf from a plant nearby. It was at this point that the black-haired royal came across it, stopping to admire the glistening reflection of the sun in its icy scales. As though begging for food, the curious little creature reached up to him with its pincer-like mouth. Remiel typically wasn't one for charity when no one was looking, but he just so happened to have a half-eaten granola bar in his bag. So he rummaged into it, then pulled out the bar before breaking off a small piece and feeding it to the Snom.

As he put what remained of the granola bar back into his bag, and swung said bag back over his shoulder, he watched as the little creature devoured the morsel happily. He'd seen Snom before. Several times, in fact. During the winter, they were quite prevalent in Galar. But he was more interested in their evolved forms: Frosmoth. And he knew them to be fairly viable pokemon in battles on occasion... so, deciding he would make this one a part of his team, he reached back for an empty pokeball before gently tapping it against the little bug.
