As the "Alien" they met introduced himself and the creature upon his back showed itself, Balder decided to let the others speak. All their points were logical to some extent, but only Isra had the decency to introduce herself. It's possible that their situation kind of made the others forget that simple politeness, but it's logical to do so.[break][break]

While Isra introduced herself and asked her question about the creature, Balder proceeded to call his Kingdra into its pokeball, yet allowed the Crobat and Charizard to roam freely around them, as a form of security. Once the lady's introduction was completed, Balder proceeded to do a short bow.[break][break]

"A pleasure to meet you in this... rather quiet land, Velmos. My name is Balder. And yes, these are my friends." As he said that, Balder gestured to Charizard and Crobat that were doing aerial surveillance. "As for an answer of who we are... I think the simplest way to explain it is that we are humans from another world or dimension? I'm still having a hard time with this concept to be honest. But we came her on Leo's back."[break][break]

The alolan man indicated the lion behind them, that seemed to have stayed quiet for some reason. The man will need to keep an eye on the lion, to make sure everything was alright. "Yet, before we proceed further, might I inquire upon what happened here? As well as the name of your friend of course, as Isra asked. If you could even provide us with as much information, that would be greatly appreciated."

"they target everything and everyone." the pale man replies.[break][break]

upon the mention of "hoenn," velmos seems confused. despite the relative calm of his expression, his perplexity reads clearly.[break][break]

"this is a pokemon." velmos says— and his purple companion floats around isra's wrist in playful orbits. "poi and i can help you access megalo tower."[break][break]

Isra Nightingale's noivern continues to scrutinize velmos' thoughts. this man is hard to read— and still, with the inherent limitations of pokemon telepathy, messages come across as if filtered through an old radio show's static. the man seems to be thinking, "hungry, hungry, hungry."[break][break]

velmos looks around, seeing Balder Schwartz's winged pokemon fly around the black blocky buildings.[break][break]

"large beasts attacked us a long time ago. we do not have many resources. we live in perpetual hiding." velmos says. "the only light we have is from megalo tower and even that is fading." he begins to retreat into the alleyway he came from.[break][break]

from the smooth black path, velmos pulls a small square manhole's lid out.[break][break]

"we can get in through the sewers. please jump in with care."[break][break]

there was an inner bit of dread welling up inside of the masked hero when the mention of giant beasts terrorizing this city was brought up. he could only imagine what other horrors might be lurking in this strange space and for the first time since he came to hoenn he felt a bit...unsure of himself. was he prepared to fight off a bunch of monsters? absolutely. was he prepared to try and help the people who were suffering here? positively. would he be able to really change anything though? that....that was a bridge he would cross when he came to it. it was a good thing he was wearing a helmet that shielded the others from his face, they didn't need to see the brave pokkenger carry a look of worry on his face as they made their way to their entrance. really it was the sight of the strange purple "pokemon" that brought any ease to kazimir as it watched it fly around.

when they were showed the entrance into the sewers the smell of it manged to even penetrate the helmet of the brave hero as he took a half step back to escape the smell. on one hand this was some real old school action movie cliche that was bound to work! on the other hand sweet arceus did it sort of reek. still they needed to press on, but before he did he looked back at velmos and gestured his lucario over with his backpack, "its not much as a thanks but think of it as a peace offering. shoulda done this first really." he took out of his backpage two wrapped packages and unwrapped them slightly to reveal the soft malasadas underneath the wrapper and handed them to Velmos. "these are the best things you can find to eat back where we're from. hope ya and poi like them."

he then signaled his aegislash and lucario to hop into the sewer, with the sword pokemon using king's shield as a countermeasure to make sure they weren't attacked while entering while the lucario followed through sensing the aura in the sewer for any sort of ambush or trail they might be able to follow. just as the pokkenger was going to jump in he turned back to velmos and gave him a thumbs up, "and hey, i'll be sure to take down any of those big monsters for ya. that's a poke promise!" with that he jumped down with his pokemon and started to roam into sewers.[break][break]

Perhaps it is a good thing 'Poi' finds its way to her, the little creature circling her wrist effectively distracts her from the cheesiness of the pokengers commentary.

But not the static in her head.

Isra reaches up to place a finger in the trajectory of the pokemon seeking to show it affection as she focuses on the fuzz in her head and the message it hides even if only barely. It takes her a moment, takes the noivern a time to pass it along but they could swear he talks of being hungry. Her instructions are clear, the noivern is to continue to dig. To keep the radio static tuned in, just in case.

"You speak of others." Isra muses. "How many more of you are there here?" speaks as she follows, eyes still on the little creature as she moves, moving to Velmos as he finds an unseen way into the spaces bellow the buildings. Her whistle is sharp, her pokemon understanding that they will be delving bellow. Her curiosity is plain to see on her face ad Isra does not look to follow so readily.

She waits for Velmos to answer her.

As it becomes clear the group intends to convene further with Velmos, Orion settles into the idea. He's still guarded, on perpetually high alert in this alien world, but there is strength in their numbers.[break][break]

"Orion," he provides, once Balder and Isra have introduced themselves.[break][break]

He signals to his Noivern, and the dragon bat circles overhead once more before coming to rest on the ground nearby. Though it may appear feral with the numerous scars criss-crossing its wings, it gives no sign of hostility.[break][break]

There is little discussion on the matter before Kazimir has decided that they're taking the sewers — this time, Orion's fine with the outcome. If there's a chance they could save Pierce or even find Mateo in the eerie tower, he was willing to take it. He offers a silent nod of thanks to his Noivern before recalling it; it would be an awkward fit, he thinks, to have the winged creature confined to an underground space. Not to mention the fact that it wouldn't fit through the entrance.[break][break]

Hopping down after Kazimir, he releases his Type: Null and Espeon. After the appearance of the bizarre block creatures, he craves the security that the chimera brings. Espeon probes into the sewers with her FUTURE SIGHT.

"Is it dangerous down here?" Orion asks Velmos. "Are there things that might attack us?"

Large beasts... This sounded quite familiar. Like the giant creatures that had assaulted Hoenn not that long ago. Something that had triggered their growth. Is it possible that the same thing appeared here, but with the ultra beasts? Or were the critters in their home world actually that large? Only time would tell, if they would meat these creatures.[break][break]

Entering an alleyway, Velmos explained that they lack resources and live in constant hiding. In a sort of pity yet kind action, the Pokkenger provided fresh malasadas to the Alien and his "Poi". Now if he hadn't gone back to his weird poke speech, that could've been a touching moment. But what attracted Balder's attention was the mention of the sole light source being this "Megalo Tower". Where their "comrade" was taken by those cubes.[break][break]

As Isra and Orion both asked their questions, Balder called Solgaleo back into its pokeball temporarily. He wouldn't be able to fit in the manhole to behind with. He proceeded to do the same with Charizard and Crobat. Their air support was not needed anymore, as they were going under in a few.[break][break]

Joining the group, Balder decided to ask the question that was on his mind. "Velmos, you said that the Megalo Tower is the source of light of this city. What's powering it? This might explain the existence of the large creatures, or why the cubes have retreated to the tower." Hopefully it wouldn't be another Ultra Beast fueling it right?.... right?

velmos receives the malasadas. hungrily, he gorges himself upon them. his manner of eating is akin to that of a beast diving head first into a carcass. his lucario senses a larger group of people ahead.[break][break][break]

"we have a few. the few that are left after all that has happened." as velmos speaks, isra's noivern continues to read his thoughts; however, he only seems to think of hunger even after kazimir's offering of rations.[break][break][break]

should the noivern attempt to prod further, velmos may discern what the dragon is trying to do.[break][break][break]

"nothing is dangerous here." velmos says, his poipole hovering ahead. "unless you fall because you tangle your feet. it is dark here after all."[break][break][break]

his espeon's FUTURE SIGHT attempts to gaze into the future, but what it receives is of little help. the espeon sees images of eating. a feast. perhaps, a meal prepared for everyone once they get inside the tower.[break][break][break]

"the tower is powered by electricity." velmos says, and his poipole snickers in turn.[break][break][break]

eventually, they reach a door; curiously, it is an elevator door with the button panel on one side.[break][break][break]

"which floor would you like to ascend to. the highest floor has the greatest view." velmos asks.[break][break][break]

the available floors are 3, 5, 7, and 13. the other buttons do not have lights on, as if the energy is not enough to power them. with the push of a button, the doors slide open to reveal an octagonal room with blue light panels fitted at the bottom of the walls.[break][break][break]

his lucario gave him a nudge and a low growl when the auras of several people were made clear to him. kazimir gave the dog a pat on the head as they walked, "good boy. least we know there's more of them." whether that was still good or bad was still up in the air, at the very least seeing velmos dig into the sugary treat like he hadn't eaten in days did make him feel sorry for the guy. maybe he should see if he had enough snacks for like...what ten more people?

as they made their way further down they came across a door, specifically an elevator door according to velmos who asked the party how high they should take it. while scenic routes were always some of kazimir's favorites they could probably use the height to their advantage and get a better look at the city from up high, as well as maybe find out if that's where they took their friends. after all this whole tower screemed suspicious if even the residents were wary of it now. "well we've come so far, might as well embrace the risks even more, let's head up to the top of floor thirteen. we can probably get a better layout of where we are and...i dunno is this tower thirteen stories high? we can probably reach the top floor from there at least."[break][break]

The more the team advanced with Velmos in tow, the more Balder found this situation... suspicious. Especially Poi snickering at the mention of the tower being powered by electricity. This was an... odd behavior. And definitely confirmed something to Balder: The tower was powered by something else, and this duo might be more dangerous then he expected.[break][break]

Thus, as they advanced through the sewers, Balder decided to bring out some pokemons for safety insurance: his Clefairy, his Gliscor and his Dusknoir. Quickly, the Dusknoir retreated to Balder's shadow, but his presence was still known due to the Pressure he exerted. As for the Gliscor, he proceeded to hitch a ride on Balder's back, whilst the man held the Clefairy in his arms. The little moon creature was chanting, executing Lucky Chant to grant luck to everyone in Team Solar.[break][break]

And for some reason, Gliscor was slowly sharpening his claws, a sign of executing Sword dance. That flying scorpion was definitely more aggressive then most of his allies, but Balder was confident that he could keep him in line if something happened. As they reached the elevator, Balder observed Velmos and the lack of lights upon some buttons. Clearly limited options... And the fact he wanted to encourage them to go at the top for the "nice view" knowing the crisis happening around them...[break][break]

This was definitely a trap. Smelt like one, felt like one. But... It was their only way in. And they needed to get in there, to see what had happened to their fallen comrade, and discover more of this place. Hopefully, they would be well prepared. As Pokkenger decided to choose the 13th floor (Was he even doubting Velmos?), Balder nodded, but for other reasons. "We know Pearson and his pokemon was taken into a high location, so the 13th floor would be a good start. Velmos, what can we find in this tower exactly?"

Espeon's forked tail flicks as visions flood her thoughts. Orion feels the press of the Pokemon's weight against his calf. It's a warning of some sort; this he recognizes, but he doesn't understand why. He remains on edge as they walk.[break][break]

Poipole's snickering unnerves him further. It reminds him of ghost-types, eternal pranksters, giggling when they know they've done something they shouldn't. Orion's familiar with ghosts and finds humour in their antics but this Pokemon is quite literally alien.[break][break]

He remains silent as the floors are discussed, giving input only in the form of a curt nod to Balder's reasoning.[break][break]

At least we know there's more of them. Kazimir's words resonate through Orion's thoughts, and he tries to catch the Pokkenger's gaze as they step into the elevator. Were they being led straight into a trap?

Elevator doors swing open and instinctualy Isra scrunches up her nose at the sight of it. Her brows are knit together with distaste for the mechanism as she has found herself with endless bad luck inside them.

Still, they must enter and she'll oblige if she must, though Isra doesn't listen to the chatter and summonings of the boys. She couldn't care less.

Porcelain fingers press 13 without hesitation, not waiting for the rest to make a decision. Not that they seem to disagree with goign straight to the top of the tower. Destination setted Isra finds her attention back on the Poipole that hans around them, grinning at the critter.

Her dragon finds himself unnerved as he comes to settle by her ankles, wings bunching up against his body as he sinks in close against her. The pokemon relents his hold on the stranger but his eyes won't leave him, mind skirting about the surface of the odd man out. There is no denying the suspscion and protectiveness in the pokemons demeanor as he looks to put himself between Isra and the man.

AS THEY ENTER THE ELEVATOR, the lights whir on. however, it is clear the energy supplying its luminescence is lacking. thankfully, the elevator seems to ascend well enough.[break][break][break]

when isra's noivern withdraws from velmos' thoughts, the man speaks, "WE HAVEN'T SEEN OTHERS LIKE YOU FOR A LONG TIME. OUR LIGHTLESS WORLD... WILL NOT BE AROUND FOR MUCH LONGER." his gaze sweeps the floor. "NO POWER. NO FOOD. I AM SORRY YOU HAVE FALLEN INTO THE SADDEST OF REALMS."[break][break][break]

as the thirteen lights up above them with a crackle, velmos turns to the party.[break][break][break]

"BUT WE CELEBRATE GUESTS WITH A FEAST. THAT IS IN OUR CULTURE." the door slides open slowly. the room is submerged in darkness, save for one rectangular window that allows for a panel of light to filter in. the light falls across a pile of bones.[break][break][break]

they find themselves in a circular room. everyone can hear the wet gnashing of teeth, wet smacking of lips, the cracking of something hard, something brittle. when the beings in the room notice velmos and his company, their heads swing toward the elevator door.[break][break][break]

their eyes glow faintly. the light suddenly surges on, revealing a macabre carnival of bloodied men and women, feasting on the body of PEARSON BLACK and his LUCARIO.[break][break][break]

"DO YOU MIND LEFTOVERS?" velmos darts into the room, swiveling to face them with his arms spread.[break][break][break]

from the ceilings, six naganadel leave their shadowy perches. they point their needles toward the party and spray POISON. the elevator can not descend, for something is preventing the doors from closing as well. a staircase is situationed on the opposite side of the room, leading into the dark as well.[break][break][break]

as the elevator came up to their floor kazimir's lucario gave another tap on the arm of his trainer who which the masked hero patted the pokemon's paw back. "don't worry skywalker, we'll help those people still up here-" as the doors opened only to reveal total darkness with only the sounds of something kazimir could only recognize as eating and a pile of bones in the middle of the room he felt his heart sink. there was no way that those were real bones were they? sure enough the room came to life with light, ironic considering the very much dead and half eaten status of their old friend Pearson who was a bit busy filling the bellies of the men and women in the room as velmos scooted between them to ask if they would like to partake in leftovers.

skywalker the lucario felt sick to his stomach at the sight of it, at the sight of the eaten lucario that he was ready to puke, fortunately his trainer was about to ready to do it himself as he fell to his knees and took off his helmet only to barf into it. pokkenger was brave, but this? this didn't call for bravery, it called for something else. something that kazimir was lacking in surplus. soon the strange purple creatures came raining down on them bringing a strange ooze with them, as soon as they came into view however oathkeeper was already sticking himself inbetween kaz and skywalker with a king's shield to protect them within his walls of defense as they shimmered to life.

"y'know velmos...i gotta hand it to ya..." kaz tried to speak through raspy breath and a fit of coughing, "when we came here i was so ready to fight some monsters...promised to help ya and your buds here...but y'know what...?" as he rose to his feet the helmet of the once stalwart pokkenger clattered onto the ground with the slight sloshing of bile swirling around inside of it as kazimir looked at the man and his gang with blue eyes that looked ready to drown him in their anger and confusion.

"cause kazimir wynter doesn't deal with cannibals." he moved his hands to his belt and slid finger over two of them as lights erupted from them and he brought out his two meowstics who took a glance at the scene they found themselves in and raised their hackles.

"galaxie ballet! oathkeeper, knight formation!" he cried out as his meowstics nodded together and joined hands in a dance, with a helping hand mr mew lifted madame up into the air and threw her with all the strength his small arms could muster as she twirled in the air and a ring of shimmering light formed around her before it erupted into a shower of swift speeding stars that rained down on everyone in the room.

"don't you know there's a saying we have back home velmos?! a cornered rattata bites back!" the unmasked hero growled as he pointed his blade at the pale man.

As the elevator doors slide open to a scene straight out of a horror flick, Orion's thoughts grind to a halt save for a single one: Of course it was a fucking trap.[break][break]

Time seems to move in slow motion after that. The crack-snap-crunch of bones between teeth is a sound he'll never forget. His instinct is to slam on the elevator buttons, willing the doors to close and whisk them away from the horrible sight, but the lift does not move. In all his horror, Orion finds he can't tear his gaze away from the mangled body of a man they'd brought to his death.[break][break]

More specifically, the Beast Killer acts first. With no command from Orion, the helmeted creature springs forth with a guttural snarl. Though Orion doesn't realize what the chimera is doing, its intent is to set up a HEAL BLOCK against their foes. Ever-protective over the Type: Null, as if she sympathized with its suffering, Espeon targets the Naganadel nearest to her ally with a PSYCHIC blast.[break][break]

The door swings open again. The scene does not bother her. The sounds do not bother her. Velmos does not unnerve her the way he does her Noivern now. Isra sees something else entirely in the room.

Isra grins wide as her Golem steps out of the midplane in front of her, the surge of the building energies from his phantom force going off with his entrance, the protect placed between her, him and the beasts seeking to cancel out the poison.

Her eyes are not on the pokemon nor the battle, it is on the people, the mess, the bones at their feet. She almost claps with delight but keeps herself contained, for now.

"What a delightful feast, you all seem to be enjoying yourselves." she jokes, snapping her fingers, the noivern chatters and rattles as he glows. Psychic energy builds up in his bones, the agility makin him pace in front of her as they watch for a responce from in the room.

Eyes have to pry themselves away to keep tabs on the boys and bones alike. "But it's not really the type we indulge in where we come from." She chuckles, lets the boys have the dramatics.

"I say we takes the stairs, how about the rest of you?"
