There was always one. Still, if she had to guess who would have the most honour out of Alec and a random stranger, she would have put money on the gym leader. Better to be proven wrong in a video game than in reality, but the attack stung nonetheless- and not just because she was weak to it. And then, as if to rub in how he’d taken advantage of her, he yapped. Rather than point out the problem with him stopping to talk to scold her for stopping to talk, an ellipsis popped up in front of her character. Ultimeite’s head slowly turned towards the boy, and in an instant, her face was swapped up for an emote:

She let him go. As annoying as his talk was, she knew it would be easier for them to pick off one mage at a time than try to handle two at once. Instead, the samurai dug her blade into the earth. The hilt was forced down and towards her, forcing the sword back out, and with it, a boulder was sent flying across the field. It phased through the rogue on its way to the marked target – a poor mage that was about to be more problems on her hands.

“Steal, watch your back!” The dragon had already proven himself the most roguish of them all – and not in a good way. If he chose to strike her ally while his back was turned, she at least wanted him to know what was coming.

Selena did not come prepared for physical attacks.

As the two melee fighters ganged her up, she knew the choice she would make would determine her fate in the late game. That is, if she managed to survive. But of course, she knew she would.

Selena's body was covered again in purplish glow, her eyes and even the verdant hair was gleaming. This time, the aura was bigger and brighter than when she first used it. The rogue was fast, but the witch was a bit faster in using PSYCHIC. The fleeting air of psychic energy hugging the girl mage formed a transluscent barrier in front of her, catching manofsteal closing in to his target, and diverting his attack away from Selena.

"You're aware your mundane attacks can't harm me, right?"

She managed to utter in great confidence even though she knew she just dodged him by luck. And not so long after, it was a boulder coming into her way, her lightweight body receiving the full impact of Annie's SMACK DOWN as it knock her off her safety tree.

The warrior's attack was powerful, but it was not enough to weaken the witch. Her health bar is still glowing green but it will soon approach orange if she did not make a strategy.

"Close combat fighters can never win against mages." Selena addressed Annie just as she was regaining her balance. The impact of the fall might be sham but the virtual simulation of the sensation is close to reality. "You only have the upperhand if you can touch us, but the thing is, mages thrive in long-range battles. You guys simply don't."

She pointed her wand to the demon mage who was just standing near the child warrior. "Let's show them the true power of the psychic, shall we?

It becomes quickly apparent that there are now two sides instead of four: close-combat versus ranged, and Gavin knows they're at the disadvantage.[break][break]

Still, he silently applauds Annie's commitment to the fight. He's a rogue, dishonorable by nature, but he makes a note to submit a commendation after their fight, no matter the outcome.[break][break]

It seems the mages are teaming up out of sheer arrogance, a fact that irks Gavin. The girl mentions something about the power of psychics, giving a hint toward her sharing a typing with her male counterpart. Excellent. Both of them were psychic. Of course they were. It would be his luck.[break][break]

Still, that's what he had his bug-type move for.[break][break]

Annie's smack down knocks Selena from her leafy perch, and Gavin takes advantage of the opening to attempt another twineedle attack. His burns are a dull ache in reality but in game they lick slowly at his health bar, situating it firmly in the orange.[break][break]

Alec was enjoying this all the more now. He got to play with his food and eat it too! Killing two birds with one stone was his best strategy so far. The two melee fighters had attempted to out the Female Mage. He had no intention of her dying though just yet. She seemed to be doing fairly well so far on her own, so Alec would settle with a different option rather than the original plan. He had flicked his wand again at Annie, who seemed to be attacking with manofsteel. [break][break]

However this time, his Freeze Dry spell would be more powerful by invoking the Sheer Force ability he had. It was different from selenatheteenagewitche's ability, however with Ultimeite's as well as manofsteel's melee attacks side by side, Alec knew her ability wouldn't work. However, at the same time, by attacking Annie once again, rather than Patrick, it would allow for Patrick to wear selenatheteenagewitch down, while he would attack with his special attack spell from afar. Not only that, but his last Ice spell seemed to be rather effective on Ultimeite. That was another reason why Alec had chose to attack her again. Not only that, manofsteel seemed to have the burn status ailment, so his health would gradually decrease, so he would attack him when the the time was ripe.[break][break]

Another wave of ice had quickly began to form, with the intent of smothering the young female Samurai. Alec had hoped that it would freeze her in place. "That's strange how you went for the other Mage. I thought you'd go for me, but instead you ignored me like a piece of garbage." The demon mage grimaced at the Samurai. "Oh well, I guess I'll just kill you first," Alec had said, another grin flashing across his face. Alec knew though that due to a Samurai's swiftness, she could still easily dodge the attack, but seeing her dancing around the battlefield was also quite entertaining for the Demonic Mage. It also gave him more practice with his spell casting. It all jus boiled down to whether or not she's take the hit like before, or move out of the way.[break][break]

How convenient of the woman to out both of the mages’ types. Her words, as long and incorrect as they were, told Annie that she’d made the right choice. The man’s bug type attacks could win them the battle, if he survived long enough. If she survived long enough.

She had a job to do, then. As long as she could draw fire from Alec (‘A mage with no multi-target attacks? Really? Well, works for me.’), her ally was free to handle the real threat. Meanwhile, her challenger seemed to have let the cosplay get to his head. She was no stranger to talking a big game, but years of being her own biggest fan had taught her that there was an art to arrogance… One that he was failing to grasp. It was almost insulting, and she had a terrible feeling that it wasn’t just an act.

She supposed that the casting time of spells gave him little else to do, but that wouldn’t stop her from delivering a verbal smack down: “What was that about talking too much? …Geez, even when you’re trying to act scary, you can’t help it.” She had no plans to sit still and wait for him to strike her down; while she spoke, her character broke into a run. The armour, it seemed, did nothing to weigh Ultimeite down. Zig-zags and sudden turns made aiming a troublesome affair, and sure enough, it spared her another painful blow.

He simply doesn't know how to give up.

After being thwarted by Selena at using TWINEEEDLE, he managed to throw himself once more at the witch who just regained her balance. The female mage felt the sting of his sharp daggers as it slid through her flesh, shimmering green blood oozing from the fresh wound. The burn should have dampened the attack's impact, but with the type advantage and Selena's innate vulnerability to physical attacks, manofsteal managed to rapidly bring down her health bar into an orange.

"You're lucky. But you know you can't kill me with just that."

With a flick from her wand, Selena's eyes shone once more, her body surrounded by a familiar air of energy the other players should have known by now. With the boost she received from CALM MIND, Selena's powered up PSYCHIC launched a massive ball of energy towards the nearby threat.

"Bugs trump Psychic. It's no brainer you choose that to protect yourself from our kind. But I'm pretty sure it's not your main element, is it?" The witch taunted her target, expecting him to be upset. After all, she's the only one among them four who managed to power up her moves and she's not the one suffering from a status condition.

Just after she launched the purplish blast of energy, Selena cared for a quick glance at the other two players in the battlefield. It seems like black_heart32 can handle himself pretty well with Annie. She figured she could just let them be while she dealt with her immediate adversary.

As it turned out, this match-up was unfavorable in more ways than one. Had the mages not chosen to ally with one another against their melee opponents, it might have been more evenly-matched, but psychic and ice attacks against the dragon and poison-type fighters spelled nothing but danger.[break][break]

It's for this reason Gavin finds himself forced to dodge rather than attack, firing a parting shot into the earth if only to utilize his jump and land clear of the purple blast of energy. Damn it, he hated mages. He really needed to build his kit up against them.[break][break]

It seems that Annie's forced to play defensive, as well. He'll send her a friend request after this and maybe they can do some training together in order to avoid this bullshit next time around. This was the last time he'd accept a four-way sparring request from a mage.

Alec made a 'tch' sound at Annie's comments. Rather than say words aloud and give his plan away, Alec glanced at Selena, hoping she would see his smirk. It may not have said much, but the face said, 'Let's square up together and end them both.' Alec wasn't about to give away a plan when his face could do the talking for him. With that, Alec had began to cast a Spell that he had not used yet, however, it was familiar to their enemies, because Selena had used it earlier. The Calm Mind Spell. [break][break]

The demonic mage had begun to cleanse his mind of impurities, and make it relaxed so that he may deal with the threat at hand. Once the spell had finished, he cracked his own neck, a loud popping sound could be heard that would make someone cringe just from hearing it. It was then that two different stat buffs appeared by his name and health bar, showing that the spell had taken affect. [break][break]

Alec wasn't surprised that Annie had dodged the attack, but at the same time, he wouldn't make the mistake of getting ahead of himself like he did again. He would wait for the opportunity to strike manofsteel Alec had made it seem like he was focused on Annie. whether the Rogue would change who he was targeting or whether Selena could lure him for Alec to blast him with his Ice Spell, either or would have been perfect. He wouldn't be able to freeze them with his ability, however the extra power boost from it as well as his newly acquired buffs would hopefully be enough to end him and leave Annie all alone to fend for herself. Since Patrick had been attacking her nonstop for a good bit, he figured that with him out of the way, the female Mage could finally have some breathing room for a change. All he needed was that one opening in order to make it happening.[break][break]

The samurai cared little for all but one of her target’s plans. All she knew was that he was open, he’d shut his mouth, and she could slice him. Her run (and his lack of movement) took her closer to the mage. Her blade was already drawn, so from there it took but a single swipe for her to do what she’d meant to so many turns ago – land a damn sword strike on somebody.

The rogue was now out of her way as he tried to stay clear from the witch's attack. Wrong choice. For Selena's a greedy witch, all she would ever need was to strengthen her defenses and offenses once more and make sure the next time she hit, it would be the rogue's demise.

A familiar light surrounded Selena and the fog of Spectra hugged her figure once more. If her appearance could match the authenticity of the demon mage's, she'd say now no one could miss the details of her mystic. A witch nearing her fullest form. The pink that would only show when she uses her abilities now won't leave her body, and she could feel her new-found strength pulsating through every veins. The witch used CALM MIND once more.

"Now where's your courage? You've been targeting me for quite some time now. I thought you won't get scared by my magic tricks."

Selena taunted her target once more. She knew he cannot run because of the burn she inflicted earlier. He's racing with time in targeting his enemies, and the witch knew he's not faring well.

From a distance, the other mage's eyes were piercing, hinting her a plan against their common enemies. With the rogue in the run, she prepared to leap into the demon's side as well.

SELENA uses CALM MIND.

As she takes advantage of his dodge to buff herself again, he flips both daggers in his hands at once and throws them at her. The twineedle won't save him when her psychic finally meets its mark, but if he can take one of these blasted mages down with him, he'll consider it a victory.[break][break]

Hell, he'd even be satisfied if Ultimeite got the kill.[break][break]

Alec figured that this battle was getting nowhere, with the dodging back at forth. Annie had felt the same. He also knew that manofsteel was prolonging the inevitable. With his nasty burn, eating away at his own health bar, it would only be a matter of time. his time was growing short. The Demon mage had assumed that was one reason why selenatheteenagewitch evaded mostly; attacking seldomly. Alec was not sure if the Rogue had a way to get rid of the burn, however Alec had highly doubted it. He also doubted that Annie had a move that would heal him from the Burn either.[break][break]

Alec stood, waiting for someone to attack him. He had hoped it was manofsteel, However it was Annie would come rushing at him, slashing him with a Breaking Swipe However, him taking the a hit was his plan, now that he had his Calm Mind buffs now in effect. It was not the Special Defense that was the key to his plan, but rather, his Special Attack Stat buff instead. [break][break]

Alec had quickly set up a Shell Trap once more, this time for the female Samurai. He grabbed onto her arm that held the sword, with blade digging into his shoulder. "This is gonna to hurt," Alec said with a devilish grin, as a light from his wand grew brighter. Alec had made sure that the wand was touching Annie as well as the light started, and with that, another power explosion engulfed Annie, another cloud of smoke raising to the sky. Alec had quickly let go of Annie, quickly backing away, making sure he was out of the smoke, leaving Annie inside the smoke. If he stayed in the smoke, then that could manofsteel time to quickly switch to attacking him. Luckily, Alec wasn't willing to stay in the smoke and find out. [break][break]

There was the one – the one skill that could shut down any of her assaults. Or try to, at least. He grabbed her blade, still unable to stop himself from gloating. Annie’s face took a turn for the unamused; a raised eyebrow asked if he really thought he could stop her strike. His strengths were mystical; hers were literal.

A single thrust wrested her arm from his grip. The katana came free with it (Annie shuddered to think if the game would account for the pain that could cause), and she impaled it into the ground, preparing a shield of her own. The explosion engulfed the pair in flames and smoke… But when it cleared, Ultimeite was no worse for wear.

She could only hope that she’d bought Steal enough time.

Selena could not afford to let her health drop a few more bars at this point. She was looking at end game and the man she's brawling with simply did not. manofsteal just needed to survive at least a little bit more, and the witch was willing to buy him some time... so long as he's willing to endure the burn.

And so when the rogue liberated himself from the melees by throwing his daggers towards her, Selena did not bother using any moves to fend off his attack. The psychic powers enveloping the witch was evident enough of the force the female mage possessed. The purplish aura whipped his blades out of her direction just as Selena flicked her fingers away.

For someone who's been cool during the early stages of their battle, manofsteal did clearly show his temper right there. Selena's contented and satisfied. It relished her seeing her opponents gloat just before they reached their demise.

She continued bouncing towards where the demon was standing and officially called him in a truce. Standing back-to-back, they both had a look at their own targets. Selena knew soon, a bell would ring for the first casualty.

The targets also had the chance to look at their enemies. And if they happened to chance upon Selena, they would barely see a trace of humanity left on the witch's body: the purplish glow washing off her face, faint veins lining up all over her limbs and face, and the veil of energy wrapping her figure. It was as if she's imitating the demon herself, but the big pulsating aura compensated for the bulky figure she lacked.

She intended to look sinister.

SELENA's current stats: HP (D), ATTACK (D), DEFENSE (D), SP. ATTACK (+02), SP. DEFENSE (+02), SPEED (D).

SELENA dodges TWINEEDLE.
