Avery had been wholly unsure about this. At first it had been a concern that she was spending money on a video game rather than on her daycare, but after Bo Locke had insisted that this would be fun, she was suddenly more concerned that she'd have to fight. Wasn't this, after all, a game that blatantly advertising player killing?[break][break]

The mere thought made her want to cry, but she couldn't cry in front of Bo! That would be even worse.[break][break]

So she had agreed, with conditions, to join in on this strange VRMMORPG opportunity. She spent very little time on the actual character creation, as, generally speaking, the appearance given to her based on her own physical properties was basically what she wanted to begin with. She did, however, decorate her unique avatar with green hair and pink flowers.[break][break]

When she finally pressed accept, she squeezed her eyes shut tight as her body was teleported to the next area. There, she's overwhelmed with several other people who had also taken liberties with their appearances. Some had wings, horns, tails, elf ears. Some were short, immensely tall. Some were even dressed as if they were more animal than human![break][break]

To her left, she heard another young woman utter something in excitement. Avery offers the girl a smile, but is otherwise unsure what to make of the situation and too nervous to actually approach anyone.

In a matter of seconds, several more people have begun to surround her. At some point, the young woman spies what could only be described as a floating blob of water. It gurgles a greeting and Avery's eyes widen in awe.[break][break]

And then someone with a long serpentine-like tail begins to twirl just a little bit too close, and she finds herself reaching out to grab the tear-drop and pull it closer.[break][break]

"Oh! Careful!"[break][break]

She squeaks, opening her hands to look down at the person that she's definitely mistaking as some sort of NPC or in-game creature, not someone's actual avatar. [break][break]

The other woman dressed with green hair and sea shells approaches not long after, taking the initiative. [break][break]

"Skills? What do you mean by skills?"[break][break]

Avery's expression is visibly confused and overwhelmed, and she continues to, unless Olivia's avatar had moved, hold the little blob creature in her arms.[break][break]

"Wobbuffet dummies? Are they not real?"[break][break]

She glances at the dummies with red targets on their chests and faces and she frowns at the sight. Someone shoots an arrow right into the center of one nearby and she flinches.

Avery watches in muted horror as the lizard-girl charges forward with vigor. There's a dangerous look in her eye and the flash of her tail moves in tune with the plunge of her daggers hilt. It makes contact with the dummy and butterflies explode around her. Without hesitation, they instinctually attach themselves to the Wobbofet and devour it's skin.[break][break]

Of course, the dummy returns to it's normal state almost immediately due to the games settings, but Avery is left wide-eyed and slack-jawed anyway. This game was downright terrifying, who in their right mind would want to play such a brutal and unforgiving simulation? She swallows hard, coddling the blob in her arms a little tighter.[break][break]

But then it speaks to her and she jumps, forgetting that she might actually be holding onto another player and not just some NPC animal. She holds it out from her chest to examine Olivia's avatar, a slight frown on her face at the thought of throwing her as she'd been asked.[break][break]

"N-no, I can't throw you! That'd be mean."[break][break]

The other woman has begun practicing her moves as well, using a very powerful PSYCHIC to beat on the dummies. She blinks in surprise and unease as the woman then turns to her, explaining the class system and what skills meant. [break][break]

At the mention of a healer, Avery awkwardly nods because yes, that sounds familiar. She had picked something that felt comfortable, but no, she hadn't read the manual.[break][break]

"N-no, no I didn't."[break][break]

Avery once again looks down at the blob in her arms, swallowing the pit in her stomach as she finally builds up the courage to do as she had been asked. She throws the blob (albeit not hard, because she couldn't bring herself to be aggressive) at the closest dummy.[break][break]

And then she immediately and accidentally casts GRASSY TERRAIN. Flowers practically sprout from her hair and grass tickles her ankles as the surrounding area is promptly covered in sweet-smelling grass and wildflowers.

The adorable blob is quickly passed on to a different player and Avery is only mildly relieved because, while it wasn't her in charge of throwing the strange-looking player and potentially causing her harm, it was someone else. Any act of violence, however small, made her a little anxious.[break][break]

The healer's GRASSY TERRAIN continues to spread as a result of her anxiety, but the floral scenery and the wonderful smell is intensely calming. While she may not know any physically damaging moves, she's pretty good at healing and protecting her side of the field, it seemed. [break][break]

Avery winces as the blob manages to use MOONBLAST, blowing up the dummy it had been thrown into. Avery performs a wonderful FLORAL HEALING skill, replenishing the dummy's health immediately thanks to her GRASSY TERRAIN. [break][break]

Avery can't help but smile even a little bit despite the scary and intense attacks and skills her newfound friends were capable of. Thankfully they didn't seem the type to turn around and try to harm her with these incredible powers, so she was fortunate in that regard. [break][break]

Hopefully they would consider her an asset and take her under their wing in exchange for her powerful healing capabilities.[break][break]

"Sure! This is.. kind of fun!"
