She'd rushed through the tutorial, pressed past the whole shpeal about how to build a fire because come on, she literally blasts fire from her hands, who needs to build a campfire from scratch when you have fire hands?[break][break]

But now she had reached the higher level missions, the ones that actually required you to brave the depths of PVP in order to complete the objective. She had already heard of several deaths as a result of the 'Eggs in One Basket' quest. It annoyed her to no end.[break][break]

And it's probably why she lingered in the Avia kingdom for so long before embarking on this perilous quest. It would surely be much easier to accomplish with another party-member, right? Unfortunately, her go-to partner was offline and unavailable. But Stormy was addicted to the game and really hadn't put it down.[break][break]

So, along the way out, she had picked up another mage. She hadn't asked too many questions and hadn't worried too much about whether or not he was capable or if he should even be this far yet. She just needed someone to watch her back.[break][break]

"So, here's the plan. We're probably gonna get ganked right outta the gate because people fuckin' suck. But we got this, yeah? Yeah."[break][break]

She claps a hand on her partner's shoulder, a faraway look in her eye.[break][break]

"Alright, let's go!"[break][break]

And then she disappears through the gates of Avia and reappears outside.

priam clasps his weapon with both hands as stormy relays him the plan. it was straightforward and quick, adjectives that make everything better for him. he is definitely on board on this.

"hell yeah!"

the objective of the egg delivery mission was very simple, and the dangers that accompany it thanks to the location of both of points a and b elude priam. this weather_girl chick seems to make it like they're going to have problems, which priam was ready to prove wrong.

then again, he is ignorant with how the meta of the game operates.

priam follows her to the gate, and as soon as he reaches the outskirts, he brandishes his weapon, swinging it in front of him. he acts unlike any other ranged carry as he quickly takes the lead.

"if anyone jumps on us, we'll just jump them too! that'll teach them not to mess with us!"

[attr="class","spiral"] Fernando spots Stormy immediately after she spawn into the map. He's been camping around the entry point, surveying possible prey while relaying coordinates with his guide mates. Not all of them share his aptitude for picking fights but their shared success and status as the highest ranking players on the server keeps them going.

Keeping prone, he looks to snipe her from a distance when Priam spawns as well. Two against one works against his favor and Fernando rescinds from firing on them. Although he knows what he has in his inventory, he rechecks it just to make sure. Good, nothing valuable. Considering how close they are to the respawn point, he considers doing something stupid but refrains from doing so.

Instead, he keeps his weapon drawn, standing from his prone position and approaching the two.

"Oi! You two need to be careful. You're about to enter the PVP zone!"

It's weird pretending to be proactively nice toward people in an upright spirit but mimicking more than half the game's population of care-bears is relatively easy. "Your not doing the egg quest too, are ya?"

That's right, hell yeah, she liked that enthusiasm. That's the sort of attitude that definitely gets you killed, but at least you look good doing it.[break][break]

And, of course, it doesn't take long at all for an unfamiliar voice to make themselves known. They utter something redundant and Stormy glances at the man, an expression of boredom and irritation making her face scowl.[break][break]

"Yeah? And? The same advice goes for you, genius."[break][break]

She gestures around her.[break][break]

"We're already in the PVP zone, after all."[break][break]

He asks another redundant question - or maybe he's just testing them. The mage glances at her fellow mage, measuring his reaction to the situation.[break][break]

"Why all the questions, stranger? What kind of wise-guy approaches others without a proper invite in dangerous territory?"

priam looks at the stranger before them. he seems nice. a very welcoming member of the gaming community. it's rare to have such people cast their

"he's probably telling us to be careful or something. don't worry, man, we're good!"

he waves his had dismissively in front of his face, a confident expression facing fernando. for someone who hasn't played the game much, priam's opinion on his skills exceeds the reality. there wasn't much of a difference between vrmmorpg and real life anyways.

priam waits for fernando to respond, his foot impatiently tapping the ground.

Considering her attitude, Fernando's already wary. To be running on such high fumes on the get go leans toward an aggressive player and the invitation to PVP reads off her personality in more ways than one. However, there are two of them, so Fernando appeals to the other, hopefully the more collected between them.

"I thought I'd give you guys a fair warning." He pauses, frowning, Fernando looks at the ground with a flash of dejection before pointing deeper into the wilderness. "I've been trying to hatch this egg for the past two hours but every time I make it past the half way point, someone kills me. Everyone's playing with their friends and I can't put up a fight against a whole party."

Stormy's avatar's eyebrows narrow as she regards him with a general look of distrust. She had no idea who this guy was, and the fact his finger was on his literal trigger was concerning. Did he want to get obliterated?[break][break]

"It literally says in big red letters that you're entering a PVP zone. If there are people out here not knowing the ins and outs.. well."[break][break]

But the ranger averts his attention to her partner, to which she also looks at him, curious what his thoughts were on this stranger. [break][break]

In the end she merely shrugs. Maybe he was right, maybe he was just trying to be cool about all of this, warn them of the dangers. But she was already aware, and hated being told what she already knew.[break][break]

"This isn't a mission you should be doing alone, stranger. I feel like it's written somewhere in the quest guide that taking this challenge with a party will make it easier. I mean, unless you're trying it on hard-mode."[break][break]

She sighs, glancing back at espeon for a moment, then at the egg attached to her hip. [break][break]

"We're going the same way you are, and if you don't cause trouble I don't see why we all can't get along and finish this quest together."

his hands move to a slow clap, trying his best not to look obnoxious but failing to do so. that, or he just looks overly excited for no reason.

"yes! let's do it all together and be friends!"

he quickly opens up a screen in front of him and sends a friend invite to both weather_girl and |||||||||||||||||||||. it was only then that he realizes the strangeness of his username. he scratches his head and then just straight up asks him.

"your name is weird. what do i call you?"

priam has his priorities elsewhere while the adults were arguing and attacking each other earlier.

Fernando lays on the dejected look just in time to straighten up at Stormy's offer. "If you don't mind, that'd be great! I just want to get this mission out of my quest log. Seeing one still there bothers me." He laughs casually at his own comment in the same manner that old men make odd claims toward their veterinarian's receptionist.

When Priam agrees Fernando feels his hand loosen and he smiles brightly. He might not be able to snag a kill off either of them but at least he'll get the quest out of the way. Fernando accepts the party request immediately and looks back at Priam. "Oh, that? Uh. You can call me blank."

Stormy took a moment to examine the newcomer a little more, especially after his suggestion that the rest of his friends hadn't made it past the tutorial zone yet. There's an itch of suspicion in her avatar's expression but she doesn't voice it.[break][break]

There was, after all, no blatant indication that he was lying. He looked to wear mostly basic gear, and she couldn't detect anything spectacular about him. [break][break]

His enthusiasm to join their group is slightly less off-putting than his first approach, and she says nothing else while espeon offers both her and the stranger a friend request. When |||||||||||||||||||||'s name pops up on the side of her HUD as the newest member of their party, she deduces that he is, indeed, a ranger class avatar.[break][break]

"Blank? How unoriginal."[break][break]

Stormy's blunt response is betrayed, however, by the amused smirk on her face. With a sigh, she takes the first step forward.[break][break]

"Well? What are we waiting for? Let's get this party started."

he steers his gaze at stormy, confused at her disinterested reaction. he supposed it was because she was a girl and they have different tastes. even then, priam blurts out his unsolicited thoughts.

"blank is so cool though! kinda like a superhero name for a vigilante. it has this mysterious feel, ya get me?" he slaps his forehead with his hand. "man, i wish i thought of a name like that!"

he looks at stormy as she says what was going on in everyone else's mind, and then to fernando. talking too much was a waste of time when they could be gaming. if priam wanted to chat, he'd chat up lucas lane and ask him if the geodude in his basement are a still alive.

"so, can we go now, weather underscore girl and blank? i wanna finish this and do more!"

[attr="class","spiral"] Fernando bites his tongue at Stormy's response and his avatar remains placid. Games are filled with a slew of insensitive assholes and Fernando's ones of them as well. That doesn't mean that letting someone brandish their own disregard for him is any easier to stomach but he does so because in the game world they're all on equal footing.

For now, anyway.

"Ha, ha. I bet Espeon is your favorite Pokemon or something," he steers the conversation toward Priam while following after him. For now he'll take after both of their leads as the newest addition to their party.

Stormy chuckles at Priam's more naive comment. He did sort of have a point, but Stormy was the type to be too proud to admit it. She genuinely did enjoy the mysterious. More often than not she was drawn to the people who mystified her or held secrets. 'Blank' certainly did just that.[break][break]

The woman glances at Fernando briefly but ultimately says nothing else. Instead, she nods along to Priam's encouragement to get going. She, too, had other things to be doing and other quests to finish. This one was already taking too long.[break][break]

She shoulders the strap of the egg she's carrying, rolling her shoulders. Fernando continues to chat with Priam and she's indifferent to it, instead more focused on crossing the bridge. It seemed that since 'blank' had joined the party, no other players were at all interested in approaching. Interesting.[break][break]

Because of this, the group manages to make it across the bridge with little hindrance - only the odd mob spawn that tries to dive them from the skies. Probably more Pidgeotto or Butterfree, hellbent on knocking them off the bridges.[break][break]

"So, has anyone managed to get good drops yet? I've heard some players have already encountered mini-bosses."

with his gabite dead, his options for his favorites were down to espeon and shroomish. between a pokemon that has been his partner for his whole life and a pokemon that he only has just because it's cheap to feed, there was a clear victor for who won priam's affection.

"hehe! kinda."

he quickly turns to stormy, eyes wide with surprise as she tells him news he hasn't heard before. to think people already had levels up for them to handle mini-bosses this early on baffled him.

"wait, this early? the game just started! i haven't even made real progress!"

idle chatting continue as they start walking to their destination.

Fernando plays dumb to fit into the same characterization he had alluded to in order to join the party. He makes some idle comments here and there but otherwise plays third wheel to their conversation. He continues to travel with them looking for an opportunity to snipe either of them and pick up an easy kill but nothing presents itself.

Bailey is busy with some sort of sickness (corona).

And why would Kyle fight himself?
