Luckily, Ruby was already in Nixtorm when she got the request. Duo Training? How could she refuse! In the PVE kingdoms, it was always so wholesome and lovely to be invited out to work with people! Ruby responds positively in the message before quickly making her way there as fast as her little legs could carry her. With her fire moves, hopefully training in the kingdom of ice and snow wouldn't be too much of a problem!

As soon as she got within line of sight, Ruby waved hello as she continued to make her way up towards him. "Well, hey there!" She called out, grinning as she twirled her wand in her hand. A motion she was doing more and more of lately. "I'm always down to train a bit! So thanks for the invite." Standing still, Ruby casually glanced across the landscape. They could stand there and talk for forever, or they could get on with the game, and Ruby had a sneaking suspicion he would appreciate the latter.

Gavin greets the mag with a nod when she arrives; head tracking detects the simple movement and his avatar nods as well, still performing the idle rogue animations with his weapons.[break][break]

He stops and sheathes them as soon as Gavin moves to survey the landscape. "Incoming on our right."[break][break]

A pair of Cubchoo were approaching through the haze of ice and snow. Though he knows the attack itself won't be of any use, he chucks both of his daggers at one of the bears, twineedles that seek to poison their target. The bear falters as the status takes effect, and Gavin's long-range special attack, venoshock, is enough to finish it off.[break][break]

"You had a real vendetta against barcode," he says conversationally as he retrieves his daggers. "What'd he do to you?"

As her training partner mentioned the enemies incoming on the right, Ruby quickly turned to face them. A simple pair of Cubchoo? She could easily understand why she was asked to train with him here in this region if it was going to toss nothing but ice pokemon their way. As he focused his assaults on one of the pair, Ruby didn't waste any time.

As soon as it began to try and use Frost Breath it was already too late. Using Fire Pledge, a huge column of fire enveloped the Cubchoo as it rather quickly melted away into loot and exp. Grinning, Ruby twirled her wand in her hands as she awaited the arrival of more. However, his question seemed to startle her a bit.

She turned to look at him, placing a hand onto her hip. "Well, when I first started the game he and a bunch of his cronies all attacked me at once, leaving me defenseless. It was a three on one!" Ruby huffed, shaking her head. "Only fair he gets the same treatment. You know? Can't let people like that ruin the game for others, you know? His entire moveset is just to stop me from playing! Paralyzing, confusing, flinching... Gah." Ruby sighed, shaking her head as she turned her attention outwards once more.

A column of flame obliterates the other Cubchoo before it can even sneeze. Mages really were flashy, weren't they?[break][break]

He chuckles at her indignant reproach of the ranger, and carefully does not mention that he would have done the same thing if he'd had friends around. If you wandered alone into a PK-zone, you were kind of asking for it. But he enjoys having allies, so he's careful with his words around this one.[break][break]

"Yeah, Rangers can be a real pain with all their CC. Especially when there's more than one of 'em."[break][break]

A couple of Smoochum appear as their next foes, and Gavin's caught off-guard by a psychic blast that takes down a decent chunk of his heath.
