Fernando notches his pistol over his opposite wrist and aims it forward before moving forward with a sweeping motion. There's no monsters in sight but he keeps himself ready, releasing it and repeating the process to speed up his initial skill usage. The sooner he fires the first shot the soon it'll come off cooldown.

"There's a huge gap between good players and bad. Same thing with dedicated players versus casuals. I was afraid that all my progress would be for nothing when some kid gets lucky with drops but that doesn't seem to be the case."

"to be fair, we are abusing the system a bit with our builds."

kyle peers over a ledge to look for any wild pokemon he can snipe and aggro towards them. there weren't any at the moment, causing kyle's to furrow his brows. any moment later and he'd start getting impatient for mobs.

"have you gotten any super rare drops yet?" while his words suggest that he hasn't yet, fernando has always been factual with his words. kyle hasn't heard him do the sympathy thing he does in real life in game since he got roped in in his party. "i know where to get them, but i haven't had the luck to get one."

he shares his misfortunes, hoping it eases him about his bad luck. unfortunately, it didn't.

Fernando continues to holster his weapon and redraw it, practicing the maneuver repeatedly until it becomes muscle memory. The first to draw always has initiative and in this world his great weapon is an actual weapon instead of a Pokeball.

"I got a rare weapon that grants the user the ability to use AIR SLASH. So it's useless on me unless I want to spend MC to rework my build."

A pair of Sawk appear and Fernando hits on instantly due to his practice. Now that his attack is on cooldown, he swaps to CHATTER before ending it with AIR SLASH. His clear time is fast and that prove adequate enough for his own standard.

kyle has had a similar build with fernando, although he put it together with playing solo in mind. having it work too well on pvp was just a coincidence, and a welcome one.

"can you just sell it for big mc?" kyle hasn't studied the economy in the newly published game yet, but he assumes the early days were the best time to sell rare items of superficial usefulness. "don't you have enough to do it anyways? money is easy to farm in this game anyways."

especially since their main source is ganking on pk areas.

kyle takes on one of the sawks with an air slash. the first hit flinches it, keeping it stationary for the second air slash, which finally ends its miserable life. he really should've went with another heavy hitting attack besides bolt beak.

The economy is built off its players which means that not only is it stupid, it's poor to boot. With Kyle and Fernando at the top, no one else can afford their prices. At least in Fernando's case, he's unwilling to part with anything too far below his asking value. It's better to hold onto it in the event that it becomes useful unless he can get a good trade for it.

So for now it'll sit in their guild war chest.

"Feels like a waste but I might try that then."

But that can come after they finish farming. A new set of Pokemon come out and Fernando repeats his previous action. ZAP CANNON, CHATTER, AIR SLASH. The set of moves so effective that multiple players even complain about it online on the B&B forum. He's seen one guide cover the play style but most like to blame some other factor for losing against it.

Go figure.

At least the mobs comply and die without a bitch or moan.

kyle snipes another fighting-type with a pair of air slash. he thinks about replacing his weapon with one with better stats just so he can one-shot the mobs effectively. nonetheless, the conkeldurr still falls to it.

"or are you sticking with a pvp build?"

fernando's arsenal, a single target, cc lock heavy moveset, seemed more geared towards fighting one on one matches, but not for clearing crowds of mobs. while kyle's is similar, at least his set doesn't attract as much aggro as fernando's in terms of boss fights.

"you're getting quite infamous in the game, you know? people might start copying your build or something, which isn't surprising, i guess. lots of people rather do something like that instead of coming up with their own strat."

Fernando whistles when the last shot if fired and their enemies fall. Something about the loot notification is immensely satisfying. It's almost like a tick, perking his attention and eagerness.

"You get used to it. Can't patent a build like you can products. People copy what works and what they wish they could be."

He smiles.

"You could be next, Kyle."

Another enemy appears and Fernando does not deviate from the tried and true. ZAP CANNON, CHATTER, and AIR SLASH is the dead set combo that leaves no one unharmed.

kyle kills the hitmontop with a quick one-two of the same air slash. it dies as soon as it lived.

"huh? please no."

his name already gets a number of comments. he wanted to make it as inconspicuous as possible, but the only thing it manages to do is the opposite. having a similar build that fernando got many to hate would only add to this.

"does this game have a renaming feature? i don't want the spotlight."

much like in real life, kyle wants to escape fame. as long as he's tethered with fernando, both as an elite four member and a member of his guild, he supposed he'd always get unwanted attention.

maybe he should reconsider his choice of company.
