"is this game fucking joking?" he says it to no one out of habit, expecting his nickit to appear and quell his temper. the cold does that instead, chilling the hothead as he trudges along. it is a game, and yet, it is real in its creation of discomfort and frustration. onus, or, dell, rather, wonders why he continues to play. what about it is compelling?

a voice rings out nearby, grasping the blond's attention. the figure before him is human but their eyes remain hidden, masking their true intentions from dell. "yeah, i could use a hand." he doesn't give a shit about true intentions, this is PvE. all they can do is help each other, so long as dell doesn't pull his teammate down.

"they couldn't have made this a little less cold, could they? maybe just, i don't know, a smidge warmer? jeez." at heart, he is a grouchy old man sitting on his porch, complaining. in normal life, he cosplays as a 23 year old. and now? he's an old man cosplaying as a 23 year old cosplaying as a virtual warrior freezing his ass off.

he watches the pair of sealeo manifest from nothing, a phenomenon he still grows used to each time it happens. his training partner immediately boosts his attack and special attack, invigorating him in an indescribable way. he leaps forward and attacks one sealeo with a smart strike, its health dipping way down.

"works out well for me, I'm a warrior so i can tank." it returns with a body slam, and his Stamina ability boosts his defense. he returns another smart strike and the pokemon disappears.

the second sealeo uses another body slam, this one hurting less and raising his defense once again. another smart strike and it disappears. it's odd being the one vanquishing pokemon and not just watching.

if this were reality? it wouldn't be so easy for him to strike them down.

"thanks. i think we'll manage, yeah?"

[attr="class","mthread"][attr="class","healer"]another DECORATE, another DAZZLING GLEAM. marcel's whittled down his battle style to a rhythmic cycle--there isn't really much else he can do, being a healer. thankfully, the warrior seems to have the situation covered; with marcel's support, they make quick work of the spawns.

"watch out!" he spots an icicle hurtling towards the warrior and leaps in the way. quickly summoning a SPIKY SHIELD, the shard of ice crashes harmlessly into it before dropping into the snow.
