It's been a long while since Katherine felt so excited over a mission.

According to the information she'd been given in the briefing, this was bound to be fun. She'll be accompanying an admin of Rocket, joining him as... A bodyguard of sorts? She imagined there won't be a lot of guarding to do, and if anything, the Rocketess expected this mission to be simple and rather casual. An easy job. They'll defend the hideout for the night and then head to their separate ways.
It shouldn't be more complicated than that.

"Gallade, we can't be late today." The violet-haired woman spoke to her partner only after sending him out of his Pokeball. "We aren't paired with another grunt this time. It's someone more important." Which also meant that impressing them was one of her intentions. "We need to get to the east side of the city, alright? We're supposed to meet him there." Gallade didn't need to use even a fraction of his power to tell that his trainer was not acting like herself. Too jittery, more excited than usual...

A dark swan mask was chosen by the woman for tonight's assignment, and she wore it without a second thought. Gallade didn't require a signal to tell that she was ready, and then he began to teleport. After only a couple of short pauses between the jumps, they arrive.

[attr="class","mthread"]he's halfway out the door to check for his partner when katherine appears. "oh," marcel says, voice coloured by a light surprise, "perfect. you're here." waving for the rocket to join him, marcel turns to go back into the safe house.

when katherine enters, she'll notice marcel's reuniclus in the centre of the room, setting up a PSYCHIC TERRAIN. "glad to see you got the memo." he nods towards her gallade. marcel has requested for psychic types, preferably with teleport too, in case they needed a quick getaway.

"i've got the most valuable ones in a van with the others," he says as he walks up to the window. the grunts had the order to leave as soon as a text came; it would be simply enough with his rotom in his phone. pulling back the curtain a fraction, marcel lets it fall back when he decides there's no signs of trouble yet. "any questions?"

kyle cannot explicitly admit that he sometimes visits the black market, having gotten his cosmog there. he cannot, however, let it grow too big since that is when league authorities start to notice and take actions. coincidentally, kyle's the one getting assigned to check one of the supposed hideout for its operations.

two of his mightyena were beside him while two others were circling the perimeter, ready to come in the moment kyle gives them the command through a speaker attached to their collars.

"don't get near until i give the signal," he whispers on a radio attached to his person.

kyle checks the time on his wrist watch and then decides it's go time. he goes out of his hiding spot and openly approaches the supposed safehouse together with his mightyena. he busies himself with his phone as he walks towards it.

he wears a casual attire: a shirt, jeans, sneakers and a cap whose brim is just enough to cover part of his face with shadows. he tries to appear inconspicuous as he goes towards the door, eventually knocking on it should there be no one to interrupt him.

A smile crosses Katherine's lips once she spots Marcel with her eyes. Working along with someone who happened to carry more experience than her was a blessing. It's an opportunity to allow someone else to take charge and lead, which she is more than happy with. After all, it wasn't something that she got to experience often.

"Questions? Nope, none. Whatever you need me for, I am yours." She is a lot more obedient than normal. Maybe it had something to do with the hour– or perhaps the more serious setting. Regardless, the fun in the situation is sucked away as soon as a knock on the door is heard. It urges the masked woman to turn, and her Gallade follows in the same instant.

"Okay, I suppose I have one question." She whispers faintly, "Did you invite someone else and forgot to mention to me that we're hosting a party?"

"shit. already?" pulling up his mask to cover the lower half of his face, marcel uses the other hand to make some gestures to his pokemon. an invisible screen fills the space of the doorway, hoping to REFLECT any attacks when he opened the door.

"cover your ears," he says as his hand rests on the doorknob. marcel pulls it open, and his sylveon immediately lets out a shrieking HYPER VOICE; over his shoulder, his reuniclus uses PSYCHIC.

a mightyena steps forward to take the brunt of the hyper voice, erecting its own barrier to protect both itself and kyle. the second one, unfortunately, gets blown back by the attack, finding it much more damaging than it would've otherwise.

his eyes quickly scan the pokemon before them. he clicks his tongue upon seeing the sylveon.

"it's confirmed. back up, get in position," he orders through his radio in a more obvious manner, much louder than he had whispered the command earlier.

he looks back to where one of his mightyena had been blown back to. "alpha, hyper beam!" and then back to the one beside him "delta, swagger, sylveon."

with his attention at the eeveelution, the mightyena barks a smug message at the fairy-type. as soon as the message is relayed, a highly potent laser gets fired from behind kyle, just barely missing the trainer and the other mightyena and straight through the door's opening.

Katherine follows her mission partner's instructions without a hint of hesitation, but certainly some resentment towards the situation they were stuck in. She covers her ears in preparation for the HYPER VOICE.
[break][break]"Go. Break their formation and then come back." From within the shadows, a portal in the wall to their left revealed itself as if a curtain had been lifted. It is spectral in nature, like a well crafted mirage of a magician. All three of Katherine's pokemons jump into it, with Mismagius herself leading the charge.

The PHANTOM FORCE is used in hopes that the ghost-type could manage to headbutt one of the Mightyenas before they're aware exactly of what was taking place.

Cinder acts in unison with the Mismagius. The dark lizard lunges at her closest target with the intent of sinking her teeth deep into their flesh. Should the POISON FANG manage to poison her target or not matters little, for Gallade is already set on using the chaos for his team's advantage. The psychic-type concentrates before attempting to TELEPORT back to where they came from - the building itself.

It's nothing short of a miracle that the HYPER BEAM misses Katherine herself, but frankly, she had Marcel and his pokemon to hide behind. She wasn't that worried.
