It had taken her weeks to build up enough unicorn horns to qualify - but qualify she had. She'd missed out on the Zapdos boss in Avia, but she had quickly gotten over it on her path to success elsewhere. Two more bosses had shown up at the same time and she had decided to pursue the boss she had the upper hand over. As much as she'd like to assert her dominance over the epitome of her strengths - she had bigger fish to fry.[break][break]

And this fish was a water-horse named Keldeo.[break][break]

Stormy pushes her way through the waterfall and comes out on the other side thoroughly drenched but brimming with anticipation. She hated the water but she wasn't afraid of her weaknesses. She knew what she was doing, after all.[break][break]

Even still, her robes were soaked to the bone and her hair stuck to her neck and it was downright disgusting. So, her opening move would be to cast SUNNY DAY to heat things up a little bit. The sun comes out behind the clouds and immediately begins to help dry her clothes and hair while she waits for her team to arrive.

"oh hey stormy. didn't expect to find you all the way out here. was pretty sure a water boss just ain't your cup of tea." the arcanine brawler pushed his way out of the waterfall that hid the path to the boss room. he shooked his fur free of any and all clinging water, spraying everything and everyone around him as it fluffed up for a second before settling down. a stupid grin was on his face even afterward as he walked up to the mage and leaned in close.

"yknow...always wanted to meet one of these. heard their pretty heroic pokemon so why wouldn't i try to get one for myself right? kind of a bummer my first time seeing one is...in a game." even if his words described disappointment his tone sure as heck didn't portray that. perhaps it was the fact that stormy was here to help ease the sadness of his crushed dreams, or maybe he was too tired from swimming hsi way here, either way now was not the time to get broody.

"so we wait for the rest of the squad to show up or think we can take this on our own? guess we'll find out!" he hastily charged up an aura sphere and launched it at the small colt pokemon to ensure that he would at least pull it towards him. he had gotten himself a bit of an upgrade and was feeling pretty confident about taking on a boss.

The demon wasted no time in making his way to bosses' Domain, casting a Psychic Terrain as he had entered with each slow step. "So, you two have come to kill the boss as well." He said, his wings spreading out as his tail flicked slowly. "Lets kill this thing quickly," The Demon Mage had said quickly. Instead of attacking right away, he figured that the Psychic Terrain would help increase his Psychic Type Attacks, as well as the female mage's if she had any that she could use. [break][break]

"I've heard of Legendary Pokemon, but I've never actually seen one before, to be quite honest. Even if this is just a game, then they probably mimicked the exact look of the Legendary Pokemon before him. The real Alec would have been excited to see such a Pokemon, however this was a game, and defeating it meant he'd get stronger, so it wasn't like they were killing the real thing.[break][break]

she was the last player to reach the requirement of the unicorn horns, it seemed. when she clicked to accept the quest the horns themselves vanished... it happened nigh instantly. the system was practically begging to find another player by now. she might have missed the chance to battle the electric bird-- but not this boss. this time, katherine was just in time.

the location of the keldeo is sent to her by one of the admins for the game, along with a short 'good luck' and an emoji of a smiling pichu. pfft, as if she'll need it.

her tiger pet, kitty, was eager to follow her around. always wearing a smile, kat's choice of a partner in the game seemed... rather ill-fitting for her. and yet, she had no doubt in its use. especially for a highly-anticipated fight such as this.

crossing the path through the waterfall, katherine did her best to channel some fire magic to rid herself of the excess water. "..wow. it's the four of us?" she recognized each of these avatars, "well, well. three mages and a guy who can take a punch. we're so winning this." a smile touched her lips as the spell of both stormy and alec were used-- SUNNY DAY and PSYCHIC TERRAIN.

TWO STRIKES HIT THEIR MARK. as two segments of the barrier shatter, the keldeo is alerted to the instance's commencement. the watery battlefield is bathed in SUNLIGHT and the ethereal auras of a PSYCHIC TERRAIN. however, this does not deter the boss. instead, it swings its horn around to summon the waters of the river and forces them to surge up (WATERFALL) against all of you.[break][break]

certainly, under the effects of the sun, the water-type attack's damage is weakened. however, will you be able to hold your ground against it? furthermore, the damage of the boosted PSYCHIC manages to penetrate the barriers- but only slight.[break][break]

afterward, the horse gallops, horn-first, toward the reliable DPSer with a potent SECRET SWORD. its horn glows bright as it closes the gap.[break][break]

"Are you kidding? I wouldn't miss this for the world. A little water never hurt me."[break][break]

A blatant lie, of course, that would definitely turn her mood sour in a moment when she ultimately got half-drowned by the Keldeo's WATERFALL.[break][break]

That, and the look on her face when Pinkie showed up was also pretty unmistakable. But she was mostly relieved - both she and Demon-boy had arrived at around the same time and they both had promising movesets. She'd seen and felt them both first-hand.[break][break]

But the battle quickly gets on the road as her SUNNY DAY and Alec's PSYCHIC TERRAIN come into full effect. The sun beats down and ultimately weakens Stormy's empowered weather conditions. Of course, it doesn't stop the move from hitting her with it's full, super-effective force. She spits water from her mouth and chokes, coughing as she wipes wet hair from her face once again.[break][break]

"That's it."[break][break]

Her body heats up immensely until she literally combusts, flames pouring out of her as she BURNS UP, exploding her excess heat and burning herself away into a type-less state as she directs the attack's empowered full force, combined with her SHEER FORCE, against the Keldeo.[break][break]

The mage pants afterward, the fire in her veins running dry as the fire-type move devours her fire-typing. Thankfully, it was for the best, considering she was in grave danger from the Keldeo's water-type attacks. [break][break]

She watches the beast charge for Kazimir and she gasps.[break][break]

two new faces decided to join the party, one of them familiar and another one was new to kazimir. at least they were quick on joining them in the assault against the keldeo. of course it having a barrier wasn't too surprising for a high level boss in this game but it was still annoying to see only two attacks really used to weaken it. guess they would just have to hit harder.

of course the boss had the same idea and a surge of water was called ut of the river and washed over the group. kazimir felt his virtual lungs fill with a bit of water as he was soaked and battered by the raging waves but managed to keep himself steady as his fur was dripping wet. luckily it seemed like a chunk of hp and his dry fur was all that was sacrificed for taking the attack. as soon as he was busy trying to shake himself dry he heard stormy's voice call out to him about the boss.

sure enough the keldeo had decided to single kazimir out and charge at him with its glowing horn. "gonna have ta try something better than that." he growled as he met the keldeo's charge with a flying press attack backed by some huge power

If it wasn't for the fact that this was a game, Katherine would have most definitely found herself drowning in the water that was called upon by the Keldeo. Instead, it's her avatar in game that has to suffer the force and power that carried the waterfall forth. She's drenched in water - from her hair to the soles of her shoes. It was annoying.

Stormy takes the lead, assaulting the legendary pokemon with a fire-type attack. One that would clearly not harm it as much as they all desired, but... If the other mage was going to do that, then Kat might as well support her. The differences they had - or still have - mattered little now. Achievements were more important than being petty.

Her wand is charged by artificial mana for a couple of moments before an onslaught of scorching flames escapes from the tip of it, engulfing the water-type entirely along with the fire provided by Stormy's BURN UP. And should it hit as planned, it was assured that the boss would be inflicted with the burn status effect.

"It's better if it focuses on him than us," Kat tells Stormy, disregarding kazimir's hp loss, "We're meant to dps, not tank. If we keep this up... We will do fine."

STORMY'S DECISION TO BURN UP is a wise one indeed. her fire-typing is shed as the keldeo lands powerful blows against Kazimir Wynter. in the mean time, alec foster is forced to reposition. his round of combat is lost- but survival is more important than DPS, perhaps.[break][break]

this close up, Kazimir Wynter is able to AUTO-HIT the horse. the FLYING PRESS lands with a startling wallop which sends the keldeo skidding back on its hooves. Katherine Fairburne's INFERNO blazes where the horse stands, engulfing its entire form in flame.[break][break]

the last BARRIER shatters with the BURN'S DAMAGE. however, the keldeo emerges from the flames with little harm inflicted on its body. transformed into its RESOLUTE FORM, the keldeo waves around its terrible horn and slams the earth with its hooves. water surges forth as it gallops toward the party once more.[break][break]

Stormy gasps as the fire peels away from her fingers and she's left typeless and breathless. She looks up to see that Kazimir has landed his attack, Alec has repositioned to avoid further damage, but does not attack, and Katherine aims a blazing INFERNO.[break][break]

She can hear the barrier shatter as flames burn the Keldeo's skin and it swings its horn around dangerously. Its appearance had changed and she takes a step back in surprise. To be honest, she hadn't been expecting that - she knew nothing about Keldeo other than it was apparently a water type.[break][break]

The mage regrips her wand, adjusting her fingers on the knobbly wood just as the legendary boss crashes toward them. The SURF at his heels splashes up her chest but she holds her ground, allowing a blast of FREEZE-DRY to escape the tip of her wand. It freezes the water that falls at her feet as it crawls towards the Keldeo. [break][break]

On contact, the remaining surf that washes off of her clothes freezes and breaks as she shakes her clothing out.[break][break]

"I think this means we can finally hit it! Give it everything you've got, guys!"[break][break]

Hopefully, her SHEER FORCED FREEZE-DRY had been successful.[break][break]

the arcanine brawler let out a cheer of victory as he watched the barriers around the horse suddenly break as their attacks managed to score solid hits on the thing. of course his optimism took a bit of a dive when he saw that as the boss was driven back it suddenly changed its shape. "awwwww...crap! watch out!"

while his obvious warning was issued to the party he watched as it slammed the ground once again to cause water to surge forth at the party and then charge along the water towards what he could only assume was him. he really was pulling a lot of the aggro from this boss wasn't he? if that's how it wanted to play then he might as well make sure that it doesn't get its way then. "guys get behind me! but nuke that thing the closer it gets!"

with a war cry he stomped his foot onto the ground with his heel digging into the dirt and a slab of earth coming up between the party and the keldeo. it was a bit rough but a mat block of this size out to keep them nice and clean of any attacks.

The shield shatters. The horse-like pokemon is on fire. Its HP begins to lower. Losing this battle, now, seemed nigh impossible.

The rays of sun reflect upon the water brought forth by the Keldeo's SURF attack, Kat's eyes even manage to capture a hint of a rainbow in the making. If it wasn't for the fact that this was a game, and a battle she couldn't afford to lose, perhaps she would have even stopped to admire the beauty of it all. Luckily, the attack itself doesn't damage the mage as much as it could. Thanks to her ability, ICE SCALES, the damage inflicted by the surf is halved. She stands tall, firm, and confident.

Katherine Fairburne's boosted PSYCHIC strikes the resilient horn of the keldeo— but the resulting burst of purple light distracts the mob enough to provide an opening for Stormy Silph's FREEZE-DRY.[break][break]

the keldeo gallops around, its hooves clopping against the stones of the riverbank. enraged, the keldeo dashes and disappears from the sheer speed of its attack.[break][break]

the next time it appears, the keldeo is underneath alec foster, the demon king, with its horn impaled through his body: a ONE-HIT KO. as the horn is unsheathed from flesh, alec foster's avatar crumples, his horned head dunked into the river's relentless current.[break][break]

the keldeo does not hesitate to attack once more. it summons a GARGANTUAN BUBBLE, which attempts to pursue Katherine Fairburne in order to detonate upon her.[break][break]

you must break the bubble by collectively rolling over 100,[break] while adding any bonuses you may have.
